An extremely looong day out

Home! Finally! Been a really long day out for me. Spent the whole day at school. Literally.
Started off the day with Physics MYE in the morning. Dad fetched me to school. Whew! Lots to bring. Well, the Physics paper didn't go too well, still require much practice lol. Shan't elaborate.
Anyways, I brought lots of things as there was a rehearsal for Einstein's Cradle in the afternoon after Physics MYE. So spent the past weekend buying all the stuff that we needed for the rehearsal. Then, I had gone home to set up the star constellations using the lights and it all went quite smoothly. Overall really satisfied with it. Well, this will be the last rehearsal before actual event on Friday. Still lots to do and much still not really prepared man, hais...
Oh yeah! Finally got a laptop alr! Hahas, first post on my laptop here now! Samsung one. Been using it and so far still quite okay to use. It was really quite unexpected. Had been asking for a laptop for quite some time and my parents did agree but didn't expect to get it so soon. Was kind of expecting it to only after my A levels hahas. Anyways, still elated that I've got it.
Really tired out now. Only just left school at 7pm after the rehearsal. Literally spent a whole day in school. Couldn't move ard much in school too cause of the many things that I was carrying. Hiaz... Finally managed to lug everything back home by almost 8.30! Hmm... kind of feel that rehearsal lasted a little later this time around. Must be because it's the last one before the actual event? Some of my juniors were still deep in discussion even after I left. Hardworking eh! My team's the best!!
I was really too tired to hang ard anymore so left before them. One over hour to get home. Thankfully, the bus trip was quite smooth and it wasn't too crowded. Muscles totally aching alr. Physically and mentally drained.
So... ciaos!

JC2 Mid-Year Exams

Mid-year exams for us JC2s just kicked off yesterday with GP paper. Well as usual, don’t think I did very well for the GP paper, especially for Paper 2 compre. Well, as such hoping to pass though seriously shouldn’t just be hoping for that now that it’s the Mid Year’s already. Still, I have got lots to work on for GP. Time is flying by and if I don’t hurry in my revision, Prelims and even the A levels will be here before I can get decent grades for GP. Anyways, having H1 Physics next Tuesday and the other H2 paper only after the holidays. Need to brush up lots of content and lots of revision to do too… Hais.. jiayous lol!!!

Time is flying past... leaving me behind

Things really seem to be speeding past very quickly these days. Just one more week of Term 2 and it's the 1 month June Holidays. Immediately following that is the Mid Year Exams. And we would have entered Term 3 in July with just a few more months preparation to the A levels. Somehow I'm still not very prepared.
Had my last practical session just recently. The practical exams. Despite having been given an opportunity to complete the last question of the paper, which I usually do not have time to complete, I still did not manage to complete the whole practical exam within the the time limit. Rushed through towards the end and just wrote wahtever I could. Hope to at least secure a pass. Really got to work hard for my Chemistry paper then. Can't depend on my practical grades. Haiz...
Well, as said, Mid Year Exams are arriving. Next Friday will be the GP paper and following Tuesday is H1 Physics. Still got lots of revision to do. Syllabus are also almost complete with the MYE approaching. Well, at least I'm better able to grasp the content being taught in lessons but like I said, more revision needs to be done to internalise concepts and recall last year's work.
June holidays are going to be extremely important for my revision!

Updates on Alchem CCA

Okay thought I'd start off posting again with some updates on the event that we're planning for my CCA. Well, preparations for most of the booths have already kicked into full swing and most have already got ready all their materials and started testing out the experiments that they will be carrying out. Most, that is, except mine.
So far still been having some problems getting the whole group that's under my charge together for some discussion. I've split the 15 of us into 3 smaller groups comprising 5 each and each have started work on coming up with ideas for their booths. Got their emails on their proposals some time back and looked up the teacher in charge to have a look at the proposals. Well, he has since accepted all three proposals after some ammendments and we have started coming out with the materials that we will be using for our booth activities. Got some picture cards, done up by one of the groups, laminated as well just last week. Hahas, but forgot to get a receipt! Can't claim the money I guess-- $12.50!!

Shall deviate a little... Had the first dry run for the event last Friday after school where our booths were visited and checked. As we had not really gotten ready yet and most of the supplies that we need were still missing, I was really kind of worried. Thankfully, heard that it was only just the ushers who would be doing their rounds so it was them that we had to present our booths to. Therefore, went to LT4 as planned and improvised with whatever we had. Had brought along a laptop, which was lucky coz we used that to source for information to use in our presentation as the decorations that were supposed to be up had not been prepared. Really poor planning actually. Very unprepared. Furthermore, it was also the first time that the whole group is in LT4 together and we have yet to figure out the positioning of our booths! Of the three groups, there was also one whole group missing due to extended lessons. Therefore, it seemed almost impossible to get through with the dry run. Time was really tight! We had only 20 minutes! We got ready what we could and dreaded the time when the ushers arrived.
Although the dry run started at 6pm, it was about 6.45pm that someone actually arrived at our booth. Given the long wait, we had of course ample time to make preparations and plan things out. Anyways, only one person came in and he looked quite surprised when he learnt that he was the only one there. We then proceeded with our explanation of the booths and what we were planning to do and after that, he left. No one else came after that. Very lucky.
We stayed until past 7pm in the lecture theatre but saw no other ushers arriving. We hung back to discuss how we could better use the LT to our advantage. By playing around with the lighting, we also saw that the lights were kind of staggered( ie. the lights weren't turned on and off in rows). Therefore, we decided to get less torches as the LT was quite bright even without torches. We left shortly after that.
As usual, I took my phone out after I left the school. OMG!! There were countless number of unread messages. All of them had the same message, from different people! "Where are you?"
Hahaha... It was hilarious! We were not visited by anyone because they could not find us. Hahas.. lucky for us. Otherwise we would have been a complete disgrace. However, I did make a mental note to get everything ready by the next dry run next week...

