Prelims GP Paper
Friday again today. Start of Prelims Exam. GP paper 1 went pretty smoothly. Qn I did was something about whether technology enhances teaching and learning. Think I handled it pretty well. Came up with a 7 sentence conclusion, my longest conclusion yet. Only problem was… I FORGOT MY QUESTION NUMBER!!!!!! Only realised when I was queuing up for food in the canteen. By then, too late le.My tutor’s gonna strangle me!!! Was too busy ensuring no errors in my script lols. Clean forgot about it. Haiz… Paper 2 wasn’t too difficult as well. Managed quite a long AQ. Managed quite a lot of points for SQ too. Hope to at least get a C, if not, maybe a B? Lol…at least hoping for a B for P1 lah. Managed a B for the poverty essay lols.
Wednesday had a talk by an ex- VP. Quite motivational in the sense that it woke me up to certain details such as that I was spending too much time on my laptop just surfing the Web aimlessly. Being on MSN too. Wasting my own time lols. Decided to cut down. Gotta control myself. Discipline!
Recently found on the Web that I can grow taller with frequent stretching. Some guy had posted on a forum saying that he grew 4 cm in two months!!! LOL!!! Gonna try stretching more and see if it works. Gonna exercise more as well. What with the Sept Hols coming up, sure a good opportunity.
Long hols coming up again.. two in a row this time. First up is the Presidential Elections in lieu on Monday and Hari Raya on Tuesday. Then Thurs is Teacher’s Day celebrations and Friday Teacher’s Day. Effectively only have lessons on Wednesday. Woot… yeahs!! And after that, Sept school Hols!! But that’s really for lots and lots of revision. Prelims right up next after Hols. Hais… persist through lol...

Extra help!! Heeelp!!
Having already received my MYE results, I have been attending remediation programs since week 6. Hahas, having gotten really dismal grades in the Mid-Year Exams, this is certainly not much of a surprise. What’s surprising and quite interesting is the names for all the remediation programs that the teachers have come up with. Really lots of three- letter acronyms to keep up with… rofl! Basically, I am now down for remediation programs for all my subjects except H1 Physics. Okay so there’s Econs Remediation Program a.k.a. ERP for H2 Economics. Then there’s the Centre Of Excellence a.k.a. COE for H2 Mathematics and Maths Excellence Program (MEP) for Maths as well. For H2 Chemistry, there’s a mass Chemistry consultation conducted every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. What’s more, there’s also some Chem remediation called “Chem Clinic” for the weaker students and “Chem Hospital” for those that really need extreme help.. Haha. Well see, quite a lot of help being offered by the teachers in my school to give us support for the A levels yeah… haha!
Anyways, as the Economics remediation is compulsory, and I am generally much weaker in Chemistry, I have been attending both remediationsfrequently. Thus, this leaves little time for me to attend COE for Maths which is voluntary. Basically, there will be a venue booked for us weekly on Mondays and Fridays for COE and there will be teachers there to help us clarify our doubts. Answers to recent tests and prelim papers that we have been given will also be made available there. Having been attending Econs and Chem remediation, I also had to constantly complete Econs and Chem assignments thus falling back on revision for Maths as a result. Therefore, all the more the reason why I’ve not been attending COE. Haven’t done any Maths revision papers yet so no answers to check yet. Hais… really got to brush up revision on MathsL On a last note, sadly I have now down for early morning H1 GP lectures as well. Just narrowly missed passing by a mere 4 marks… Man! Sianz…
Looking on the bright side, at least I wun have the chance to be late for school. Due to the lectures, I am now required to be in school by 7am!! on Wed mornings. Haiz…
On my part, I’ve also started looking up my Mum’s friend’s daughter to clarify Chem questions when I need help.

New school tie
Hahas… Rofl!! Quite a joke today. As the school decided to change the school tie this year, ( lols why only this year everything want upgrade? Zzz..)we had a mass voting session for the whole cohort prevoiusly, teachers and alumni included. Four different designs were presented, all skinny ties though. Looked quite cool. Anyways, point is results for the voting came out today. Hahaha… the majority voted for the really colourful one haha. Looks like a clown when wearing it. Wonder who came up with that design. It looks irksome! Haha… us JC2s dun have to worry though. By the time the new design comes out, we’d have graduated.
Immediately after the results, JC1s started complaining about us JC2s “anyhow vote” leave them with such a tie hahas!! Someone even “tweeted” their anger on Twitter. LOL! Our gift to them lols! Enjoy! Sure to visit again next year to see how the JC1s look wearing it. Hahas… so bad!
Jokes aside, met my GP tutor for consultation today. He gave me points for a poverty essay.. Is the elimination of global poverty a realistic aim? Going to look up more examples and write out the essay to show him next week. Quite confident of this essay.

