Happy New Year 2011!!

Yeah.. that's the end of another wonderful year 2010. Another year of much ups and downs, getting to meet new ppl, make new friends, getting to experience JC life for the first time... and PW... wow, what a year!
Yeaps... 2010 hasn't been a boring year for me indeed. It's been a really busy one and its all thanks to all those ppl around me who've made this year such a memorable one for me.
Anyways, with the end of 2010, this sees me through JC1 and through to JC2. I believe 2011 will be yet another fruitful, meaningful and memorable year for me with the eventful JC2 life ahead and opportunities of meeting more wonderful ppl.

With the coming of 2011, let there be a new beginning, with the unhappiness from 2010 forgotten!! Cheers to a wonderful 2011 ahead!!

4D'09 class outing - Marina Barrage

Yup, met up with 4D'09 again today for a picnic-cum-gathering at Marina Barrage today. Met about 1pm at City Hall Mrt station and went for some lunch at 'Just Asia' at Marina Square. Wow.. didn't there was such a restaurant, and it actually offered free- flow of ice-cream and drinks. Lolx.. didn't know so didn't really work up an appetite. Therefore, was kinda full actually(dun noe why considering I hadn't taken breakfast, mind), so not much appetite. Didn't take the ice- cream and only had bout 2 cups of Pepsi.
Anyways, after having lunch headed down to Marina Barrage after waiting quite some time for the shuttle bus. It was really windy when we got to Marina Barrage. Well, of course! That's the place where ppl go for kite- flying. On the other hand, it could also have been due to the dark clouds forming above us indicating rain. Therefore, we looked for a sheltered spot and sat down to play cards --- Werewolf. And we spent the rest of the day being occupied with that, hahas! Did try to find the reservoir that was supposed to be there but didn't find it though.
Hung around playing cards until bout 5.45 and we set off back towards Marina Square. Made a huge detour though and ended up at Marina Square kinda late already, almost 7 pm. Planned to go bowling with John, Eugene and Farhan. However when we got there, the bowling alley was full and Pool required proper shoes and shirt. Therefore, since we were rushing for time, we decided to call it off and head for our destinations, me to a family dinner.

Back to Singapore

Yoz.. its 21/12 today, bright and sunny in the morn. Just landed back in Singapore ytd(20/12) at 1540 hours ( local time). Really feels good to be back. Everything feels more familiar and the weather's much warmer as well. Most importantly, there is much less spicy food back in Singapore. Phew.. sure had more than enough of my fair share of spicy meals in Korea.
Anyways, all that said, I sure did enjoy my time in Korea and Shanghai. Took many great pictures as well. Will blog about what I did in my last 10 days overseas in my next few blog entries and will upload photos on to Facebook as well.
Stay tuned...

Off to Korea

Going off to Korea le tomorrow. Ahh... finally! Been talking about it for weeks alr, all the packing and buying of stuff for the winter there. Actually, it was only just last night that my luggage was finally packed finished. Yesterday just went to buy 2 pairs of jeans for this trip too. Probably coz my waist has grown old jeans seems a little tight, not much space down there, ya noe?
Anyways, leaving early in the morn at 7.00am. Will try to take lots of wonderful scenic pictures yeah! Korea's scenery should be wonderful, and its snowing too!

Be back on the 20th and 21st there's a mahjong session organised. Kinda busy huh? Hahas:)

So till the 20th, ciaos!

Finally... CYCLING!!!

Hahas yeahs.. finally. Today's weather report read "Partly cloudy. Showers with thunder over northern, eastern and central Singapore in the afternoon." Hahas, no western part of Singapore. So I set out at 2pm in the afternoon for a bike ride.
Decided to go cycle the Pangsua PCN just behind Pioneer JC and follow it to the end.(Apparently able to get to 7 parks with Pangsua PCN - Zhenghua, Bukit Panjang, Choa Chu Kang, Yew Tee, Limbang, Teck Whye). Took me about an hour to get there by first taking the Choa Chu Kang Park PCN from Bukit Gombak. Then traveled towards Zhenghua Park but didn't actually go there. Was actually trying to get to Dairy Farm road. Been intending to go cycling in that area for quite some time already. However, just couldn't get there, kept going round in circles. Even almost got onto KJE expresway too. Thankfully, as predicted, there was a bright sun shining above all through the trip. Finally decided to try again from Choa Chu Kang Park to see if it may lead to Dairy Farm Road. Therefore, I headed back the way I came.
However, as I approached Choa Chu Kang Park, crossing the bridge at the traffic junction somewhere near KSS, it started drizzling. Lolx! It was about 4+ or 5pm already by then, almost 3 hours after I left home. I started to cycle faster hoping to get some shelter at CCK Park and head back home after the rain stops.
Unfortunately, I was too late when I got to CCK Park. Almost all the shelter or pavillions had already been taken up. By now the rain had started to become heavier so I slipped into a sort of sheltered cafe and waited there. I didn't have long to wait though. The rain slowly started to reduce to a drizzle. From where I was standing, I could see that the place where I just came from was a blur. Seems that the rain has moved on. I then headed homewards.
Again I followed CCK PCN all the way to Cdans Bukit Batok. However, after circling a few times, dunno why, failed to locate the road which I usually took. Fearing that the rain would get here, I then took the only route that I could rmb at that point in time, the route that Bus 187 takes. Although a slightly longer route, I did eventually get home at around 6+pm. It didn't drizzle for the rest of the journey though, which was lucky coz I wasn't going too quickly. The floor was wet throughout though, seems that it did rain in this area before. Hope that I can cycle some more when I get back from Korea.

I have heard about it... now I experience it...

Set off from home at bout 8.15am ytd morn and headed down to Farrer Park to meet up with Ming Yang for our scheduled Metro- SIF Cip at City Square Mall. Was supposed to meet at 9.30am but got there way ahead of time at 8.55am. Sat down at the Mrt platform area to wait for 9.30 to crawl by. At about 9.25am, Ming yang called me and informed me that he was alr in City Square Mall. Therefore I went over by myself. Upon meeting Ming yang realised that Chee koon had fever and would not be coming.

After that we reported to the security there and they brought us to Metro at lvl 3 where we waited for 10am to arrive. We placed our bags with the security and waited in a sort of staff lounge. At about 10.15, Xue Min and Hui Min and Joy arrived. While we were to be stationed at the mall's Atrium, the girls will be in Metro itself. We were then given a short briefing and given tags before being dispatched. Donations were to be for funding the education of needy Indonesian children.

After we got to the Atrium, we started setting up and decorating our booth with the gifts that we were supposed to give out. Minimum $2 donation and you get a Metro voucher booklet. Minimum of $5 and you get a Metro voucher booklet and either a pencil holder or drawstring pouch. Throughout all this, we realised that some items such as the drawstring pouches and voucher booklets were missing and so had to run up and down to the second floor countless times. Finally, we were ready to request for donations.

The first lady I approached was just browsing through some Metro Christmas items on sale around our booth. She was a non- Chinese and so I was feeling a little nervous as I approached her and explained to her what we were doing and requested for a donation. I think she intended to make a donation of $2 but she took out a $10 note and asked for change. However, after some thought, she donated $10 instead! Wow.. so generous! And the FIRST donation that I got.. TEN dollars! I then brought the $ back to the booth and dropped it into the donation box.

Took the $ back and dropped it into the donation box? Smth's not right. Oh.. I was supposed to bring her to the donation box and have her drop the $ in herself. We were not to handle the $. I made a mental note to rmb that, hoping no one had seen it. I then went back to her and passed her the voucher booklet and then got back to the booth. I then rmbed that she was also entitled to choose either a drawstring pouch or pencil holder with a $10 donation. I therefore went and brought her to the booth for a selection.

After that, things sort of quietened down as it was still quite early for a Monday morning and most people are either at work or still at home. Approached some passers-by and requested for donations. At first I decided to describe our beneficiaries, give them a background of what we were doing and then ask for donations. However, this proved to be futile as most ppl just walked away after I started speaking to them. Therefore, I changed it to "For only $2 you get a voucher booklet to shop at Metro" After that, I even changed it to "You get a voucher booklet for only $2", hoping that it will get their interest if they hear of the voucher booklet first. It worked!

After that, more ppl started donating. Most gave $2 while some gave $5 or $6. There were some who were quite friendly, like a lady who came over and joked with us before making a donation and then called her friends over to help in choosing an item. Then there was another lady who brought along two daughters and chatted with us as well. After making a donation, she then had her daughters choose an item. These were the few friendlier and humourous ones. Most others were colder towards us.

As I stood at the booth and observed, I realised that there seemed to be a 5-metre "force field" around our booth. Why do I say that? Ppl walking in our direction will make a huge detour around our booth just to get across. Then there were others who sped up suddenly when walking past our booth. Hahas... it was really humurous! Anyways, I still continued to approach passers- by.

After that at about 12pm, went for a quick lunch at 'Banquet' and met an aunt there. Said she will visit our booth later. Finished off with my chicken rice and left. Got back to the booth in 15mins. Then Ming Yang went for his lunch break.

My aunt came over with her friends after a little while and made a donation. After that she also gave me $10 for a meal later. Hahas.. how generous of her. A few other ppl came over to make donations as well and collected about $13 by the time Ming yang returned.

At that time it was about 1.15pm. We were starting to get bored. Although the human traffic started to increase as it was lunch break for most ppl, donations were coming in much slower. When approached for a donation, most of them declined. The ppl who donated were really minimal, almost to the point of zero. However, we were lucky coz our booth was located just beside the escalator landing so there was a continuous stream of ppl passing by our booth. Furthermore, there was a statue of a Santa Claus beside our booth where many children posed for pictures. We then grabbed the opportunity to get their parents to donate some $.

About 1 hour before the change of shift at 2.00pm, there were literally no more donations coming in. We got really sianzz, bored and tired as we have been standing for almost 4 hours alr. Although we still approached passers- by around our booth, most declined donating with a slight nod of their heads and with a smile. Although I do appreciate their courteousy in declining, it would have been better if they donated even just $2. Besides, it was quite comical to see them nod and then just walk off. "You get a voucher booklet for only $2, will you like to donate?" then, nod, and then walk off. Zzzz... it's like I get the feeling that they dun noe what nodding means. lols!