Well, everything seems to be running quite smoothly except the decorations and the models that we were planning to use for our exhibitions. Hence, spent the day yesterday getting all the supplies that I needed. Torches, lights, styrofoam balls... Will make all the necessary preparations to get everything ready over the next two days. There's going to be another presentation of our booths on Wednesday which will be covered by the JC2s as the JC1s are unable to attend. Got to get all our scripts done by then too. Going to be collecting our event T shirts on Wednesday as well! Another dry run on Friday, it will certainly be better than the last!

Alchem CCA

Okay going to talk a bit about my CCA in this post. Earlier this year, appoinment of duties of an event for my CCA begun. As I was not holding any top positions in my CCA, thought I might as well take up a position in this event. This event is basically a science event where primary school students come over to our school to take part in competitions and activities which we have planned. It's an annual event.
As said, I took up a position as the in charge of Astronomy booth as it was the last available slot, apart from the MC. I was definetely not going to be the MC so took up IC of Astronomy booth instead. At first thought that I needed to plan some experiments to showcase. However, later learnt that I only needed to ensure that the JC1s, who were going to be going for a course to do up a Planetarium for the booth, did what they were supposed to do. Easy job I thought, just supervise!
A few meetings later, I was told that the Planetarium course was cancelled and that other plans had to be made for the exhibits of the booth. Well, that changed things. I then gathered all the members of the booth and discussed our plans. This was also the first time that I was meeting all of the members together and so things were still quite awkward and ideas were coming out very slowly.
As we proceeded though, things got better. It got to the extent that my group of 9 members grew to 15 members as members of the other groups joined my group. So the ideas got better and our exhibition became an 'Amazing Race'.
Recently, received news that the GOH of the event was coming down to view our exhibits on the coming Wednesday. Lols... really pressed for time now. Although there are ideas but still no concrete ideas yet and so far nothing done. Divided up the group into smaller groups as of now. Hoping that working in smaller groups might speed things up. Hopefully everything can be done by Tuesday. lols

Weather's still becoming hotter and hotter in recent days. Can't seem to feel cool even under some shade...

Long weekend No. 2

Another long weekend just passed. And more work coming my way. Back to school today on a Tuesday. Quite a slack day actually. GP teacher was not around so had two and a half hours free time. Then, Chem teacher was also not around so had an early dismissal. Left school at 2pm today, an hour earlier than usual.
However, the extremely long break was not spent fruitlessly. Spent the long break deciphering Maths Poisson Distribution notes and completed the tutorial. Woots! Feeling really good now, finally completed the tutorial. Now have to move on to Normal Dist. tutorial.
Well, come to think of it, there're many long breaks this week. Tomorrow will be the usual one hour break, probably I'll start on Normal Dist. tutorial then. Then Thursday another one and half hour break as no PE. Can do more revision again. Planning to do lots of revision this week and sum up revision hopefully with the long weekend that's coming up again.

Kranji Choir GOLD!!!!

Not too long ago, about two weeks ago, received news that Kranji Sec Choir received GOLD for the SYF Central Judging. Was quite shocked at first, not because of the gold, but the fact that I had totally forgotten about my ex- choir's SYF!! Omg!! I had even thought of going to support them, just as our seniors had done. Some senior I am, actually forgot such an important event. Anyways, that aside, am really elated that Kranji Choir had brought a GOLD to the school at last. Guess the other seniors feel the same too. Certainly is the pioneer batch to clinch a Gold for Choir, as far as I know. Jiayous!
On another note. have stopped going for choir sessions with WE already. Largely due to the great amount of homework and revision that I've to do. Such is the life of a JC2. Guess that I'll probably consider taking up singing again after my A's.

NS check up

Finally managed to sign up for my NS check up last weekend. Actually filled in all the required details already by Friday night last weekend but was missing a portion on my account number, which I didn't have. Therefore, Saturday went to get an account and finally managed to complete the sign up by Sunday. However, there weren't much choices left for the date that I picked, which I was going with some friends. Therefore had to schedule it in the afternoon, although my friends scheduled theirs in the morning.
As they say, "the early bird catches the prey". Always get things done early:)
Ciaos..