Prom or not?
At the eye appointment ytd, I received an sms from my class asking if I wanted to go for Prom. Lols… of course I then asked if the class was going. What’s the point of going if my class isn’t going? When told that most of my classmates were attending, I said YES! Of course! Was quite surprised though, had the idea that they weren’t keen on attending the Prom as it was too ex. Lols!!
However, today after making the payment of $85, I was told that we will most probably get a refund as the class has decided not to attend already. Rofl! So fast change ur mind again!
On another note, more towards academics, today was Chemistry Day again… Thursday. Therefore, stayed back in school to complete 2010 A level Chem P3 under timed conditions but Phailed once again. Hais… this again? Despite studying for it lol.
One more day and Week 8 would have come to an end. Next week is Week 9. And on Friday… Prelims begin!! H1 GP paper first up! Lols GP still a blunder. Going to look for tutor tomorrow to discuss some essays. Hope it helps!

PONNED school!!
Haha… didn’t go to school today. PON!!
Well not really pon lah. Had an eye appointment at the doctor’s actually. Wasn’t intending to be gone the whole day but … oh well… not disappointed that the appointment took so long anyways.
Well, went and did the usual checks. Only thing was, I made it known that I saw double image at certain angles and that was what caused the extension in the eye check up. Usually I would ignore the fact that I saw double images, but today dunno why I told the doctor. Thus, did some checks and they found out that I had diplopia. Was really quite a simple test actually. They had me put on a special type of specs with red and green lens and asked for me to look at an image ahead. I saw three red images and two green ones and just told them lols. Then it was confirmed that I had diplopia! Was really puzzled but when I removed the specs, I realised why. There was only one red image and one green image on the screen. LOL!! So I was seeing double images. Not that I wasn’t aware of it of course.
Did some more tests with a sort of prism thingy with varying angles of inclination of the prism. Guess that was probably to vary the amount of light reaching my eyes. So they just checked whether I was seeing double images using the different prisms and also asked if I could focus the image back to one. While most of the time I still could, at some point I couldn’t focus it to one image anymore. No matter how I tried. Guess that was what they were looking for.
After that decided to do the report for my NS too so further extended the time. Further tests revealed something much more interesting. Apparently my brain isn’t processing images from the left eye or smth and so literally I’m seeing with only my right eye. Thus, all the mystery of the puzzling findings about my eyes all resolved in one day. And all because I withheld some information lols. Due to that, was told that may have to downgrade PES. Guess it came as no surprise. Been expecting that! Was told to continue wearing my specs and left.

Anticipating Softball, Maths test
Due to the eye appointment, I missed PE! However, didn’t really matter lah. Teacher wasn’t going to be around today so not going to be doing much anyways. What’s important is next week. Been promised a game of Softball. Now that the field has been renovated, really looking forward to trying out the new artificial grass. No more sliding I guess, may not be as fun.
Also missed my Maths Stats test as well. Will do it another day. Haven’t revised anyways. Hahas… my class has been trying to get more contributions for the donation drive. How? By studying hard for tests and aiming to score high lor. Then, we get teachers to donate as an incentive. Haha… smart move!

Consulting the Chem experts
Went chem consultation today. Decided to see if the Chem consultations would be helpful so brought some questions along to clarify. Well, at first still quite unsure what to ask as I was worried that stuff that I asked would be deemed basic understanding and receive a telling off for not revising my work. However, that was not the case, to my delight! The teachers there were really helpful and just explained the questions to me. They didn’t even ask things like why dun you know this or wadeva. Merely just clarified all my doubts. Felt that the session was really fruitful and thus also clarified questions on a recent Chem test that we did which I didn’t do very well in. So had many doubts to clarify and did clarify them all! Shall attend Chem consultation again soon…
After Chem consultation which I left at 4pm, I went swimming again. Was able to leave school earlier than before as ERP was moved to next Tuesday instead. So managed to get to the swimming pool earlier and enjoyed a bit more of the sun before it set. Managed to do some sun tanning!!
With the A levels drawing ever closer, my class has also taken the initiative to start our own countdown to the A levels!! So as of today,91 days to A levels!!! Wow, not even 100 days left…. Gotta chiong studies liaoz! ciaoz!
91 days to A level! Jiayous!