After that time really crawled, slower than a caterpillar crawling. We were counting down the minutes, then the seconds... really couldn't wait for 3.00pm to arrive.

Finally, finally... it was time to change shift. We went to return our tags and I went to buy some swimming caps at a 20% discount that we were entitled to. Went back downstairs and saw the girls at our booth. Apparently they had signed on for two consecutive shifts. Wow... so on eh! Can tahan 10 hours standing lols! For us, 5 hours was too much liaoz!
This really gave me an experience of what ppl at Mrt stations collecting donations have to go through.

2010 EOY Hols 1st week

Well nothing much has been happening lately. I'm one week into 2010 EOY Hols alr. Mainly due to the need to cook for lunch these last couple of days, all the washing and preparing of food, seriously is killing me! Anyways, therefore I've only gone cycling like once since the start of hols and I didn't even get anywhere on that trip due to the Dec monsoon season thus the persistent 'showers with thunder' daily. Just cycled for less than 30 mins and the rain came. Was planning to get to clementi though.
In terms of studies, only done maths so far. Basically completed Chpt 13 DE and trying to complete 14 and 15 P&C and Prob by today. Got to start on Chem and Econs too alr. Then again, still lots to do. All hols Hws still not started yet. There's Chem, Physics. Econs and Maths hols hws.
Starting to pack for my Korea trip alr. At this time of year, of course its snowing there in Korea, therefore lots of thick winter clothing to be packed and bought. Going skiing too, yeah, so will be really cold I expect about -4 degrees C.
Oh yeahs, went for a briefing for this Korea trip couple of weeks ago and coz I just rushed to the briefing after school, was wearing my Byron PE shirt. Then a woman there asked me if I was from PJC and introduced herself as Mr Ivan's wife. Omg!!! She said that Mr Ivan was also going for the trip, TGT WITH US!!! Seriously can't tell you how suay that is. Well, at least we'll be speaking chinese there, that's an added advantage on my part, and he wun have much opportunity to be correcting EL, hahas. Not that he will bother of course.
Will be leaving for Korea at the end of this week, Saturday.

Will try to go cycling a few more times after I get back to S'pore on the 20th. Will have to complete Hols Hws by then too. Still lots to do towards the end of Hols. What to do? I'm J2! Hahas it rhymes.

ciaos!!

Buffets + Lots of food = Huge stomach and FAT?!!

Woots.. Been to three buffets with my family in the past week lolx! Each time finished off the buffet with an extremely full and huge stomach. First was to celebrate my promotion to J2, then was to celebrate my parents' anniversary. The last, today was just for lunch. Dunno why we keep ending up with buffets for our meals huh? Hahas. Hope I dun grow fat. Maybe more exercise?
Btw.. 10S13's class chalet seems like not possible le lols. Reduced to a BBQ. Well at least there's still a gathering.. and more food! hahas!!

End of J1 Start of Hols!!!!!!

Well, today is the first day of hols. At least, first day of hols for PJC J1's. Had some Maths and GP lessons for about a week after mid of Nov, when school hols usually begin. Feeling kinda relaxed now, hahas. Not much of a surprise really, seeing as now I have certainly been promoted to J2, done with H1 mother tougue and PW and now that hols has begun and there's no more school.
Slept in today just slightly later than usual and woke up early to go for a morning jog. Haha.. been a long time since I last went for a morning jog. Used to wake up early on weekends to go jogging but due to the heavy workload of JC, thus being more tired than before, I have slept in on most weekends and seldom went jogging.
So went for a jog for only about two rounds around the park at my void deck. Seriously, my stamina is not as good as before. Was feeling breathless only after about the first and a half round! Anyways, plan to go jogging and exercise more as well during the hols. Really got to get my stamina back up to what it was before. Besides jogging, I have also decided to do push ups and sit ups every morning as a sort of warm up before going to jog. Also hoping to get my body to be fitter by doing so. Doing chin ups at my void deck as well. Hahas... hoping to develop some muscles, hehs!
Then again, the start of my hols also means that more work is coming my way. I really should get down to doing some revision soon seeing as I've been kinda relaxed for the past week, as I've still got lessons. But with the start of hols now, I'm planning to complete some things.
I've gotta
- Complete all hols homework by next week
- Clear up my room and go get new furniture for my room ( Gonna be really tough, still clueless as to what I'm planning to do.. zzz)
- Go cycling.. woohoos! and bowling maybe
- And of course revision of all J1 work
Yeah, and of course, I've to do some packing for my trip to Korea too. But that's really not very impt for me right now, still about 2 or 3 weeks away.
Hmm... still thinking of playing mahjong lehs. The com's MJ just does not satisfy my wants. Epic phail!

After promos lessons

Well, its way after promos now. We've oso got our results.
But still have got lessons, mainly only Maths lessons and some GP enrichment.
Still have to spend whole day in school though. Coz maths is in the morn from 8 - 930. Then GP is in the afternoon 2.30 to 5.30. Thus, got to spend like 4-5 hours in the school everyday.
Maths lessons are just going through J2 topics in preparation for next year(ie. Permutation and Combination, Probability). GP is more of teaching us better ways to study for GP and to approach the questions rather than teaching content. Done by an external vendor.
At least, lessons will be over by next wednesday, then the hols will begin.
But still, there are hols hw to be completed.

Possible to be having a class chalet at the end of year. Think it will be quite fun. First 10 S13 class chalet.
Got our class T- shirt and pullover le. Both looks ok, though the pullover is quite thick. Can use for Korea trip.. haha.

For Alchemist Club, we are now going into preparing for the Open House next year and to take over more duties as J2's next year. I will be helping out with the quiz section of the Open House 2011.

Planning a mahjong session also, for after I return from Korea. Ahh.. finally! Mahjong!!

On side note, been going shopping quite alot since the promos, PW and Chinese Exams are over. Thus, managed to get myself some red underwear finally... hahas.

I'm PROMOTED!!! J2 here I come!!

Hahas... feeling really happy now. No! That doesn't do it justice.
Correction. I'm feeling estatic now!!
Got my promotion results today at 9.ooam in the morn, 15/11/10. Went back to school at 9am.
Hmm.. so why am I feeling estatic and not just happy. Well, if I had expected to be promoted, this will then be expected and I will just be feeling happy. However, I seriously did not expect myself to be eligible for promotion as I was quite sure that I was not going to get a pass for my H2 Maths and my H2 Chem was an S grade for promos.
However, I barely scraped through with E's for my H2 maths, chem ; H1 phys, GP. However, H2 Econs got a U. Still, met the criteria for promotion. Got my 2 H2 passes, GP pass and H1 content subject pass.
Quite thankfully, only 3 in our class did not make it. So the class is still pretty much still together. However, due to our class size being so small, may nid to split class next year. Will only know in Dec.
After so many times of getting really poor grades, this is really a relief. However, there's still much more work to be done to build a stronger foundation. My foundation for my subjects still not very strong, as can be seen by my results. So need to spend more time revising and understanding my work in this hols.
Actually.. not much of a hols too. Due to the trip to Korea, I have counted only 44 days to the start of school. Starting school on 10 Jan though.

Gonna be going for a buffet on Saturday as a form of encouragement for future successes. A's for A levels... Hahas!

OP Actual A level Exam!!

Had the actual OP exams ytd. Went quite well I felt, at least I managed to rememeber most of my script and the little bit that I got jumbled up I managed to continue speaking as if that was the actual script. So all in all, was quite a smooth presentation. In fact, all PJ086 mambers did really well too. Memorisation of our scripts were all almost perfect and really smooth.
As for Q & A, questions were kind of easy also. Nothing that really required much external knowledge like about other countries or the technology that we were going to use. Therefore, I believe that we were all able to answer to the question and give a competent evaluation in our answer. However, due to the questions being easy, like only focusing on data collection methods and such, and not really going deeper into our project, there was really little elaboration that we could give about our project. Anyways, I got a question on E- learning, ' To what extent do you think E- learning will work for students?' All of us didn't expect that, that the examiners will ask two questions on E- learning.
Hahas, was still feeling really nervous just before the exam, trying to memorise my script even better and running through our presentation and skit again. Oh yeah, think our skit went pretty smoothly, with some editing done by Kendra.
Furthermore, I also feel that Alan's part as the conclusion ended the whole presentation quite well, with a link back to the 'Speed Sensor System' as the solution to speeding on roads and thus the loss of human lives due to road accidents. The emotional blackmail would also have left an impact in our assessors.
Oh... and we decided not to use the videos for the end of our presentation le. Felt that it would disrupt the flow of the presentation. So we made do without the interview of me and the crushing paper vid.
All in all, really an excellent job on everyone's part. We may not know how we will be graded but we have certainly done our best and the A will certainly be ours!!
PW cycle is almost to an end. One last component to hand in, that is the I & R with the GPF. Will be handing it in tomorrow on Friday the 12th Nov. Should be able to get an EE for I & R. Hahas... shall blog about that tomorrow. Bye:)

One more step closer to an A for PW...

Oral Presentation Final

It's early in the morning at 7 plus now. Hmm.. so why am I still at home and blogging for that matter?
Well... now that we have entered into preparing for OP exams, our time in school is very much free and easy. On some days, we may not even be required to be in school as we do not have presentations. so we can just do our work outside school. However, we still do go to school everyday for a more conducive environment to practise our OP. Rather, that's coz we have got presentations on most days. Having said that, we did our 6th and FINAL presentation for Mr Ivan yesterday. Even though so far we have done 6 presentations under his supervision, there are still much improvements to be made. Mainly with our slides though. As of now, we have edited our presentation slides countless times, done individual recordings of our presentations, written out where to click the slides on our scripts and come up with a "question bank" of possible questions that may be asked so as to prepare for our Q&A section.
Today, we are just one day away from the OP exams and we still have much memorising to do to get used to presenting smoothly. As we do not have presentation today, we will be going to school slightly later. That's why I'm still at home. I can say that I've memorised my part of the presentation pretty well as of now, having listened to my recording and practised my script quite a number of times before. However, it still isn't smooth enough yet. Besides, there is still the hand gestures to work on which I have definitely got much difficulty in. Waving my hands around randomly while speaking just makes me look like an idiot!
Anyways, as this will be our last practice before the actual exam, we will certainly be putting our best efforts into it today and do our best to not waste time on unimportant things. Apparently, our other 2 videos are still not too successful other than the opening video. May be planning to abandon them as our presentation is quite good already for now. The videos may disrupt the flow of the presentation. Kk... time's running out. Gotta go hang out at G1- 38 again. Wish me luck for tmr!!

