My bike threw me off.... On a slope!!

Yup... the title says it all. Only the severity of the damage done due to the accident is yet unknown. So basically I now have a sprained wrist ( hope it's just sprained though, not broken or anything worse than a sprain) and it needs to heal fast lol. This on top of two knees with abrasion and arasion on the left side of my face as well. Ouchhh! Really, OUCH!
As a result, I am typing with just my right hand now (thankfully my right hand is okay I might add). My left hand is next to useless now except for the elbow which I use to support myself in getting up and sitting down.
So what happened exactly?
I had set off with high spirits to go cycling towards South Buona Vista Rd yesterday. As usual, I got onto Boon Lay Way via the Jurong Central Park PCN. This time though, I decided to try out taking the slope down to the canal without using the brakes. On many previous occasions, that similar thought had occured to me but I'd never dared to do so for fear of losing control of my bike. As I had reasoned with myself on countless occasions that this could not happen so long as I was keeping vigilant and alert, somehow I made the decision there and then to ride down without using the brakes at all.
Then, as I rushed down the slope, I felt the bike speed up way too fast! I panicked then. I can't remember if I did hit the brakes but the next thing I knew, I had fallen face first onto the ground and my head was giddy. My bike was inches away from where I fell. The first thing I realized was that my knees were grazed and bleeding, My face felt painful too so that might have been grazed too. My only concern though was to check if I had hit my head.
From the way I fell, I was sure that the bike had flipped and thrown me off, face- first. Anyways, I wheeled my bike back home and also realised that the right hand brakes were damaged due to the accident.
So after visiting the clinic with my grandparents, my wounds have now been properly treated and bandaged. Even my left wrist has been bandaged lols. Seems a little 'kua zhang' to me lols. Anyways, my wounds had better receive proper treatment coz I have gatherings to attend on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of Jan. Therefore, hope I recover fast enough lols.

First blog post from my own laptop

Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! I'm finally able to blog from my own laptop. Lols, maybe I've been able to all these while, hahas. After I got my laptop and tried adding a post on my blog, realised that it didn't work. Lols! After that just assumed that blogspot.com didn't work with Microsoft 7, which is what my laptop is using and have then since been blogging from computers in the library.
Tried again today and Voila! It worked! Hahas.
So this is the first post from my own laptop haha. Been meaning to post from my laptop since the days when I was doing PW lols. So cool! Now that I can do it, yeah man, will post more often.
Gonna be so proud of this post!
Sun is shining really brightly outside my window as I write. Clear skies too, no clouds! Most likely going to go cycling along to Pasir Panjang area and to Labrador Park if I can locate it. Hahas, hope the weather and my superly poor sense of direction dun let me down.

Bloggers in da house!!

Recently found some friends of mine who also write blogs/ are still writing blogs hahas. So of course looked their blogs up and decided to visit the blogs more often. Hahas, thanks to KW and YK, I’ve got blog posts to read again!
Added the blogs as a link on my blog. My first!

The more the merrier

I managed to get in contact with yet another future NS buddy recently. Hahas, so cool. Informed the others and we’ve now integrated into a larger family hahas.
On top of that, I’ve also realised that a school mate and good friend of mine from PJC is also enlisting on the same day same camp. MAN! This is REALLY cool hahas! Been lamenting that it wouldn’t be possible for me to meet any friends in the same camp as I was in PES E lols. But hey, Surprise! It’s a small world man.
So we’ve sort of planned a meet up session on the 3rd of Jan at AMK Hub. Well, I’m hoping to have a whole day event where we just hang out. Included all 6 of us, hahas.
So now our family has really grown, from 4 + 2 = 6 now! Hahas!

Nokia X1-01

Yup that’s my new phone there! Only took it out to use just today. Gotta try it out sometime right, and get used to using it? It’s the non- camera phone that we’re supposed to use during our enlistment into NS lol. Lol man, how troublesome! Not to mention the cost of getting yet another phone and the need to get used to it too. Besides, its a Nokia phone. Lol! Still, those are the requirements. Therefore, might as well I spend more time reading the manual and learn about the functions of the phone and how to use these functions while I have so much time on my hands huh?
Well, the little comfort in this new phone is the fact that there’s a flashlight function too which I just noticed, hahas!

Mahjong Camp

We stayed over at my grandparents’ place for the past four days with my cousins. Played mahjong daily till late at night. Or nightly rather as we only played at night. Hahas, it was fun man! One of the only times that we’ve stayed there for such a long time and played so much mahjong hahas. Looking forwards to more of these, that’s for sure.

