Weekends just passed again and its Monday again. Yeah, the last weekend before CNY!! its "chu yi" on Thurs so celebrations on Wed and only two days of school this week... hurrays!! As such, we were running Friday's timetable today and so had PE.
As usual, did Softball again. However, this time we removed our shoes since our shoes became really muddy the last time due to the rain. This time was the same, PE right after a heavy downpour. So we went into the mud... squish, squish, squish... quite disgusting even though I had anticipated myself for it. Like stepping into "poop", ya noe. Wait!! I haven't stepped into "poop" before, how would I know!?
Anyway, started with the game and tried to get used to the mud. My group started fielding first. Not even one round and our legs (yes I mean legs and not feet)were already covered with mud. Some even had the mud all the way up the thighs. After not too long, the batting team had three outs and we changed over. Bout the second round of batting I started to realise just how slippery the field was. After my feet was caked with mud, it became very difficult to get a grip on the muddy field when I was sprinting to the get to the bases. That led to me slipping and falling over twice. Both was due to me rushing for the next base and trying to stop suddenly which resulted in a slip. Same thing happened at the home base where I fell a second time. Then I think someone commented on my second fall and the PE teacher told whoever it was that I did it deliberately, that I was sliding to get to my goal. Nooo... I wasn't that esperienced yet! I really had been slipping, those were accidents. Haha... anyways seems like someone does appreciate that.
As a result of my falling twice, it is obvious that my shorts were wet and muddy already. So much for having to try to get used to the mud. Since I was already muddy, I was able to ignore the fact that I would get myself muddy as I already was. Therefore, I was able to participate more actively as well, which was a good thing.
Didn't change out of the PE attire though. Was really muddy it would just make things worse. So I waited for the mud to dry off and just swept off the sand. Then we went for wrapping of our class hampers. Didn't take very long, was quite fun also... the wrapping.

First Day of School for 2011 JC1's
Thursday today. Monday was the first day of school for the new J1s into PJC. Well, that signals the end of the J2s' "monopoly" of the school grounds... hahas!!
Anyways, besides not being the only ones in the school anymore, there was also the problem of the morning squeeze on the bus, the prossibility of being late as a result, and the long queues in the school canteen during breaks as well. Well, despite being aware of all these, I was still caught quite unaware.
It was probably due to the fact that there were lesser people taking the bus for quite a period of time already, bout almost a month, and the fact that there was no squeeze for this past month, that I was quite unused to the morning squeeze that morning. Wow... forgotten how squeezy the bus was in the mornings, what with the students from secondary schools, primary schools and PJC, plus the working crowd fighting to get on the buses. And that's despite there being 3 or 4 buses that we can take, mind.
When I got to school, was greeted by OGLs chorusing " Welcome to PJC... " at the school gates.
Had assembly in the parade square as usual, without the new J1s though and then went for lessons.
When break came, the canteen was literally filled already... filled with screaming and shouting J1s cheering. Compared to before when we could just walk into the canteen and find many empty tables and just choose any table to sit at, today we had to search for an empty table, which was not easy at all. Thankfully, the queues for food were still not that bad as most of the J1s still had MG activities, and were gathered around groups of tables joined together, hence the explanation for the lack of tables, there wasn't that many J1s queuing to get food yet.
Going home after school, again the squeeze for the bus. Its like "fight your way up the bus or WAIT!!!" Guess we just got to get used to it... the new year has begun!