Deepavali holiday

Its Deepavali today. No need to go to school. Therefore, got a one day break from PW from Jolyn. She agreed! Been doing PW for the past few days non- stop. Gonna be working on only OP for the next week and week after that will be the OP actual A level exam!! Still got loads left to do though. Intending to..
- Film a video of an interview of me about impacts on family members of victims of car accidents
- Going to run through the slides of our presentation again to see how it can be improved
- Need to come up with a model of our 'Speed Sensor System' which we are intending to use for a short skit to demonstrate how our device functions
- And of course, we will need to run through the flow of our presentation and memorise our scripts
So you see, loads left to do. Even now it seems kind of rush...
Gotta make full use of today so ciaos!!

A levels Chinese Paper

Had A level H1 Chinese paper just yesterday. It is my first A level paper... haha!
Well.. went quite smoothly, was not too difficult. Think I wrote quite well for Paper 1, lots of "gan qing" words. Paper 2 was also not very difficult. Haha...'chou shi' and 'xia qi' did not come out. So quite easy. Should be able to get an A.
Really hoping to get an A. Quite possible actually.
Now there's only PW left:)

Crystal Growing Competition 2010

Tuesday(26/10) - Went for my first crystal growing session with Kee Wei today after school. It was a really short session for me as I needed to work on the WR with group mates. Therefore, Kee Wei did most of the work. Mainly we picked out seed crystals from the solution that Kee Wei had made prior to this and tied suitable seed crystals to nylon strings. We then placed the tied seed crystals into beakers containing solutions of different concentrations to try out which conditions result in better growth. We also placed the beakers containing the solutions into the fridge for faster growth. We also made the shape of the YOG symbol using metal wires and placed that in solution as well. Hmm... the lab techs were really helpful and helped us out by offering suggestions and lending us loads of materials such as the metal wires.
Really envious of the other group's crystal though. They had already grown a huge crystal and decorated their crystal garden perfectly. Our crystals were only still so tiny.. hahas!

Wednesday( 27/10) - Went for slightly longer this time. Helped Kee Wei out in re- saturating the solutions again and dissolving "nuisance" crystals. We then took some pictures of our crystals so as to place the pictures on our poster which we were going to do the next day. I was to buy vanguard sheet for the poster and get an exercise book for the log book.

Thursday

WR final Submission!!! Hoorays finally got it off my mind:)

Hahas... this week was far from slack as I had mentioned in my last post lols! Had to complete our WR for the final submission. Therefore, this meant that we had to work quite late for the last few days leading up to the final submission on Thursday. However, we still had much to complete on Wednesday after school. My group and I stayed back in school until after 9pm working on perfecting our WR and adding any additional points and pictures to it to make it better. It was only until the teachers started chasing us out that we finally packed up and left school for home. Seriously, it was really a great rush.
I went over to help Kee Wei out with crystal growing when I finished lessons at 1.30pm. When I got back to the group at 3.30pm, they haven't started much real work yet. I was really frantic by then.
After we started work, we realised that we needed the original cover page of the WR from the question paper itself! We also needed to include survey and interview results. Lucky for us, we were able to get a spare question paper from some friends and borrow another laptop for use so as to speed up the work. We then rushed through the evening.
Anyways.. it was that we left school at 9+pm and after we got home, we were still working on the WR. Jolyn kept having us edit and re-edit the WR for grammar mistakes and to edit content as well. It was only until late in the wee hours of the morning at 2.ooam that I finally managed to go to sleep. Was to burn the softcopy of the WR into a CD at 6.00am in the morning.
When we got to school, our WR had not been printed out yet and much less binded. I was really worried that we would not be able to hand in our WR even by 12.oonoon. Had PW lessons in the morning and teacher was really pissed that we were still not able to pass our binded WR's to him.
Luckily for us, our binded WR's arrived at 10.30am, way ahead of the submission time. We quickly whisked it off in search of the teacher for him to sign and to hand it in to him with the softcopy.
Finally, we have handed in our WR after much effort and time. Well, I think it was quite a wonderful team effort! Now, we are one more step ahead to an A for our PW!!! Hoorays!

Relaxation at last - Long week for me!

Phew! Finally got to the end of the week. Even though its after Promos, it seriously does not feel that relaxed.
Well, as the year draws to an end, PW cycle draws to a close as well. With it, comes the OP presentation and final submission of WR. Therefore, my group and I have been working tirelessly this week finalising the WR and OP slides and our scripts. Besides that there was also the preparation for the Sudoku competition I had taken part in this past week. Yeah this is further elaborated in the previous posts.
Furthermore, due to the vendor trainings this week, with NS forum and all that, timetables have been stretched really long such that we end lessons really late on most days.
Oh and I've just realised with shock that Chinese A levels is just a week away from today. I haven't actually started preparing for it. Yeahs so that actually adds to what I had to chiong this week.
Anyways, tommorow will be the last day of lessons and the next week we will be going full force for PW and Chinese only. Therefore the timetable for next week is quite slack actually. Lots of free periods and self study periods.
Well, its reward for our hard work this week right.

Sudoku Competition Champions!!

Omg!! Omg!! Omg!! Today was a really wonderful day for me! Guess what, I got first in the Sudoku Competition held in school this afternoon. It was really quite a shock. Shall tell you about it.
24 teams were competing in the Sudoku Competition. Each team consisted of two people. I was teamed with Elene from the same class. First came the preliminary round where we had to complete 5 Sudoku puzzles of varying difficulty. Points were awarded for every correct number filled into a box(this makes the competition so much easier). Anyways, this had to be done in 20 minutes and only the top 10 teams will get into the finals. Well when I started doing the first two puzzles, I thought completing the puzzles in 20 minutes would be a piece of cake. Compared to the expert level puzzles that I had been doing prior to this competition, the ones given for the preliminary round was really easy. It was like every answer was staring at you in the face! Anyways, that was only for the first two puzzles. When I got to the third puzzle, it started getting a little more difficult. However, it still was not a puzzle I could not handle. However with the time constraint, it posed a certain level of difficulty.
Anyways.. with some luck I managed to get into the finals. Now I had some hope of getting the first place.
Puzzles for the finals were slightly more difficult. However, we still managed to complete at least two of the slightly easier ones and then started working on the others which were more difficult. The puzzles had to be completed in 15 mins by the way. By the 14 minute, we had already completed four out of the five puzzles. The fifth and last puzzle which we were working on was almost half completed. With seconds left, we decided to just spam random numbers into the boxes and hope to at least get some of them correct. Somehow, after handing in the puzzles, I felt quite certain that we were definitely claiming the champion already. Then the third and second places were announced, namely Group 25 and 11. The first place goes to... Group twenty... four!!! Yeahs... finally a first place for a Sudoku competition. I had taken part in two other such competitions before you know. Left empty handed on both occasions. Really estatic I tell you man! However, it was not all my effort though. Elene helped out a lot as well. Basically I started off the more difficult puzzles and Elene completed them. So it was really due to this wonderful team work that helped us win in the end. Really successful coordination.
Oh yeah.. the prize is a $50 CapitaLand voucher and two Sudoku books. Think we'll be using the voucher during the class chalet. It's a class effort anyways... shan't elaborate, hahas !

OP slides success!!

Spent some time perfecting our Oral Presentation slides after school on Monday and finalising it for our presentation on Thursday. We will be presenting our slides for the first time but only to the class first. Vendor training will be in the afternoon of Thursday where we will present to the vendor and get comments on our slides and presentation.
Well, didn't spend very long discussing this time though. Were all quite tired after a long day( yeah timetable has been stretched way out of proportion). Kk, so we decided to return home and each type out what we want to include in our slides and send it to Stella to be done up in Powerpoint.
When we saw the slides on Wednesday, it was simply awesome! Quite a success really. We even decided on a spectacular video which we feel was very relevant to our Project Title. Pictures and background done by Stella were also marvellous! What we really have left to do is really to ensure that we are familiar with our scripts. Yeah we each wrote our own scripts.
Should be able to pull off a spectacular Oral Presentation tomorrow if nothing crops up. Really excited about it... hahas!

Random

Sudoku -
Much has happened again this week. One of the more important thing was that I signed up for a Sudoku Competition in school. I formed a team with Elene and will be competing next Wednesday after NS forum. Really hoping to at least get into the finals this time around and hopefully, get into first place? Hahas, anyways going to be doing more Sudoku puzzles over the next couple of days to the competition to be more prepared. Elene has also requested for me to teach her how to do Sudoku. Will try to make time to do some puzzles with her next few days.

PW discussion -
Had another round of PW discussion today at West Mall. It was at 10am in the morning. Was trying to finish up WR so as to send a copy to Mr Ivan tomorrow. Deadline for WR final is next Thurs and so it really is quite a rush as our WR is still not really up to the mark yet. Well, Alan was not around again at the discussion which resulted in Jolyn being very pissed. He was around in West Mall though. Anyways, after 8 long hours of discussions and thinking, we finally came up with quite a satisfactory WR final at about 7.30pm. So what's left is pretty much only OP slides le, which we will try to get everyone involved as it will be really important. Vendor training is next Thursday and we still have not gotten any slides done yet!

suay 10/10/10

Yea... today is the 10th of October 2010. Supposedly a very lucky day for many people. Well.. at least most couples decided to get wedded on this day. Therefore, I was supposed to be attending the wedding of Ms Lim today.
However, I went cycling in the morning as it was a Sunday. To cut the story short, I lost my wallet, house key and phone on this cycling trip.
It was really quick actually. I was out cycling around Bukit View area and went over a really huge bump due to the cracking of the pavement. However, my first wheel went over one bump but the back wheel went over two bumps. Thinking it was just a fallen branch, I didn't take much notice. After that I crossed at a traffic light and realised that my pouch containing my key wallet and phone was missing. I turned around and went back to look immediately. I suspected that it fell at the bump. However, it could not be found anymore. It took only a couple of seconds mind you. Really panicked then and went about three more rounds around the path that I had taken just to check where it could have dropped. I even went back to the area around my house to check. However, it was to no avail. Really sad over the loss. But it was a lesson learnt nonetheless. Anyways, did not have the mood to attend Ms Lim's wedding reception anymore. So took the time to get a new EZ- link card done, get a new SIM card, cancel library account and apologized to 2Aians for not having met them on time at the station.
Well at least I did not lose any really important things and I have got replacements for the ones that I lost.