Wearing specs finally

Finally wore my specs today hahas. Actually, I’ve wanting to start wearing the pair of spectacles that I’ve bought from Malaysia since some time ago. Been intending to wear it for the long term lol. So finally made it a point today to wear my specs out. Still need some getting used to wearing specs though, although this isn’t the first time I’m wearing my specs for a long period of time. I used to wear it during lectures and in school.
Anyways, I’ve decided to only wear my spectacles when I’m out. At least, I can still see things around me quite clearly, more so at home.

Oooh, gatherings with friends!

I’ve been really at a loss these past few weeks of the holidays lols. Would really have liked to hang out with some friends and perhaps even attend some Christmas gatherings or outings. But no, no one has jio-ed me out so far. I’ve also not jio-ed anyone out so far. Haven’t had a reason for asking people out, and dunno who to ask as well lols.
Then just two days ago, was informed by Jordan of 10S13’s BBQ session on 5th Jan. Hahas, finally a gathering! That helped lift my spirits up a little.
Then there was yet another invitation today, by Alchemist Club hahas. Going to have yet another BBQ on 4th Jan. Two BBQs on two consecutive days.
Really looking forwards to these. Hahas!

BAAAACCCCCKKKKKKKK!!!!

Just landed back in Singapore yesterday night. Then we had a great feast waiting for us back here. We were to be celebrating my grandparents’ wedding anniversary lol. So the feast wasn’t exactly for us hahas. Still, I enjoyed it just the same.
Even before we got back to Singapore, we had already heard news about some incidents with the MRT in Singapore while we were overseas. Apparently, there were a couple of break downs of the MRT in the past week. So we got a more detailed picture of the situation when we got back to Singapore. Seems really bad lol. Many angered commuters, lots of resentment…
Anyways, apart from that, it sure is good to be back. Well, the weather here is pretty much wet and cold for now as there was a downpour just last night and it had been pouring for most of the days while we were away. Furthermore, it wasn’t too cold over in Taiwan so the temperature was hovering around about 13°C to about 18°C. Yeah, so the adjustment back to Singapore’s weather and climate went quite smoothly.
Of course, now that’s we’re back, there is the unpacking of luggage which we have to attend to. Going to be a laborious task hahas. Glad to say that I’ve also bought some new clothes and shoes.
That’s all for now I guess, stay tuned for updates on my trip.

Bye Singapore, Hi Taiwan!

Life’s been kinda slack for me after the A levels lol. Supposed to pack up my room and clear out stuff that I no longer need seeing as the A levels are over. However, it’s still a mess. Mostly just hanging around at home and either watch TV or sit in front of the computer.
Anyways, I’m going for a holiday to Taiwan to break out of this boring holiday. Leaving tomorrow morning, early. So blogging’s going to be put on hold for about a week, or more. Will blog about my trip there when I get back.
So, ciaoz!

End of year jobs

As of now, I have still not decided on taking up a job for the time being. This is partly due to the fact that time is really short for me as I am enlisting into NS on 10th January. Moreover, I will most likelu be going overseas to Taiwan some time in the second week of December. So seeing as that’s the case, even if I were to take on a job, there will be many distruptions. Therefore, after chatting with a future NS buddy of mine, have decided to put it on hold for now. Still, I am going to keep an eye or ear out for news of good job opportunities hahas. Was thinking of working during my NS period instead seeing as I will be quite free during that time anyways. However, I am still not sure how things work after we are enlisted so can’t be too sure of that now.
Talking about job opportunities, I have received a request from a boss of a tuition centre to work there as a tuition teacher. Hahas, as much as I like the idea of that, I have declined the offer for now. Seeing as my grades are so poor, I think I may be more in need of tuition than be tutoring others myself hahas. Still, I am sourcing for a job nonetheless so I’m still keeping my options open. I will make it a point to visit the Facebook site that he has given me before I make further decisions on what to do.
Hahas… seeing as my “holiday” is really so short, I have decided not to commit to anything as of now. So it’s just slacking for me…. For now.

Rain Rain Go AWAYYYYY!!