Alumni Choir
Went to SOTA today for the second choir meeting. Met Kheng Hian at Dhoby Ghaut Mrt station at 11.30am but was late. Got there bout 30 mins late and thought I would be the last. But some others were later than me lols --- my seniors. Yea... didn't expect Chee How Tian Jun and gang to come along as well. Then again, its alumni choir wad. Anyways walked over to SOTA at Prinsep Street... whoa, then realised that I did know how to get there. Its just beside Cathay Cineleisure. LOLS!! Thought it was somewhere "foreign".
Practice had already started when we got to our venue... duh! Then later Ms Ong stopped and talked to us abit and we separated for sectionals. Ms Ong listened to my voice again and made some corrections to how I was singing... really basic stuff actually. Stuff like lifting of cheekbones, tip of tougue should be placed at the front of the mouth so that sound is not blocked. Hais.. too long no sing liaoz.
After that had sectionals. Again of course I was the one playing the piano and since SL Kwong Hong isn't around, I led them in practising the song --- Linden Lea. Not a new song actually, sung before but when just before we were in Sec 3, during a choral workshop. Haha... turns out that I didn't need to worry, after leaving Kranji Choir, all of us had not sung for quite some time, so all needed some getting used to it as well. Actually, some of the senior guy are in the army alr. Oh ya.. I forgot! So that's why they've got such matching hairstyles with their hair cropped so short. I had thought that it was a new IN thing for guys. Lols! So they didn't have much time to do much singing as well. Managed to get through with the song though, which was lucky coz like I said... we haven't really touched music nor sung much for almost 2- 3 years, me including playing the piano.
Den got back together again for some combined practice. Then the unexpected happened. Conductor Ong was asking for someone to stand out to lead and to play the piano, asking among us who was most qualified. I wasn't thinking too much about it coz " it couldn't be me right". So many seniors around. However, later turned out to be she was waiting for me to stand out. Lolol!!! Suddenly got a feeling of deja vu. Yeah.. this happened before on some of our practices last time when I was still in Kranji. Why can't she be more specific. She knows that I not really confident leading, especially in Combined. Then she asked what Grade I was in. I hesitated... then said Grade 6. She didn't seem too happy. Must have thought I would be in Grade 7 or 8 by now as I've said before. Haiz... but I failed the exams mah, wad to do! Lucky for me, she also had the other sections leaders come out to lead as well. At least not so nervous with more ppl leading with me. Managed through with the song. Turned out that Bass was the most familiar with the song. The other sections all cmi. That was coz they got the Midi, although no pianist.
See, midi so impt. Made me kinda guilty. Could have downloaded the file into my phone or smth but was too lazy to do it. So didn't.
Well, apparently Conductor Ong booked that room in SOTA specially for us to practice and it was only up till 1.30pm. Oh... I thought it was going to be another 3 or 4 hours long practice like last time in choir. Then again... quite good of her, she paid the rental in full by herself.
After that settled some admin stuff like collecting Hp nos. and email adds. and discussing the setting up of a Kranji Alumni Google Account and then we were dismissed. Practice as usual next Sunday, same place, same time.
Walking back, I tried to familiarise myself with the way to get to the venue. Coz think I'll have to go by myself the next time. Gonna set out earlier so as to reach Prinsep Street earlier so as to have enough time to find my way there. Seriously, its a maze inside the building. Hope I dun get lost next week... wish me luck, coz my Sense of Direction suck!