Finally, six hours had passed. Then 7,8,9 and finally we could go home.
LOLS! Spent almost 10 hours watching ppl play DOTA and I still dun get what the game is about. Sianz... I so noob! Haha...

H1 papers cleared

Ah finally its the end of the first week of Promos. That means all H1 papers are cleared.
Ok first, GP. GP Paper 1 should be quite ok. At least more confident of the content I am writing. Paper 2 should be ok too with some luck.
Chinese oso should be not too bad. Paper 2 was quite easy. Paper 1 might be a little out of point and was also quite rushed.
Physics was at least better than MYE I think. Really hope to pass Physics.
All in all, should be quite okay with half the promotions criteria. Really hoping to pass all of H1 papers. Next week, taking on the H2 papers.

Some updates...

Okay some updates on my life thus far. Been to the dentist last saturday for a review on my retainers. Everything seems to be okay and my teeth do not seem too out of shape even though I've actually not been wearing the retainers 24/7 as supposed. Nonetheless, gonna try to wear it more often from now on. Seems like my brushing of teeth is not too bad too. Not much plague even without flossing. Well, bad news though. Still got to wear retainers for about another year. Next review is in a year's time.
GP paper today. Went quite well for a start. At least I think I have addressed the question enough with a wide enough scope. Paper 2 was still kind of rushed. More or less managed to give complete answers for all the questions. Not really hoping for too much, maybe just a pass or an E.
Next two days are consultation days. Gonna have consultation with Ms Chang, Ms Tan and Mr Tan for Econs, Maths and Physics respectively on Wednesday. Gonna just stay at home to revise for tomorrow. Really got to work hard to excel in this last stretch!

PROMOS!!! Jiayous!!

Yea, the end of year promotional exams are finally here. Hahas... makes it sound like smth to be excited about. But isn't it? Well, dunno why I'm so excited for the promos also. Still loads more preparation to be done though. Not really revised enough yet. However, more confident for GP paper at least which is the first paper on coming Monday.
Quite sure I'll be doing question on Environment le. Quite straightforward the questions, can only ask about measures, causes and effects mah.
As for the other subjects, still got much to work on. But there's still enough time for revision if I make good use of my time. Physics should also be much better le.
Really think I'll be able to ace this promos exam.

PROMOS, HERE I COME!

I & R Draft 1

I & R draft 1 was to be due today. However, I clean forgot about it. Lucky for me, there was an announcement made during morning assembly to remind us to hand our drafts in. After that, I spent the next few periods, Econs, Maths and PW completing my draft and finally submitted it slightly after 12 noon at 12.15. Thankfully there weren't many people using the library today although it is usually packed on PW submission dates.
Hmm... I never used to understand why they make announcements to remind us to hand in our drafts. That was probable coz I felt that ppl couldn't forget something as impt as that. Now I finally appreciate why the morning announcements are made.
Coming to the end of the week already. Come next week, promos will be starting. Still got loads of reivsion to do though.
Kk, ciaos!

Monday, September 13, 2010

Finished another draft of WR today. This draft feels more completed to me with survey results and some pictures. Gonna see what Mr Ivan says tmr during tutorial. Hope its good news!

...?

Kays... seems that some ppl are starting to use my tagboard. Problem is( pardon me) I don't actually know who you guys are. So if its not too much a trouble, do you guys mind using real names to tag? Thanks loads

Sept Sch Hols 2010

Wow... time flies. Its alr Thursday of the Sept sch hols le. Just three more weeks to the start of promos.
Well... so what have I done? Been revising through all my work of course, but feel that it still isn't enough. Gotta buck up for the last few days of hols to ensure that I score extremely well for the coming promos exams. This is due to me not having been doing well for the last few terms so this 60% so I can pull all my grades up.
Well GP seems to be getting better for me but still think there's lots more room for improvement. Hope to get A for GP and all the other subjects as well of course.

Cheers to 4A's for me yeahs!

Teacher's Day 2010!

Was Teacher's Day again today. Had celebrations in PJC till about 12.30 then of course made my way back to KSS. However, John Eugene and some others were not going to go back until past 2.00pm. Therefore, since I had some time, I decided to go take a look at the Bukit Batok Driving Centre to see if I could get an interview with the TP there.
However, did not know how to approach the TP at the driving centre as I didn't see any TP around. Not wanting to waste time getting a queue number to ask the counter staff, I then left for KSS at bout 1 plus.
Got to KSS but there weren't many ppl left there. School ended at bout 10 plus so most students, even teachers, had gone off. However, some 4Dians were still around so went to join them while waiting for John. Hung around a little and then some of us went to Limbang for lunch. The western food stall auntie was so glad to see us. Then again, it has been quite some time since we patronized her stall huh?
So bought some fish and chips, although I usually dun eat from this stall, but seeing as she's so happy... well.
Left for home after that.

Accurate Aims!

Had our first morning GP lecture at 6.45am and was supposed to meet alan and Jordan at West Mall Mac for breakfast at 6.00 but got there late at bout 6.15 so had to "dabao". After that rushed to school and was luckily still not considered late.
Then after GP lesture ended and we were just hanging around in the LT, Jolyn accidentally splashed my back with PEPSI! Of course I didn't really mind.
After school we hung around at the cafe to do some work and wait for CCA to start. We then got bombarded by bird shit. Zzz... how come everything aim so accurate ar? At me!

Lost and Found

Lost my water bottle today and my handphone, but found my handphone back. Quite odd actually, was through with more than half the lessons on Monday when I realised that my water was not with me after Chem SPA exam. Planning to go look again in places where I've been to check if its been left there. Well, my handphone. Was done with the day's lessons and went out to Mac with the other guys for lunch. After leaving Mac, I realised that my handphone was missing. I got quite overwhlemed, losing two things in a day. Then Alan helped me call my phone and told me that it was off. Then I remembered that I turned it off and left it on the teacher's table for Chem SPA. Went back to look for it at the Chem lab and found it with some help from the lab tech.

Happiness meets up with my life again... three times:)

Celebrated National Day 2010 in school today. However, got to school late. Can't imagine that I actually got to school late for National Day celebrations man, don't think I've been late for National Day celebrations in school before, always go much earlier. Well this was due to EoM final draft to be submitted today so was rushing to complete it earlier this morning. Left house at about 7.15 as a result. Sure to be late. However, at least EoM final was done to the best of my ability.
Although I was late, somehow the National Day celebratory mode just could not be dampened. Was still feeling kind of happy as I walked through the school gates, late! Been late only once before this but still feel like there's sort of an "addiction" to being late already. Hahas.
Had lessons, Maths lecture and Chinese but everyone was very high and so lessons were a little disrupted. Oh ya, we were all dressed in red of course.
Had some activity with balloons which was quite a spectacle. We all gathered in the parade square and released red and white balloons, JC1s red and JC2s white. Then the balloons floated up into the sky. Whoas! Was a really wonderful sight! And the balloons became smaller and smaller and smaller...( hahas, had some problem with my balloon though and needed some help releasing it, coz I tied it too tightly)
Then had Chem remedial after celebrations and lessons and received back my Chem Equilibrium assignment. I got 8/10 for it! After so many tests, this is I think the first one which I scored so high. Well, I actually studied for the test this time. Second happiness.
After Chem had PW session from 2- 4pm. Mr Ivan came to return us our GPP before assembly and he had APPROVED our GPP finally! Was really happy again!
PW lesson was quite slack though. Just had some discussion among ourselves though didn't do much actually. Lying around here and there in MPR3. Kk signing off.

Another eventful day

Had Pe today and were actually supposed to be playing games. However, just after we started playing handball, the rain came and got heavier and heavier. Therefore we had to stop our games and ended up... doing pullups instead. 100 split among us 6 guys!
Well for me who has trouble even doing one, this is definitely a big challenge. Mostly the other guys did it - CK but I did chip in a little as well. Managed to complete it though but all arms were all strained. Quite an experience though.
Then had PW day after school. Some selected PW groups from various classes had set up booths to showcase their projects and to get students and teachers to complete their surveys. Quite okay lah, though a little bit of a bored at times probably coz I was feeing really lazy.
Mr Ivan approved of our WR 1st draft le though still waiting for him to get back to us for our GPP which we have editted at least 5 or 6 times to date. Must say, the ideas the group is coming up with is really very interesting. KK shall sign off... Loads to do.

Life's dealt me another great blow... think I'll just have to work harder?

Some interesting things have happened this past week. Shall blog about them.

Okay, start with Monday. Had practical on Monday as usual and we were doing experiments in preparation for the upcoming SPA exams already. We were to be calculating thermal energy given out when adding iron strip to acid. Well, what was interesting was that while doing the experiment, my iron strip just would not react with the FA3(ie. HCL). After trying for a few times, I decided to get XinPing's help and realised that the "solution" I had gotten was actually pure DI- water. LOLS! No wonder no reaction occured. Zzz...

Had 'A' Levels oral exams on Tuesday this week. But wasn't too worried about it though, having gone through the 'O' Levels Higher Mother Tougue oral exams. Question was about whether the opening of the casinos brought about more advantages or disadvantages. Well, didn't have too much trouble with it. Only a little bit when the examiner asked what other advantages other than bringing in more revenue and I was stunned. All in all, think they were quite satisfied.