Well, we’ve entered into the last month of 2011 already. Time flies! With the arrival of December also comes the unbearable monsoon season. Therefore, thanks to the monsoon season, I haven’t been able to do much. Mostly just been slacking at home watching TV or surfing the net. Due to the persistent rain that never fails to arrive at odd timings daily without fail, I haven’t been able to go swimming nor cycling. Furthermore, jogging is also off the list of outdoor activities due to the rain deciding to spoil my mornings as well by arriving in the early hours of the day recently.
Haiz… so much for working so hard throughout the year. Thought that I could enjoy some physical activities at the end of all exams and hard work. In the end, THIS!
So I still say..’Rain, rain go away. Don’t come back until next May. Please let me go out to PLAY!’

Still on my way Up… Up…. and Up!!!

1.71m!! That’s my latest height!
I am so glad man! I’m still growing taller yeahs!
Had another medical appointment today. Therefore, I also had to take my height and weight. And I grew a whooping 3cm since the last time I took my height measurement! Yeahs!!
Well, this thus gives me evidence that I’ve not stopped growing, which is really comforting to know of course hahas!
Secondly, this also tells me that the stretching exercises that I have been doing, mostly stretching the backbone, might have more or less helped in my increase in height. Hahas! So that’s 3cm in about 2 months. So if I continue, hopefully I’ll reach about 174/5cm by March next year? Hahas, am really glad man!
This certainly also means that I’ve finally bridged the 160+cm to get into the 170+cm range already. Despite me still being still kind of average in height and still shorter than most other guys, I don’t really mind anymore hahas. At least I’m still growing. That’s all that matters! Anyways, I do not intend to get all the way to 180+cm. That’s way too tall, so I feel. Getting to about 175 cm is already enough hahas. Wish me luck!

Dye Hair?

Been chatting with Samuel, a Sec School buddy of mine and came across the idea of getting our hair dyed. Even before chatting, I did ponder about this a little after seeing how good guys with slightly brownish hair looked. Haha… so I’ve sort of made a decision to dye my hair either before enlisting in NS or after NS, while waiting to get into a University. Not really sure how to go about doing this but most likely going to do a temporary one only. Maybe only going to use shampoo which colours the hair… hahas I don’t know man!
Anyways, after A levels, it’s been more of ‘Time is short, what you wanna do, just do lah!’ Hahaha…
All possibilities are being considered while I’m still in my teens. Hahas!

FREEEEEEEEEEDOM!!!!!

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
IT’S ALL FINALLY OVER!!!!
Today is also the last time that I’ll be wearing a school uniform. Hahas!
Okay… so had Chemistry Paper 1 today to round up the 3 week long war with A levels. Well, was not really too difficult a paper but compared to Chemistry Paper 2 and 3, it was tougher. So ended the paper at 3.15pm this afternoon and rushed off immediately. Hahas, weather today was just like yesterday, extremely hot in the morning and pouring just after 1.30 when I got to my exam venue. Therefore, I just walked in the rain this time around. Hahas… no more A levels already anyways! Managed to bump into the guys at the traffic junction outside my school. Hahas… so my rushing was not futile.
Now all that’s left to do is to clear up my A levels study notes and worksheets and what not, clear out my room, and then plan some Post Exam Activities for myself. Most likely going to find some paid work to do as well haha.
Then there’s also bowling, swimming, cycling and mah-jong! I will also need to tone up my muscles by starting a daily work out regime and stay out doors more often to get a good tan. Haha!
Well, the most important thing to do now is to go take a shower man! Omg! I just realised that I’ve forgotten to take a bath again last night and forgotten again this morning. Ooops!
More updates on my post A levels life coming soon! Ciaoz!

Something new is coming my way!

Yupp! A levels are over! As usual flipped through the LifeStyle section of The Straits Times newspaper when I got home yesterday to see what’s in store for my life after JC and the A levels.
Hahas, here’s what it said for 29th Nov, “You are in the mood for a change, so why not change your mind about something? Your energy can help you coast through any doubt and you may meet someone new.
Hahas, IKRRRR!!! This is so COOOL! Change is coming, that’s for sure! Less studying, more hanging out with friends.
Did the same today and here’s what it said for 30th Nov,
“There is nothing more exciting than finding a big change coming your way. See if you can get your peers to prepare for it. It is likely they cannot even see it coming yet.
Wow, cool! Horoscope for two consecutive days telling me that change is coming my way. And today’s horoscope reading further added that it’s a BIG change. Hahas… life is sure to be good!
Come on yeahs!
Big change! New life!