Choir!!
This post will be about choir.
It's been almost 2 years since I last saw that word appearing in my life. So it all happened just yesterday evening, following a phone call from my ex- choir president, Kheng Hian...
I was told that our choir conductor was forming a Kranji alumni choir and was invited to join. I was seriously quite taken by surprise, even when I saw that it was Kheng Hian calling me. But of course, I gladly accepted and thus settled to meet up for a practice this morning at 9.30am at KSS. After hanging up the call though, I felt panic start to creep in. Not due to having committed to choir though, but coz I haven't sung with a choir for quite a long while( since when I last left Kranji Choir bout 2 years ago), and that I haven't been in touch with music for almost just as long a period of time. Yes, that means not having touched the piano as well which will be a problem if I've to play. I was also quite sure my voice was kinda "rusty" and that I would probably be croaking rather than singing. Another worry was of going back to Kranji Sec. Frankly speaking, I haven't been going back to my sec school that often and the thought of going back always makes me panic, especially entering the school alone. Dun ask me why.. it's just like that!
Anyways, managed to wake up early this morning and rushed down to KSS, reaching just slightly after 9.30. My worry of meeting teachers was instantly gone when I saw the empty school. There wasn't even the security there and so I just walked in and headed to outside of the art room. Not many came back though. Saw some familiar faces, some good frens. Well, apparently I was the only tenor back again. Then we chatted while waiting for our sets of scores to be printed. After that went into the art room and joined the rest of the choir. They were singing a piece which I did not know so didn't really sing much. Only like about 30 mins into the practice did I realise that we were practising the SYF set piece. Wow... no wonder the conductor was being so "picky" with the details. Did try to sing a little after a while and at bout 11.10, the practice ended.
Well, apparently the Alumni Choir isn't going to take up too much time but from what I see, just to help out with the current choir and for the alumni to get together. Practices are on Saturdays from 9.oo. So, I'm just going to join the Alumni Choir for now and take part as actively as I can as I will have to spend more time on my studies towards the end of the year.

Updates for the start of year
Well, this is the third day of school already. Just some changes to our lessons.
Some changes in our teachers. Basically, Econs and Maths teachers still remain. However, Ms Chan is off on a maternity leave having delivered her baby girl. So we've got a new Chem teacher, Mrs Tan.
Physics teacher Mr Tan is still the same as well, but PE has a new teacher as well, Mr Kwok.
Some changes to the lessons as well. We now have one more hour for each of our H2 subjects every week. And of course, there are no mroe chinese and PW lessons, so that means we end school slightly earlier. However, that's for self studying of course, not to have fun.
Looking forwards to a great year ahead, and smooth sailing to A levels with lots of hard work. So now will start off the year right by completing my hols hws first.. hahas, ciaos!

School begins for me!!
Today's the official last day of Hols for us JC students. Yeah.. tmr we'll be going back to school.
We'll it's not such a bad thing, at least for me. Been wanting to go back to school for quite some time already. Somehow, was really starting to be a little not used to the stagnant life of the Hols.
Having had such a long holiday and am starting to get a little slack. This has thus led to boredom and staying at home daily for hours watching TV. At least in going back to school, I'll be able to meet up with frens again and at least not be so bored.
Well, then again... I still haven't started on my school hols hws yet. lols...

10S13 class gathering
Yup.. had our first 10S13 class gathering on Friday, the 7th. It came in the form of a BBQ in the evening at Jolyn's condo.
Anyways, started with me meeting up with the other guys at IMM at 4pm. Got there slightly later than planned as I went to collect the 'otah' that I ordered from 'Lee Wee Brothers' at a nearby hawker centre - 40 uncooked 'otahs'. Then rushed back home to drop off the 'otahs' beofre rushing down to IMM.
Got there and realised that only Ming Yang and Jordan were there. Went around and picked up a few frozen stuff and the paper plates and utensils, plus all the tongs and metal grilles etc. When they went to queue to pay for the food, Josiah came! Hahas... was really quite some time since I last saw him, was really glad to see him! Then I rushed back home again to pick up the food items left in my fridge and somehow managed to haul them all the way to IMM. Quite some distance, mind you! Then a stranded trolley at the entrance of IMM gave me some relief. Met up with the others again and we left for Jolyn's condo. Of course, now we shared the load amongst us four.
Took a cab from Jurong East MRT station as the food items were really just too heavy. Hahas.. guess we bought too much food huh? Got to Jolyn's condo and started setting up all the stuff, including starting the fire. Before long, most people had already arrived and we had cooked lots of food. So we started eating and trying to finish up all the food. Mostly we took turns at BBQing the food, but it was mostly only just us guys doing it. Come to think of it, it must be the first time I've actually BBQed at class BBQs. Mostly the food are all cooked by others.
As night fell, we soon became really full. Seems that the food bought was really too much. We decided to BBQ all the food and then try to finish them up. We then tried to settle down to play some games and the penalty would be to help in finishing up the food. However, did not play too many rounds and then stopped.
At bout 10.30, we were told by the security officers there that we had to clean up and pack up. We then stopped our chatting and did so. It was really nice of the officers to help out in the cleaning up too. Then we had the officers help us finish off the food, which was still quite alot, like two trays full!!
After much chasing by the officers, we finally made to leave. We said our goodbyes and each left either for the Lrt or bus station. Quite a gathering eh! Well, at least I enjoyed it, helping out in preparing and all that. Hahas... I was full to bursting point!