Had CCA on Wednesday. Mr Leow briefed us on several upcoming events.
1. Crystal Growing Competition. I took part in it:)
2. CIP project. Probably going to be handled by CIP head, Kendra.
3. Science Demo Presentation 21st July(Wed) or 28th July.
4. Strutured Enrichment Programme. For us all in the club. Is a programme where science teachers give us lessons relating to science. Eg. Chem sketch, Physics croc, microscope etc.
5. Open House & orientation 2011 - Plan. We have 2 Open Houses. One which is external during Jan for new sec 4 students. Another which is internal to attract more current Pioneers to join Alchemist Club.
6. Science Week 2011. We've got to start planning for new demos and got to get ready equipment, apparatus and chemicals.
Egs. - Make Pet Rocket fly further
- Straw Struture
- Egg falling but doesn't crack. Sounds interesting eh?

7. We also need an Alchemist Club website - for oreintation and PJC Science Competition 2011
8. We've also got to present science facts to the members in the club weekly from now onwards, each taking his turn.
9. Alchemist Club has now also got a specific meeting timings - Wed 3- 6pm Thurs - 4- 6pm.

Thurs PE. MYE results.

The Slackest CIP ever... and the wettest ROFL!!

Woke up real early this morn at about 4. 20. Was due to the rain pouring outside though. Anyways was going to meet up with 10S13 to go for a CIP at East Coast Park. We were to be road marshalls at the ST Paper Chase, a running event for youths. Got to Cck MRT and boarded a bus that was catered for us. It was still pouring outside, time was about 6.15am.
When we got to East Coast Park at about 7.15am, it was pouring harder than ever.Lols.
The tents that were put up for the event were in the middle of some open grassy area near Ford Road. Once we stepped into the grassy area, our feet got soaked!
Literally soaked!
It was flooded all around. Regretted not wearing slippers.
So we just hung around under the tents and stood all the way for about 5 hours!
Well, why so long you may ask. The event got called off almost immediately after we got to East Coast Park actually. The organisers received information from relevant authorities that the persistent rain will persist till about 12.00pm. Therefore the participants started to leave a little while after our arrival. However, us volunteers were told to stay back to help out if the organisers needed help. So therefore, we just hung around and waited - for 5 hours!
My feet got really uncomfortable due to the soaking though but due to the long wait was much better as I got used to it. We didn't move around much as well, partly due to the discomfort and also to the fact that it was flooded all around, so not much place to move. Another problem was "nature's call". Standing around for 5 hours would sure result in the need for the toilet right? Well, it was no exception for me. I tried using the "portable" toilets placed there but the only one that was available for use was severly ruined, by mud I think. So I decided to walk down the stretch of cycling track along East Coast Park to find a public toilet.
However, remember that I said that the tents were put up in the middle of the grass patch? That would mean that I would have to get my feet really soaked going in and out of the grass patch area. Lucky for me, there were some big trees there which had big roots. I decided to walk on those to keep me off the soaked grass. It was a success as I could find tree roots to walk on all the way out to the cycling track. I then took a walk a little way down and found a public toilet not far off. It was still drizzling.
On my return trip, I saw something that made me stare. My path was blocked by a huge tree which had fallen and blocked the pedestrian path.I was quite surprised as I had never actually seen a tree fallen over before, just pictures. Secondly, I was quite surprised that I did not notice such a huge tree had fallen over on my way to the toilet. I then walked back the way I came, on the cycling track.
When I got back, everyone had disappeared. I saw them a some distance away standing in a sort of line and thought that the bus was finally here and we could go home. To my dismay, I found out that we were finally needed to help out. That is, to look for a missing bunch of keys. Standing in a straight line was so that we would have a thorough cover of the whole area. We then set out and after searching for some time still did not find the keys. Not long after that, our bus finally came and after the organiser gave us an apology for the failed event, we set off for Kalland MRT station. What a CIP!

After work is done... more work comes:)

After the MYE has ended -Hoorays!- comes Chinese 'A' level Oral Examinations. Recently just been informed by Mr So that 10S13's oral exams are on 12th and 13th July. Mine's on the 13th. So I've gotta start working again on my oral. Besides, there will be a PW discussion time set aside for us when we get back to school on the 6th, Tuesday. Hopefully we can fully utilise this time to discuss and finalise most of what we are going to do for PW as we wouldn't have much time for too much discussions and meetings due to the coming Promos.
We've also been informed of our new teacher who is Ms Haridas.
Kays signing off. Loads to do... very long weekend though, Monday's Youth Day!

The Rain Came... and washed everything away..

Went back to Kranji Sec yesterday evening with some friends for Cultural Fiesta Nite'. Hahas, just received news of it two days before by Tommy, he asked me if I was going back lols. Then I asked "Huh, what for?" Hais, idiot!
Met up with some of them , mostly 4D'09ians, at 6.00 for dinner at Lot'1 and ate at food court, ate fish soup. After that at almost 7, we decided to leave Lot'1 but then someone received an SMS. Said CFN is cancelled due to rain. Yeahs, it was drizzling then( Hais.. all the teachers' and students' efforts gone down the drain in preparation for this event. Some of them even rented costumes and most were dressed splendidly). LOLOL! We then had to make other plans. We finally decided to still go back to KSS to maybe visit the teachers? When we got to the gates, we were chased away by the security officers though, lols. However, persistent us gave a call to the other group who were previously with us and found out that they had gotten in. Therefore, we "sneaked" in by the side gate instead. Rofl!
Mainly hung around the canteen where most people were gathered. Most had already left for home though, teachers as well I think, cause didn't really see many teachers around. Only saw Mr Malek, Ms Koh and Ms Lai. Of course the security officers, who were persistent like us, went to the canteen to chase us again. But with so many people, they only made it as far as the Foyer before we stopped moving again. Then, when I finally stood for some time and looked around, I realised that KSS had a "Good New's Cafe" in front of the bookshop now. Hadn't realised it until now. Either it was very recently constructed or I just had not been observant enough to notice it before.
In the Foyer, it was now the teacher's turn to chase us out. Ms Lai started chasing us but it was again to no avail. It was only when the VP came out and said that they were closing the school that we finally made our way out of the school. It was only 8.40pm, much too early to go home! So we headed down to Limbang to get some drinks from "SweetTalk". I didn't need anything though and went to use toilet at Mac. Met Keith there. After hanging around abit, we then made plans to go for a movie at Lot'1.
Lot'1 was "flooded" with Kranjians, both past and present. Literally flooded! At least the arcade and cinema area was. Only Eugene, ZW, Wei Zhi and me went to watch the movie. We then bought tickets for "Ip Man - The Legend Begins". Didn't know another Ip Man show had come out. Me and Eugene paid and we went to hang around Lot'1 as the movie was at 9.35.
We made our way to the cinema at 9.20 but was stopped at the entrance. After a long time, during which we were playing with ZW's iPhone, we were then let in. The show was quite action-packed and had quite a good story line. Quite an interesting show. We all liked it I guess. At least I did, and Eugene too. Lasted about 1.30 hours and we left at 11.15 from the cinema. Made our way home after that.
Spent quite a memorable evening with Sec friends this evening. And also visited some places where I've not been a long time, such as Limbang. Went there and all the past memories of Limbang came flooding back. The foodcourt, Mac... all places where we used to frequent between lessons and afternoon lessons or choir practices. Hahas... hope to have such an outing again soon, maybe if CFN is postponed?

Rain after papers everyday and I still don't bring my umbrella

Hahas.. no school again today coz again no paper. Rather, it's that I've finished all my papers already. Last paper Chem was yesterday. A quick review of my papers...

First paper was GP before the hols started. GP paper was not too bad. Did a question on Environment and was quite satisfied with it. Hope to score well for it and keep up with Mrs Fadzleen's expectations.

Second paper was physics on the Friday on the last week of the June hols. As I've had little practice on Physics (ie. I haven't been doing my tutorials), this paper was really tough for me. Could do some of the questions which required open- ended answers and definitions but most of the calcuclation questions were GG for me. Hoping to at least get a passing grade for this paper and I've really got to work much harder for my physics in the coming months.

On Tuesday, I had Econs paper. I think I did okay for the Case Study section and answered the Essay question pretty well. Should be able to get good grades for my Econs paper, unless I get an "IR" for the Essay section. Hoping not to get that of course!

Wednesday was a killer. Had my chinese papers 1 and 2, chinese listening compre and Maths papers all in one day. Had listening compre first thing in the day and I was glad that I had a chance to take a paper in the hall. Well, due to having extended timing, I am having all my other papers in a classroom F1- 47. The hall was air conditioned for the exam (something I've missed out). Well, one can't have too much of a good thing, right?
After a short rest of 30 mins, it was Chinese Papers 1 & 2. Altogether 3 hours straight without any rest. After the extra time was added, it became a 3hour 45 min paper, almost 4 hours! As I needed time to revise for my Maths paper later, I requested to leave early should I finish the papers early, thinking that it shouldn't be a problem to finish off early. However, I changed my mind when I got to paper 2. Paper 2 was so difficult, unlike any of the practices I've done before. In the end, I fully utilised the 3hours 45mins to salvage what I could for the chinese paper and left for a 20min break before Maths.
As I didn't have much practice for Maths as well ( totally have not touched Functions and Inequalities), I faced problems again for my Maths paper. Again after adding the extra time, the Maths paper lasted more than 3 hours. All in all, it was almost 7 over hours straight of exams with little rest. Really drained after that.

Thursday was my last paper, Chemistry. Having done more practices and having had more time to read up on it, I felt more confident for this paper. That is, with the exception of Chem Energetics and Equilibrium. Majority of the questions seemed easy to me, some required some thinking and a few just could not be done. All in all, still not too bad, should be able to get quite good grades.

Think I've really got to plan a study schedule for myself for the coming months before the promos. Really got to buck up.
Even with the extended timing I am still having so much trouble with the papers, seriously..
Going back to KSS later in the evening for Cultural Fiesta. Meeting up with John, Eugene and Zhao Wei first for dinner.

And its been raining everyday after my papers and I still didn't bring my umbrella. The result is of course, a drenched me every evening when I get home.