H1 Physics Paper 1

Brrrr! Brrrr! It’s cold!!
Well, it wasn’t like this earlier in the morning, when I just got to school that is. It was in fact really hot and sunny. So seeing as today is the second last day of A levels, and that I would have only one last paper after exams today, I decided to go outdoors after my paper today, maybe for jogging. However, not long after the start of my paper, thunder booming outside Discussion Room 3 told me that my hopes were dashed. Hahas! Indeed, heavy raindrops started pelting against the roof of the school building not long after and the rain became a downpour.
Sidetrack a little… so all this while I was doing my H1 Physics Paper 1. Hahas, the paper was relatively manageable as well, so I guess that it should not be too much of a problem. At least, there were quite a few questions which I was quite confident of the answers. Hopefully this paper 1 helps in me getting a H1 content subject A!
Okay, back to the rain…So the next time I had to worry about the rain was of course after my paper. So I was able to end my paper two minutes earlier thanks to the very understanding invigilator. So I was rushing, hoping to catch up with Jordan and Chee Koon. That would of course mean that I would need to get myself wet. Hahas… Haiz, just chiong lah! One last paper liaoz!
Just outside the school gates, I met some classmates. They offered to share their umbrella with me which I declined of course. Then, they jio me to take cab with them as they were headed towards Choa Chu Kang MRT station as well. So I ended up taking a free cab ride making many U- turns hahas. Dropped off a friend somewhere near Ten Mile Junction before making a trip back the way we came to pick up another friend before finally getting to CCK MRT. Three U- turns! Hahas, and fully paid for. Not by me!
When I reached my void deck, I then realised that I had an umbrella in my bag all this while! Lols… guess I was too used to not having an umbrella that I didn’t even make it a point to check. Haiz… Hahas, then again, should I have found out, I wouldn’t have had a free trip right? Hahahaha… wonder if I'll catch a cold or get a fever tomorrow lol!

ONE MORE DAY!!! TO FREEDOM!!!

The end is near!

Wow time flies! Woooots! Tomorrow, Tuesday…. And it will all be over!
Just two more papers to freedom! Gonna really enjoy it then. Already feeling the euphoria now! Hahaha!

Two more days to FREEDOM!!!!

NS phone

Went to buy another phone today for use during my NS period. We have got to use a non- camera phone in camp so no choice, have to get one. Hahas,it seems like quite a waste of money to me lols, seeing as I’ll only be in camp from 9am to 5pm daily. Haha…
Anyways, it’s a new phone from my parents so I’m not complaining. Hahas! So anyways, I’ve now got a Nokia X101, black with a blue back. Hahas!

Three more days to Freedom!

Cousin’s Stay!

Finaaalllyyy! My cousin went home today haha.
Well, my 9 year old cousin came over to stay with us for a couple of days this past week. Well, not saying that he was a nuisance, just that he had many habits which we were not used to. In fact, he was much more obedient and mature than most kids to be honest. Hahas, I had my maiden experience in cleaning the toilet during his stay here. I also had an experience of how difficult it was to look after a kid haha!
Well, it was a good experience! At least, he seemed more comfortable speaking with us during the last few days of his stay. Guess our efforts to bond with him were really successful! Haha…

Four more days to freedom!

Laze… Laze… Lazy Me!

Slept longer than usual yesterday lols! Went to sleep at about 1.30 am last night and woke up at almost 10am this morning lols… more than 8 hours! Hahas!
Slept in till quite late again today hahas…. Fell asleep at about 10.30pm last night. Was really tired haiz.. and woke up at 9am this morning lols. Slept almost half a day hahas! But tomorrow have Econs paper liaoz lols. Can’t sleep in hahas!
Dead beat! Hahas… sleep like a pig! Hahaha!

Econs Paper 2 revision

Woke up at 5am today lol. No paper today again haha! After waking up, I couldn’t go back to sleep already.
Surprisingly, I was still was wide awake throughout the day lehs. Lols… dunno why also!Maybe having a break from A levels helps…Hahas!
Anyways, Horoscope for Gemini today reads “Your mental energy should make school or learning enjoyable and much simpler. It is a good time to start a course of study, so look around and go for the next big thing.” So guess it isn’t odd that I’ve been wide awake all day? Hahas!
So I spent the day revising a little for Econs Paper 2 of course. Well seeing as this is the first day of a break of about five days before Econs Paper 2, I didn’t really study a lot haha.I’ve kind of been slacking today actually. Well, will have to make better use of my time for the next few days I guess. All the best for my Econs Paper 2!