10S13 class BBQ
10S13 finally decided on a BBQ rather than a chalet for our class gathering this year. Gonna be held later today. Hahas... I volunteered to help out with the buying of food and all (plus marinating the chicken wings). This would be the first time I'd helped out with class BBQs. Most of the time just went and the food was all prepared.
So met Jordan at IMM Giant yesterday at 1pm and went to buy food. At first thought only going to buy some stuff mainly just the chicken wings, but as we went around, the amount of food items we picked started increasing quickly. Before long, we had a huge basketful of food items, and that was still not all we had to buy. Going to buy utensils, BBQ equipment, drinks and some other food stuff like satay and otah later as well. For yesterday, we bought crabmeat, cuttlefish ball, chicken wings, stingray ... and some sauces for marinating. All in all, this costs us only $38.95. That's coz we've got a CapitaLand voucher of $35.. hahas!
Got back home at bout 2pm and started by defrosting the chicken wings. Took quite some time so marinated stingray first.
Chatted while we worked, and finished off at 3pm. Going to go shopping again later, meeting up again at IMM at 4pm.

Last weeks of 2010 Hols
Gonna blog bout some stuff that happened in the last week of Hols for the year 2010. Nothing academic though, not really touched my homework yet. Firstly, finally managed to meet up with Debra on 29/12 to pass her the teddy bear which I bought for her from Korea. Had couple of times tried to schedule a meeting with her but she wasn't free. So finally met up when she was free. Hahas.. she also baked me some cookies. Really nice of her!
Couple of days later finally managed to schedule some time to go bowling at Chevrons. However, was not a good experience. Not that the bowling was not fun, but that I sprained my ankle really badly on one of the throws, JUST TO HIT ONE PIN!!! thankfully that pin did fall over, otherwise my injury would have been for nothing! So a badly sprained ankle for a "SPARE", not too bad lah.
Actually after the throw the ankle was still okay. Was still able to jog home mind you. But then the next morning the ankle started to hurt really badly, such that I had to hobble to move from place to place.
Then another couple of days later, went to a Chinese massage clinic and after the physician there bent my foot back and forth a couple of times, the ankle did not hurt anymore - not one bit! It was still hurting a lot just before I saw the physician! Really quite amazing!!
Ankle's okay now. Able to walk around twist it around, maybe even go running. Hahas.. but will leave that till later, still a little swollen, dun wan to worsen the ankle again.. hahas.

New School Year 2011
Yup! Today's the start of the new school year 2011! But not for me... yet. Sec sch, Pri sch and all Poly have started school already. However, I'm in JC and school only starts on the 10th, next monday.
Hahas.. feels quite good actually, seeing everyone around me going to school and I get to stay at home.
Seems like we JC students have another one more week to relax and "play" before another hectic year of JC starts. This may be true for some, for those who have completed their Hols Hw that is. For a majority, I noe that there are many out there, including me, who have spent much of their hols relaxing and playing around. For such ppl, me included, this last week will be for major revision of JC1 work and to complete Hols Hw. Not that there's enough time, of course.
But at least, I'll try!
Still have loads to do though. Hols hw not really begun doing yet.
Then again, will try to do some relaxing stuff after completing my homework and revision. After all, JC2 will be a really hectic and tough year.