Port Dickson Holiday

Went to some part of western Malaysia this week from Tuesday to Thursday called Port Dickson. Well sort of like a family outing for us for the last week of the June hols to do some fishing at the beach and just slack! Turns out that it was quite an interesting place where we could hear the waves from our chalet. The chalet is raised directly above the waters just along the shoreline and we could fish right from our chalet during high tides.
Mainly we just hung around the area which was a town and had our meals at restaurants there, mainly "Bak ku teh". That is, except breakfast. We had buffet breakfast every morning while we were there. Other than fishing, of course there was the beach to go to but I didn't go though.
So mainly was quite like other chalets around with swimming pools and all the other facilities.
Well, as for fishing, I didn't fish alot, maybe just once when I got there. Firstly, because it took really long for the fish to bite. I think it was probably due to the very strong currents in the sea while we were there. Secondly, as we weren't really catching the fish up to eat, needless to add that I don't really like eating fish, I felt there was no need to disturb the fishes by fooling them with a meal only to take them out of their comfort zone. Although we did free each fish that we caught, seeing the hook pierced through the fishes' mouth is still not a pretty sight. Thus, I decided not to fish too much.
We also took a catamaran out to sea on the second day and boy! The sunset was beautiful. Spent about three hours on the catamaran and slept about half the trip. Hais.. was really tired.
Had some seafood in the town area for the last night there which tasted really good. I realised that crab could also be eaten with a hammer. Hahas..
All in all quite a good holiday I'd say. Enjoyed the greenery and sea view there, also the fresh air. Took some pics also..

Needless to add, with so much to see and do, my homework laid forgotten once again...

Finally, Bukit Batok Nature Park

Went cycling yesterday evening at about 5pm. And I took a path I had never taken before. I went down the Bukit Batok Nature Park park connector. Finally, after some cycling, I found the park that I've been trying to locate. Cycled through the park and came out the other side. Then, followed the Dairy Farm park connector and came to Bukit Timah Road. Another place I've been trying to locate. Found two places, all in a day's work. Killed two birds with one stone man! After that tried to find my way back and got a little lost coz took a wrong turn but managed to get back at about 7.15. Quite a fruitful trip. Planning to go cycle again some time before school reopens.

I'M SEVENTEEN!!

Yeahs, today's my birthday again. And I'm 17!
And this year, quite suprisingly I might add, I received birthday greetings. Hahas, so many years my birthday has been forgotten by friends that I didn't even checking my phone for birthday greetings that this morn despite smses coming in I just ignored them. That's coz I didn't even considered that they might be birthday greetings. Rofl... and I slept in until almost 11am. Then I took a look at my phone and Whoa! birthday greetings. Really a surprise for me.
Then I went on to FaceBook and had a second surprise. It was literally flooded with birthday greetings on my wall. So my 17th birthday was not forgotten, Thanks to FaceBook. Hahas!

GPP IS FINALLY APPROVED!!!!

Went back to school today to return a stack of worksheets I took by accident into the class pigeon hole and saw my group's GPP. Took it and opened it and... found that GPP has been APPROVED! Hahas, finally after much waiting, GPP is approved. Now we have to work with our new teacher in Term 3 after school reopens for the implementation. Hais... more work to be done.

Actitvities for the past week( 02-07/06)

Okay will be blogging about some events that happened last week. Quite a busy week actually, despite it being the hols.
- Had Maths lessons on Tuesday( 01/06).
- Went for NTU Science activity on Wednesday( 02/06)
( 04/06) - Had Einstein's Cradle on Friday. I was an Ambassador in charge of Team 3 of De La Salle School. Was also an overall in charge of De La Salle School's groups. Hmm... went to "pick up" the primary 6 kids at the concourse at about 9am. Felt the activities for the day was quite fun and interesting. Hahas, immediately after the kid saw me, the first thing that they asked me was " Teacher, how much is your pay?" Rofl... I told them I was a student here and this was part of my CCA so no pay. Hahas... the kids were to be taking part in a competition as part of the activities of the day. However, as the questions were mostly of A level standard, the kids could not answer most of the questions. Thus, I felt the activities for the event were not really successful. Some of the kids might even have been confused a little and even got a little worried? As such, their answers to most questions were "teacher haven't teach".
Then again, it was also to a large part that the primary 6 students were not being initiative and "enthu" about the whole activity that might have resulted in it not being successful. For one, the students were not even interested in answering the questions for the competition. Furthermore, they were not thinking about how to answer the questions and were either handing all the work to one of the boys to do or just simply all not participating at all. Even when we tried to explain the concepts to them to help them in their understanding, they just simply were not interested. All in all, I think they learnt very little from this science activity as compared to other primary 6 students from other school such as Yew Tee primary, Bukit Panjang primary, Concord primary, Kranji primary and Unity primary. Most importantly, the DLS boys were not even reading the questions and trying out the questions. Sure do hope that is not their attitude towards their studies, their PSLE exams are just a few months away!
Anyways, the whole activity ended at around 1. 30 after the prize presentation. Needless to say, my team, despite all our efforts, received nothing.
( 04/06) cont'd - After the Einstein's Cradle, I met up with Wei Zhi and Tian Rui. Tian Rui wanted to go back to KSS to get his Graduation Cert and I decided to tag along after learning that the Graduation Cert was yet another Cert, a different one from the one we got on the day of the release of our results. Hahas, to think that I had been telling everyone that I had alr got my Cert when I hadn't. Mistake due to my assumption. Left PJ with Tian Rui for KSS after that, Wei Zhi went to library to study again. It was pouring heavily when we got to KSS. I went on ahead to the GO to ask for my Cert as Tian Rui wanted to wait for a friend. It was a black folder with my testimonial and other stuff inside, and a cert of course. Left KSS after that, by myself. Didn't meet any teachers this time round.
( 04/06) cont'd - Returned home after that and set off to Kluang, Malaysia, with my grandparents. Stayed over the weekend and attended a wedding dinner on Staurday. My parents only came late in the evening on Saturday so we had one day without my parents, hahas. I actually drank a glass of wine by myself on the wedding night. Cools!
Returned back to Sg on Sunday evening.

Science Activity at NTU

Went for some Science activity at NTU today. Was some Chem and Physics experiments sort of thing to let us try out some of the scientific equipment at the labs. There was also a Chem lecturer who gave us an intro of the subjects there and some students who took us for a walk around the labs and school. Woke up early as I had to be at Boon Lay Mrt station by 8.15am, then took a bus down to NTU. I would say the whole trip was quite interesting and an enriching experience too. I learnt about Random Walk for physics and something about finding the concentration of solutions for Chem. We then had lunch at NTU's canteen after the whole programme ended at about 2pm.

Yet another Dry Run for Einstein's Cradle

Went for another dry run for Einstein's Cradle again today. Had to be in school by 7 .45 in the morning though. Quite early for the start of the hols, lols. Dry run was smoother this time and every thing went well thoughout the whole session, lasted till about 12noon. Then I went back to Kranji Sec to return the choir blazer. Haiz... finally returned the blazer lolx. Drag for so long le. Just dropped it in Ms Ho's pigeon hole as she told me to. Didn't want to spend too much time there as well. But still, bumped into Mdm Yong just as I was leaving. Said a quick "Hi" and left.
Hmm... turns out that I will be having activities with the Alchemist Club on Wednesday as well. Going to miss some lectures again I think. Kk, shall sign off here, loads to do...Bye!

GP... GPP... then......GPPP?

Well, been a really really long time since I last blogged huh? Been very busy with school stuff, mainly PW since we have now moved on to GPP.
Well, its the 1st day of the June hols today, Vesak day actually, so no school. Shall blog about the more current stuff and the upcoming events. Basically had General Paper MYE yesterday which marks the start of the Mid Year Exams.
For the past week, haven't been doing much other than clearing off homework in preparation for closing of term.
Come tuesday, most of the teachers, Maths, Chem and Chinese teachers were not around so was quite slack. Lols.

Mr So placed me in charge of getting the class to complete some homework in class for chinese peroid and for Monday's lesson only six turned up. On tuesday none wanted to attend lesson. Zzz... so phail. Rofl.

Wednesday was mainly preparation for GP exam the next day so school ended early at 12noon. However, I stayed back in school for consultation with Mrs Fadzlin as she had specially booked the PW room for us to do consultations for GP. Took the time to write another essay for her to look through and had she felt it was good. Wrote another essay before this as well which got pretty much the same comments so was quite confident for the exam the next day. I did an essay on " Apart form making money, why work?" and "A marriage without children is meaningless. Do you agree?"
So for yesterday's GP paper, I did "Environmental protection is largely the responsibility of the state. Discuss." As it was an essay on environment, I was quite confident of it and it was not too difficult. Hope to score well.
Also just handed in my 1st draft of EoM ytd. Quite rushed actually cos I rushed home to complete it after GP exam and handed it in just after 12noon. Finally finished up Maths tutorial 5b and handed it in ytd as well with the class's chinese homework.

In the coming days and weeks, I have to attend some lessons on tuesday and friday and have also got a dry run of "Einstein's Cradle" which is a science event for some primary school students on Monday. The actual events will be held on Friday which means a full day in school again on Friday. On Wednesday, I will be attending a choir performance by my ex- choir, Kranji Choir which is guest performing for Tanjong Katong's concert. Met Ms Ho ytd on the MRT to CCK and bought a ticket already, hahas. Sure hope there are other choir seniors going.

By the way, MYE will resume when school reopens so there is much work to do during the June hols. Lols.
Also got back our GPP yesterday and so we have to look through it now and get it approved ASAP. We can then start the implementation of our project. Hmm, gonna be a really busy June hols.

A long and busy Weekend

Got back chinese test results on tuesday, did quite okay but still could have been better. At least, I was not the top in the class. I scored 73/100 for Paper 2 and 35/60 for Paper1. Apparently my Paper 1 was "li ti" but my last sentence saved me. Hahas, that was a stroke of intelligence ya know. But will try to do that less as really, that way of writing will bring about my downfall ultimately.
Therefore, I have decided to make time to write some chinese essays every weekend and GP essays as well as Econs essays. Then I will get the teachers to grade them.
Got back PI draft 2 on thursday as well. Got a slightly higher grade this time but still lots of room for improvement. Going to use the long weekend( due to Labour's Day in lieu of today) to redo my PI one last time before final submission.
Also had a Physics test just ytd and I feel that it was not very well done lols. Lots of questions I did not know how to do.
Here are several things I need to accomplish this weekend.
- Review all my Chem, Econs, Maths and Phy topics as much as possible
- Complete all my homework
- Do a write up of the PE project
- Complete the design for GC designing competition
- Revise for Chinese oral- Complete Chinese online homework
Going to end off here. Lots to do as you can see. Btw its also labour's day today so must work. Rofl:)

Chinese Talk on Writing

Went to a Chinese Talk ytd at ACS (Barker Road). It was actually a follow up of the "You Jing" workshop held sometime ago. It was quite an enriching and insightful trip though. Most Chinese writers from Singapore attended the talk and some even shared their experiences on writing. There was also a song writer who came up to share too and a fisherman who shared about the dolphins and whales from the sea. I loved that one best. That guy actually had the experience of being around dolphins and whales which is quite amazing, don' t you think? Most of the other writers shared about plants mostly.
One shared about her experience with "tan hua" and another shared his experience with a caterpillar turning into a butterfly on his plant. Quite amazing eh?
The talk ended with a Q n A session where some students from other schools asked some very interesting questions such as how to make more use of plants and nature in our writing. All in all, I would say this talk will be very helpful in my writing in the future.