Chem Paper 2

Well compared to the Econs Paper I had in the morning, this was really quite a breather man! Woots! Somehow felt that the Chem paper was really easy. Which was a problem lols. Throughout the paper I kept checking and double checking to see if I had read the question wrongly lol. Even after the paper had ended, I was still worried that I must have gone wrong somewhere lols. Really man! The questions asked were pretty much basic from what I could tell. Mostly calculation questions lol. Topics such as Chem Equilibrium, Chem Energetics which did not appear in Paper 3 were not tested again lol. So much for me having done so much practice on those questions. Oh yeah, and Organic Chem questions were also very little also. Haiz… anyways hope that I can do well for this paper haha. Gotta get an A or the least a B man. Looks like Maths and Econs GG liaoz.
Then again, seeing as both Chem papers were easy papers, it would most likely be moderated up so that maybe 80 marks to get an A lols. Now every single mark will be very important. Went home and checked the forum for opinions of the Chem paper from other candidates and noticed that most felt that the paper was easy too. So guess my worries were groundless hahas. Thankfully!
Hahas… thanks for hearing all my ranting about my papers yeah haha!
Three more papers to freedom! Jiayous! Hahaha…

Econs Paper 1

Had A levels Econs Paper 1 and Chem Paper 2 today. Did pretty okay I felt. To be honest, I found the Chem Paper 2 really easy. However, the Econs Paper was not as well as I would have hoped but managed with some answers that seemed considerably okay. Well okay, to go into more detail about my papers now.
Had Econs Paper 1 this morning at 8am. Did do some Paper 1 Case Study questions yesterday prior to the exam so was not too worried. Well, but worry started to creep in as soon as I opened the Econs paper. First question was a Micro question on Demand/ Supply/ Price elasticity and all that! Omg! I’ve literally forgotten about all these content that had been learnt quite some time ago at the very start of my Econs journey lol… Omg! To a person with a memory space of only 2GB(that’s worse than most computers nowadays, or a simple MP3 player lol), all these content seemed to have been learnt years ago. However, it wasn’t that bad such that I had forgotten everything about PED, YED and CED lols. Lucky for me, my JC1 content knowledge was pretty strong so I was still able to remember enough to know what concepts and content to apply. Due to the need to score as many marks as possible within the given time, I made a daring decision to start with the big marks questions first so as to secure more marks and leave the other (2m) questions for later. Wrong move man!! I spent too much time on the first big mark question that I started to worry that there might not be enough time to complete the paper. So I rounded up my answer as best as I could and moved on to Case 2 which I felt I might do better in. However, even as I looked at the answer that I had written, I was sure that it wasn’t going to be enough lols. Haiz, time was tight so there wasn’t much choice. Moving on, Case Study 2 was a little more familiar as it was dealing with Macroeconomics which was done in JC2. Think I certainly did better for my answer for Case Study 2. After that I then went back to finish up Case 1.
All in all, did not really feel very confident of the paper as I was not sure if I had used enough economic concepts and terms in my answers lols.I barely finished on time. Due to time constraints, I had to leave a (10m) question undone as well.
Haiz… tried my best to give answers that were somewhat adequate and satisfactory lols. Guess it’s all up to how the Cambridge examiners mark my papers.
All the best for my Econs Paper 2. It will really be the deciding factor.
Hoping for at least a C for Econs seeing as I’ve never passed my Econs paper hahas. It’s gonna be a huge challenge!

Chinese Drama Serials

Just started watching a new Chinese Drama Serials recently - 新还珠格格. A re- make of a similar one that I had watched when I was young, really young. In fact, even before primary school I think. This version is very dramatic and touching hahas!