Funds for school upgrading
Hi again! Recently my school has decided to do something about the condition of our school. Therefore, funds are needed. Putting one and one together makes two. What does this result in? yup, PJC fund- raising! Had a golf competition or smth orgainised, but that’s for our parents, to help raise funds. But that’s not what involves us students. We were each given a donation card and have to collect donations. This is for a Walkathon that’s been organised as well to help raise funds. Well, frankly speaking, this isn’t really going to benefit us JC2s much as we will be leaving the school soon. The events to raise funds will only be organised next year and the upgrading of the school will begin goodness knows when! Either way, us JC2s will not get to enjoy it!
Still being a senior of the school, I decided to set an example and collected a donation of $20 for the first collection, $10 of which came from me! Our target was to be $100 each!!! Guess I’ll worry about that in the next collection. Collection on Wednesday wasn’t really good I guess. The turn out for the donations were pretty pitiful hahas. Mostly only see coins…lol. When it was my turn and I took out the money, there was a great hoohah lols! “Finally some colour!” someone commented…lolol.. that bad? I donated $20 and there was such a big fuss. Makes me wonder how much my classmates donated man!!

Active sports = Aching body
Well, with the new timetable, PE is now on Wednesdays. Therefore, had PE yesterday. Hmm.. today’s PE turned out to be more fun and active than most past sessions(i.e. most past sessions had been kind of slack and literally doing nothing if you’ve read from a post earlier). So we played Hand Ball within my class. This game was by far the best I have played for a long time… hahas. Throughout the game, I kept anticipating my friends shouting out instructions to me while playing as they usually did, but they didn’t. All through the game, despite the many blunders that I make usually, they didn’t say anything. Quite a relief actually. Most free game I had in a long time. Always had to worry that there will be instructions being shouted at me, Hahas, guess I’m just really poor in sports. However, I am trying to heed their advices and trying to improve though hahas.
Anyways, after that really great game, I woke up this morning with an aching body. My back was aching, arms and legs felt really drained of energy and neck felt sprained. Dunno how I got such an ache from a short game of Hand Ball. Probably could be due to not having played games during PE for such a long time. But it was a good feeling. Long time since I last had an aching bodyJ
Sure hope this marks the end of the PE drought!!

CONDENSED timetable
Okay so I’ve entered Term 3 Week 6 in my academic timetable. So what’s so special about week 6? Well, this is the week that we have a new timetable, a CONDENSED timetable!
Yup, as one of my teachers put it, a CONDENSED timetable is very sweet.. haha. With shorter schooling hours, less lectures and more free time to consolidate my work, do self revision and catch up with my work, it sure is sweeter! Lessons end latest by 2.30pm leaving us at least five hours of solid studying if we rush home to start with revision or if we stay back in school for the Night Study Program(NSP).
yup, NSP has also begun since the start of week 6 although I have yet to schedule time to stay back in school past 7pm to about 9pm for NSP. However, since lessons end at 2 30pm or earlier, it really is quite a lot of time spent in school juz waiting for NSP to begin at 7pm. One of the reasons why I haven’t had a strong urge to attend NSP sessions.
With the start of Week 6, banded lectures have also begun. So now we aren’t attending lectures as a whole cohort but in banded lecture groups according to our grades at MYE. Now that we have finished the entire JC syllabus and are moving into revision, there aren’t any more H2 Econs lectures, just H2 Maths and Chem. Lectures all fall on Monday so had both the Maths and Chem banded lectures for this week already. Hmm… kind of troublesome now. Since all of us are in different bands, we have different notes and have to get them ourselves.
Chem lecture went fine, only that I didn’t have time to complete the lecture questionsbefore the lecture as I only got it just before the lecture itself. However, I went for the wrong lecture for Maths. Didn’t know which venue I was supposed to be at so juz followed Chee Koon and ended up in the wrong lecture group. Immediately after the lecturer started talking, I knew that I was in the wrong place. He was going so fast and bringing in more complicated stuff into the lecture lols. That was confirmed when the register came in and my name was not there. Was informed later that I was to be in another venue.
Went for early morning GP lecture as well. Well, forgot that I had to print the lecture material myself so went there empty handed. Then realised that there was a morning lecture last Wed as well. Oh well, guess I wasn’t very well informed. Thought everything started on Week 6 lolol. Therefore, successfully PON two lectures in a row.. hahaha!!
End of this week there’s yet another long weekend coming up… the National Day holidays. With the celebrations being on Monday and National Day being on Tuesday, I have four days straight to rush homework. Hahas…
Kk, ciaos!!