PEs' KILLING ME!!!

Had PE lesson again ytd just like every other thursday. Mr Yap was again not around and so as usual a relieve teacher took over. And again we did Circuits, four rounds each within three minutes. That really drained all of my energy. Having PE consecutively on Wednesday and Thursday is seriously much too tiring. There is no break in between! But then again, might be that I'm just not fit enough?
On another note, I finally managed to find the Tic for Pioneer Panorama and has finally settled the arrangements for this Sat. I have literally asked every single one of S13 but all had given me a negative response. Thankfully Ming Yang kindly agreed to take my place. Thanks hellots!
Had a chinese test after school at 4.oo ytd as well. Despite the draining PE lesson, think I did fairly well. Hope to get good grades.

HSK Grade 6 exam

Went for HSK grade 6 exam two days ago on Sat 17/04 in the afternoon at St Joseph's Institution. Went out with my parents and they dropped me at the venue at about 1.30 so I was well ahead of time. I had sat for a similiar test like this, dun noe what grade, about 2 years back so was not too nervous. The test started at about 2.00 with listening compre first. About halfway into the listening compre, the system cocked up and we moved on to complete the second part first. The second part, "li jie", was not too tough I felt, though it was still a little rushed towards the end, probably due to poor time planning. After which, it was time for "shu xie" which we were to read a passage and then the passage will be taken away and we have to summarise it in 400 words. Quite interesting I would say, and I think I did pretty okay. The test ended about 4.45pm and we were told to wait while the examiners count the papers. However, some guys from dun noe what school kept making lots of noise at the back and this really infuriated the examiner. After that just went back home le lols. Hope I get good results for this test.

On a separate note, Pioneer Panorama has finally been settled on the 24th April, next Thursday, in the afternoon where we will be under another teacher. However, as I will be going for a chinese talk that afternoon, I still dun think I'll be able to attend. Haiz...

Class 10S13's chinese oral practice schedule has also finally been completed and updated. As of now, oral practices are on Fridays, starting from week 5.

Going for GC competition

Went for a GC designing workshop today. This is due to me having signed up for a GC designing competition from the school. Apparently winners of the competition may be chosen by the school to represent the school in a GC competition by VJC. Learnt quite alot from the workshop today and don't think I remembered everything, rofl. Basically its just using equations to form pictures.
Unfortunately, I still do not have any ideas as of now. Will try to come up with an interesting picture soon. Ultimately, winners are still decided by votes anyways.

Pioneer Panorama = STRESS!!

Had lots of problems settling the dates and times of Pioneer Panorama duty for my class. Why was I so stupid to volunteer as the leader? Should have known there would be so many problems. Hahas.
The duty of our class was on 17th originally, a Saturday. However, that clashes with the HSK chinese proficiency test which is to be held on the same day at about the same time. So I made a request for the teacher in charge of our class to change it. In the end, the date was changed to 24th, also a Saturday. However, that is the date of our chinese Week 5 test, again about the same time.
I then spoke to the chinese teacher yesterday and he said he will settle it. Hope it is settled soon and we get to go for the Pioneer Panorama. It sure sounds like fun!

T2Wk1 = SCIENCE WEEK!!

Wow, time really flies, its already T2Wk1. Lots have happened this week.
On Monday, got back PI draft 1 and went through it. There is much to ammend and the ideas have definitely got to be refined. Got an AE for it but wasn't too bad, there is still room for improvement. Got to hand in draft 2 by next Thursday.

Come tuesday, I had to do a NewsRoom presentation for GP which is graded. I was supposedly to be the last to do the presentation as my name was last on the class list but someone sabotaged me and ended up, I was the first to present. Zzz... But it did go quite well I would say. Mrs Fadzlin felt it was well done. Apparently I was to set an example for the class. All in all, quite a decent first( and last) attempt. We're only allowed to give the presentation once lols.

The highlight of the week was wednesday. This week was Science/Humanities Week and activities have been going on for the last two days of the week such as inter-class competitions, quizzes and other stuff. However, these didn't involve me, not until Wednesday that is. Of course, the Alchemist Club was in charge of the planning of activities for the Science Week and we were each given roles for the main activities which were to be held after school at about 3pm. The Astronomy Club and Eco Club also participated in the Science Week with displays of their own. Due to the Humanities Week having taken up much of the concourse for their activities, we therefore had only a little part of the concourse for displays. So what did we display? Hmm... science experiments of course! We had finalised on 10 experiments to showcase and it was really lots of fun. However, as most of the students had CCAs, I don't know why because CCAs were only supposed to start at 4.30, there were not many people who came to view the booths set up. This didn't dampen our spirits though. We still had lots of fun playing around with the experiments, especially the dry ice which one of the seniors had bought. Literally, we spent all time there playing with the dry ice and soap bubbles. Oh yes, the Alchemist Club also screened episodes of the "Brainiac" on the TVs around the school throughout the week which was very well received.

When the whole session ended that day, we were given a debrief and headed off upstairs to the room where we kept our bags to celebrate, enjoying some food there. Apparently Alchemist Club will be kind of slack from now on until the seniors step down and the new committee is formed.

I also succeeded in swinging a bottle round and round at least five times while practising for the demonstrations and also to make water "boil at room temperature".
Recently, lots of money have been spent on getting notes and money really does seem to be flowing away like running water, which is really irritating. Lols, Jie Xin just asked me this morning if I wanted to go to AJ's concert at Esplanade and I've agreed. Hais, that's another $16. Poof! Gone.

PI Draft 1

Going to talk a little about my PI draft 1 which I handed in just yesterday. It was really rushed though. The dateline was yesterday at 12noon and I finished it 5 hours before the dateline, at 7am before rushing off to school. Hahas... I am so proud of it. I was not late for school! Although it was not a perfect job, still for something that rushed, it was not too bad. Well at least I managed to get all the main points in.
Today is Good Friday though, so no school. But despite the long weekend, its still going to be quite busy.
Firstly, I need to revise my Econs which is really a problem for me at this point. Furthermore, my GP teacher has also requested for me to be the first to do the presentation for Newsweek, although I was supposed to be the last. So that means I'll be presenting next Tuesday and have to complete it over the weekend. Apparently she's expecting quality work from me as she is looking to me to set an example for the class.
And of course, there's the ever growing pile of homework to be completed as well.
Going to go cycling tomorrow morning to Jurong Point to get back my Breaking Dawn from Wei Ting. Not going very far.
Kayz... signing off.

Workload's piling up, though Physics is kind of slack.

Sentosa/ VivoCIty Outing with 10S13

So went for a 10S13 class outing with my new JC frens today. Supposedly was going to Sentosa to spend the day there. However, only a few of us turned up for the outing and only spent a short period of time at the Siloso Beach. After a while we started playing some frisbee but only for a little while and then not long after it started to rain. LOLOL. So we sat in the shelter instead of at the beach. Not long after though, we decided to go to VivoCity to shop. So it was about an hour or two spent at Sentosa before we went to take a shower before making our way to VivoCity. Once there, the girls decided to go shop and I literally spent three whole hours walking through the Page One bookstore browsing through books. After that we went to catch a movie "The Lazy Bones" about a girl who died but still can't accept that she is dead and then had some compliations. Then went for dinner and after that we sat at the rooftop garden to chit chat for quite some time until almost 11pm. All in all was quite a good trip, although quite a waste of time hahas.

Friday, March 26, 2010

Hmm... Josiah asked me yesterday why I am always so happy and told me that he even feels happy just being around me.

"You Jing" Writing Workshop

Right, so "You Jing's" Chinese Writing workshop just ended yesterday with a last lesson assessing the stories that we have written a couple of weeks ago.
All in all, the workshop has been a very fun one with much knowledge gained and more ideas to get inspirations for writing. Furthermore, I also made some new friends of course and learnt more about "You Jing". Just like most other good writers, she has also travelled around the world to many other places and has her fair share of experinces and insights in many different contexts.
Although my compo did not get selected to be published in the book by MOE, I was not really too disappointed. I didn't actually expect it to be chosen anyways coz just as usual, it was last minute work and really rushed despite having ample time to complete it. By this I mean about a week. How can a compo be good if its rushed? Seriously. I will do my best to change this habit of mine.
Finally, I think I really should read more chinese books to brush up on my Chinese.
I have also just got another "yuan" magazine yesterday for answering a question. That'll be two magazines so far, not too bad I feel.

Life in PJC is really fun and... hectic?

Yeah, that's what this post'll be about. My life at PJC from after the Orientation to now. So do expect it to be really really long. But it won't be a boring read.
Academic wise...
I'm a subject rep again, self- volunteered of course, but no longer a maths rep. I'm a chinese rep now. Thought it will be an easy job like last time, just collecting homework, but no, I still have to to take the initiative to go down to the boookshop to collect notes for the class and collect money for the notes as well. As I'm not really good with counting money, you can be sure I made a total blunder of the first notes collection and I had to collect the payment for the notes. Seriously, money was not in the job description when he asked for volunteers for CL rep. Now Mr So, chinese teacher, is just passing mssgs to the class through me by SMS.
I've also finally settled into the Alchemist club and started working on experiments for Science Week in April. Going to take part in a competition on Sat as well.
Slowly getting more used to lectures and tutorials though rushing from class to class still makes it kind of hectic. We aren't supposed to be late more than 5mins for lessons and that seldom is an easy feat. The classes can be so far away sometimes.
On another note, I have been hanging around with the only other guys in my class so far, Alan, Jordan, Ming Yang and Chee Koon, daily that is, moving from class to class and even during breaks. So at least I am still able to get to classes on time.
Academics aside, I just bought a shirt for cycling and some head and rear lights for my bike. So my bike is finally equipped to go night cycling.
Finally, with the holidays coming, I have also begun getting textbooks for all my subjects so as to do revision during the hols.