Day 3,4 – Maths Papers 1 and 2

Well had H2 Maths Papers 1 and 2 yesterday and today respectively. Didn’t go too well for both papers I felt. It was pretty tough for paper 1. Came as quite a shock but I wasn’t panicking though. Just skipped all the questions that I didn’t know how to do and went back to them later. However, I couldn’t even start on most of the questions so it was still kind of pointless. Some questions even had later parts of the questions depending on the answer for the first part of the question so I lost lots of marks for those.
Haisz… More or less already gave up on my Maths grades at this point.
Well had more than an hour after I was done with all the questions that I could do. Therefore, I tried again on those questions which I had problems with previously. Did manage to get some answers but for the majority it still turned up blank. I was literally bored and freezing in there lol.
Paper 2 was slightly more manageable mostly due to stats portion of course. However, there were still a couple of questions that were really tough and I wasn’t able to solve them as well. Well, I did the best that I could to salvage as many marks as I could for both papers though. Hope it helps. Finished just in time for Paper 2 though.
Then answers of the Maths papers came up on forums real quick as soon as I got home and got online lols. But I didn’t want to compare my answers though. Hahas, this was despite me already knowing that chances were slim for my Maths Papers. Hahas, still I didn’t want to dampen my spirits further.
Shall do as I had with previous exams and not compare answers till the whole exam is over.
There were lots of comments on the Papers as well lol. At least most found the papers difficult so probably might be some chance that it would be moderated down? Hope so, but then not much help too I guess.

Day 2 – GP Papers 1 and 2

Wow… surprise surprise! Day 2 of the A levels sure brought along yet another surprise for me!
GP Papers today were quite manageable haha. Much to my relief man! Woots! GP Paper was one of the papers that I was more worried about. Now that it’s over, and it didn’t pose too much of a problem, I sure am relieved.
I picked a question on environment and economic growth for Paper 1. Haha, lucky for me there was a question on environment. That is usually my first priority. Hahas… as I wrote, it certainly felt more and more like an Econs essay on factors leading to economic growth lol. However, should be quite okay after some adjustments that I had made. I am certainly quite confident of this one. Should be able to score reasonable grades if I did not write out of point.
After a short break, it was Paper 2.The passage was one on environment and nature. As ideas from Paper 1 were still quite fresh in my mind, I didn’t have too much problem comprehending the passage. Haha! That really helped of course! That with the fact that I take an interest in the environment so it wasn’t too difficult… Hahas!
Then again, I was also quite surprised to find only one passage for Paper 2 Compre at first. Hahas was flipping and flipping looking for the second passage but couldn’t find it. Well, guess I’m just too used to having two passages. Then again, having only one passage was certainly much easier to handle.
As a result, there was less time required for reading the passages and I had more time in answering the questions instead. Well, I had more than enough time actually, had 45 minutes left for my AQ hahas. So I took my time in analysing the question and in picking out good points from the passage to argue. Well, the Passage was something about parks and the environment and nature… hahas my forte! So there was not much trouble in picking out examples from Singapore to use in the AQ.
There were lots of points available for summary as well. So all in all, a really good paper I felt!
Hahas! Now I’m energised for my next couple of papers! Yeah man! Woots!

Start of A levels

Hahas guess countdown to the A levels is over. Now, I’m going to be counting down to my freedom.Hahaha!
I had Chem Paper 3 today. Guess I can say it went quite smoothly. The paper was not too difficult I felt, which was surprising. In comparison to other papers that I had done so far, including Common Test, Prelims and the Mid-Year Papers, this was certainly a breather! Well, at least I could give some logical answers and could roughly figure out what the questions were asking for. Most of the tougher topics were not tested too.
Hahas…I sure do hope that Paper 2 will not be difficult, just like this Paper. However, recent trends have shown that either the Paper 2 or Paper 3 of Chemistry papers will be slightly more challenging. So guess it’s really down to luck?!
Well. A quick analysis of what I think may be coming out for Paper 2 seeing as I’ve not even seen a glimpse of these topics in Paper 3. Haha…
Analysis: topics such as Chem Energetics, Chem Eqm, Reaction Kinetics… have not been tested in Paper 3. Guess my revision for Paper 2 and Paper 1 will mostly be on these topics.
Yup that’s all for now. Ciaos!

So close to A levels…. Noooo!!!

Man! Guess I’m just unlucky huh! I am down with a sore throat. How nice! Not only that, I’m also down with some kind of a slight flu lols. Haiz… as if calling it a slight flu will make it go away any faster than it came…. Lols I’m crapping!
So I’m having some really thick mucus from the nose, not that it’s flowing or anything. It’s just that there’s some discomfort and everytime I blow, it’s really thick! I seriously dunno wad led to such a development lols. But I do know how the sore throat came about. It was really dumb actually.I just swallowed some food too quickly and got an abrasion against the throat. So ta da! I’ve got a sore throat! Seeing as it was due to an abrasion, should be gone in a couple of days… I hope.
Anyways, more about today. So I studied at Mac’s for 5 hours at Suntec City Mall and used at least four packets of tissue lol. All thanks to my “Flu”. That’s not counting the three trips to the toilet to replenish my tissue supply and the Mac’s serviettes that I used. Lol… so you can imagine. A large pile of used tissues after I was done studying.Haha. It really was a sight! Haha…. Disgusting! Didn’t bother to walk all the way to the rubbish bin each time I blew my nose lols. Hope the flu and sore throat go away soon. A levels is coming!!!