Kk, shall sign off here.

First Day of lessons

17/02 - Really excited today as we will finally start lessons after being in school for almost three weeks. Looked at the timetable and saw that the recesses were all at random timings, unlike before where recesses were at a fixed timing every day. Started off with PE first today and headed down to the Grand stand after morning assembly. Waited for quite some time but the teacher still did not come. Then the teacher of the class next to ours told us that our teacher, Mr Alvin Yap, was absent from school today and so we joined her class in a trial run for the Road Run on Friday. Whew! Was a very long distance to run for me as I haven't ran for quite some time. Ran only 3.2km but was alr tired out. Guys have to run 4.2km for the run though, wonder how I'm going to accomplish that.
After PE I went to the staff room to look for Ms Chan, my CT, as she told me to. She then brought me to see the school counsellor to discuss my medical condition and to see how they could help me in my academic studies or if there was an emergency. They were really wary of keeping my condition confidential though, asking me if I would mind if my other tutors and classmates know about my condition. Of course I didn't mind! Hahas...
The meeting with the counsellor took up almost all of my recess and I had time to only put on my uniform quickly before rushing off to Physics lesson at classroom G2-70. My Physics teachers were Mr Loh and Mr Tan and they will be alternating between themselves to conduct lessons. Mr Loh conducted today's lesson and it was quite fun and relaxing actually. We did Measurements and SI Units today. Of course, there were tutorials for us to do. Lols...
After Physics was Econs. Nothing much for Econs as well, just some introduction about Micro Economics and a little about what we will be studying. No homework for Econs though, we just have to read up our notes.
Assembly was next and it was a programme to commerate Total Defence Day. Some teachers came up to share their NS experiences and there was also a policeman who came to speak about Unlicensed Money Lending and a fire fighting demonstration by SCDF. School ended at 2pm.
I went for my first Alchemist Club meeting at 3.00 at the cabin classroom after a call from Kah Sheng. The meeting lasted only 30 mins which was quite a relief for me as I was really tired and drooping off to sleep. Apparently the club was formed only last year and the current members are also the ones who got the club started from scratch. Basically the club is all about giving us a chance to be creative and attempt experiments which we are interested in. Not many ppl joined though, only about 10+ or 20. There was also CIP activities that the club takes part in which will help us get more CIP points. Currently thinking of taking up one of the leadership roles as the current JC2s will soon be stepping down. Thinking of filling the post for VP lols. Rofl! Sure hope to be able to get it. Left at 4.30pm after that.

Day 12 at PJC

12/02 - Went back to KSS after attending celebrations in PJC. Well, all the Kranjians in PJC went back together lols. So it was quite a big group of us heading back to KSS. However, as celebrations ended at 11.30 at PJC, we got to KSS kinda late and activities there had alr ended. However, at least our efforts were not wasted. Some teachers were still in school, such as Ms Sim, so we took the time to chat with them. Of course, there were others from the other JCs who went back too. So the school became dominated by graduates of KSS'09 as more and more teachers left. Hahas, sure is good to get back to KSS with Kranjians.

Day 11 at PJC

11/02 - Slept through the whole night in the hall. Wasn't too bad actually, though some others complained that it was very cold. Woke up only once throughout the whole night. Had buffet breakfast in the canteen again after cleaning up and we were off for our activities again.
First up was station games again. Hmm... but Jia Hui went with us this time and I felt it wasn't as high as before. Anyways, point is, we still had lots of fun. Alan and I didn't spend all the time with the class though. After lunch I think, we had to go off to join the other BABYLONians who were performing for the Finale Night.
We started practising from about 2.00 and as most of us still could not get the dance steps, we requested to skip all the other activities thoughout the afternoon. Heh, very devoted huh? So we basically practised all the way to 6.00, which was the time to gather in the hall for Finale Night.
Even as we were preparing to go on stage, I had doubts about the performance being a good one. So many of us still were not familiar with the dance steps as more and more different and complicated steps kept on being introduced while we were practising, even before we had perfected the ones before. Therefore, I wasn't very optimistic about the performance.
We were told to change into the Orientation T-shirt and the school's black pants, which I didn't have, so I wore my track pants which was much too long. So I didn't wear shoes, lol. Before I knew it, we were due for the performance.
To my surprise, the performance turned out to be not so bad after all. Not that we remembered the dance steps but the feeling of being back on stage performing was really great. Much of the dance I was looking at the others for directions on what to do and how to do the dance steps. However, although the whole dance was quite messy I felt, the ending was done perfectly, and it was the one thing which made us stand out above the rest. We formed a human triangle at the last beat. Lols that one was cool. Anyways, it usually is the last bit of a performance that leaves an impression in the audience so I don't think the audience quite remember or even noticed the messy dance. All in all, it was really fun and I am glad that I volunteered for this performance.

Day 10 at PJC

10/02 - Had lots of fun today. Was to have a 2D 1N camp starting from today. We played station games throughout the day with our OGL, Young Bin, leading us in cheers and songs throughout the games. Needless to say, we got many points for almost all our games as we were really "high", owning all the other clans in station games... Hahahas! So station games lasted throughout the morning and we had lunch, catered food, in the canteen. In the afternoon, I volunteered to participate in the clan dance for tomorrow night's Finale Night and so me and Alan left the group and went to join in the discussions for the performance for the following night. We practised a little of the dance steps as well and decided on the songs we were going to use. Much of the day was spent dancing I guess, all the way till dinner time which was in the canteen again. Buffet!
After dinner was the highlight of the camp. At least I felt it was. Night activities!! We were to go around the school as a class to complete acitivities to get pieces of a puzzle which will form a picture of where the "princess" is. This is our aim, to compete between clans to find the "princess" first. The school was dark, mind you. Each class of the clan will be taking part in different activities so as to get diffrent pieces of the puzzle.
This time Jia Hui went with us and we completed each of our activity in record time, leaving lots of time for us to slack. Therefore, Alan and Ming Yang went around the school to look for the " Value Card"s which will allow us to exchange missing pieces of the puzzle which we did not get. So we divided the work and while ew completed activities, they went to search. With each activity completed, I can't help but feel that the class was really bonded.
By the time we completed all the acitivities, Alan and Ming Yang had also returned. Not empty handed mind you, but they had found all the "Value Card"s in the school and brought them back, even those not for our clan. So now we had the upper hand and could exchange for puzzle pieces or bargain with the other clans. Well, as we all gathered back at the hall for the results, naturally it was BABYLON who saved the "princess"! Woohoos! "The princess will marry King Leon". The cheering was overwhelming. Young Bin and the other OGLs kept saying that we were too "zai". Hahas... sure was fun that night. Went back to the hall after that, to sleep.

Day 9 at PJC

Day 8 at PJC

08/02 - Well, finally been sorted into classes and we got to know our MGs. I am in 10S13 but none of the other Kranjians got into the same class as me. Of course, that will mean that our OGLs are different as well. They are Jia Hui, Young bin( he's a very cute and funny korean guy, lols). However, as 10S13 is still part of Babylon, I still get to see Samuel, Kah Sheng and Hui Ying often.
First thing after assembly we went to our class to meet up with our CT( Civics Tutor), Ms Chan. We then handled some admin matters such as filling in forms, giving our HP nos. and email adds. to the CT and getting to know the CT. Then, we were off to play some class bonding games. Oh yeah, I also realised that 10S13 has more girls than guys, much to my surprise. Having been with 4D'09 for the last two years, this sure is quite a change. Like there were only 26 peeple in the class and only 6 guys!!? Still, luckily there were not 40 people in the class and only 6 guys. Yeah, so our class is dominated by girls. Well John and the others were luckier. Most of them got into classes with other Kranjians or even getting into the same class.
Kk shall end off here, wait for news of tmr!

Day 7 at PJC

05/02 - Hmm... can't really rmb what i did in the morning that day. However, went for the second ODAC trials in the afternoon after school. Of course, I was really looking forward to the trials and quite ready to give in my best for whatever they were going to have us do. Heard that the trials for that day would not be as fun as on Wednesday so I had my mind prepared for some tough physical training. However, what was in store was nothing like I expected.
Firstly, were told to do some simple activities like push ups, "invisible chair", " aeroplane" and crunches. I completed all successfully and without much trouble. I thought that was all but there were more. Then we were brought to another station where we had to hold up a conteen bench with our arms at 90 degrees for a certain period of time before a short break and then continuing with a longer time period. Like 30s, then 1min and then 2mins... After the activities before, I felt my muscles aching for this activity and my legs kept shaking. With some help from the seniors, I again managed to pass this round. We moved on to the running tracks after that for some running. After a few rounds, dun noe when, a teacher came over and made us do push ups whenever we were not together when we were running. This happened a couple of times until my arms were totally weak. After that we were to move on to the field where we were told to lie in cruches position and then in "Superman" position. We learnt that he was the Tic of ODAC. He then told us about how ODAC was not as fun as we thought, that the seniors climbed stairs as training and how they were constantly scolded by him... As 6.30 drew nearer, I decided to leave. ODAC was just not my idea of a CCA, what with the stress of JC life and ODAC instead of letting us releif that stress, adds on to it. Zzz... So then I turned to JY beside me and asked if he wanted to leave. He didn't give me a direct reponse though and so I just upped myself, got my bag and left. You Kang left as well.
Despite feeling weak and aches all over my body, I felt it was a good experience. It was an insight into how the Sports CCAs train during practices. As I was very warmed up from all the physical activities, I decided to walk all the way back to CCK Mrt station.
Later, John told me that what the Tic did was just for show only, that ODAC was quite fun and the Tic friendly. Hais... whatever it is, this still feels quite stressful for me. Going to consider joining Alchemist club though, since I got rejected by all the sports CCAs that I signed up for.