NS made some friends

Recently, heeded a friend’s advice and went online to google for ’10 Jan BMT enlistment’ to search for buddies who will be enlisting on the same day to the same camp. Indeed, I managed to locate a forum with others who will be enlisting on the same day. I made some friends real quickly. Then I added about four buddies on Msn and Facebook. Hahas, and then we started chatting. Most likely going to chat more soon. Guess it’s better to get to know some friends beforehand. Helps in ‘Ice- breaking’. Hahaha…

No more COE!!!

Lolol! I just realised yesterday that there were no more COE sessions. Lols… and I had been planning my revision with the intention of consulting teachers at COE lols.Haha.. so how did I find out?
Actually only found out as Imade it a point to wait for a Chem teacher to appear yesterday so that I could enquire where COE had gone lols. Haha! I couldn’t afford any chances for today as this will be the last day before the A levels exam begins. I really needed help with my Chem lols.
Finally as I made my way out of school after much searching, I passed a Chem teacher and asked her.
Was then told that COE had ended this week. She then told me to consult my Chem tutor if I had any doubts lols. Informed Chee Koon about the extremely alarming news immediately!
So no choice we made it a point to look for our Chem tutor today but was denied the consultation. Said she was busy. Haiz… How timely! Just gotta hope that stuff we are not sure of don’t come out lols. At least not until we have cleared up our doubts. A levels begins in three days.
After more enquiries, it turned out that COE had stopped this week as it is the last week before A levels lol… what a NOOB!
Such a crucial time! How can COE cease to EXIST!?!?

No more COE lol

Just realised today that there was no more Chem COE for this week lol. No wonder I could not find the venue for COE on Wednesday yesterday. Then I thought about it and sort of figured that perhaps since this is the last week before the A levels, all COE has stopped. Then I remembered that I hadn’t been to Maths COE since the start of the week as well. Which means that Maths COE perhaps has also stopped lol.
Big Problem!
Now there’s going to be no one to help me clarify my last minute questions for Chem before Chem Paper 3 next Tuesday. Told Chee Koon and we both agreed to go look for our Chem subject tutor tomorrow. Hopefully she’s free… or not? Imagine getting ourselves worried on the eve of exam. If there are basic stuff that we still didn’t know that is. Hahas...

Final GP consultation

I had another GP consultation scheduled today so had to be in school by 12.30 actually. However, Jordan smsed me just yesterday asking if I could inform the GP tutor that he will not be free for his scheduled consultation today. Seeing as his slot was just before mine, he also said that I could take that slot too. Agreed of course... much to my delight! Or so I thought… haha!
I then realised that I hadn’t prepared enough material to go through if I was to be having a 1 hour consultation. Oh man… that means I would need to do more work as well. Plus, I had to be in school a half hour earlier at 12 noon. The RV Paper 2 that I had done was sufficient for only half hour? So I decided to look through another Paper 1 question after I completed the Paper 2.
However, did not have the time lol. To cut the long story short, dragged the AQ for much too long and in the end did not manage to finish. Just didn’t know how to do it lol.
Got to school and GP tutor wasn’t at his usual spot though his stuff were there. Thought he went off for a short while and so I waited.
Then I went to check the schedule for consultation and saw that Jordan had stroke his name off the list already. Therefore I just assumed that the tutor had gone off for that period of time and decided to return later when it was my turn. Returned to my usual spot in the library and continued doing my revision for Physics Paper until about 12.30pm. I then went back to the table outside the staff room where I was to be meeting my GP tutor. He was still not there. Odd…
Therefore, I decided to wait again as he may have unfinished business and would probably arrive later. However, another 10 minutes passed. I then decided to call him on the extension number. Lol… I was to realise that I should have done that 40 minutes ago.
He received my call and said I was 10 minutes late!!!
LOL!! I was more than 30 minutes early actually. Man!He had been inside all the time! Time wasted lol!
Anyways, had 20 minutes left so went through the River Valley Paper 2 that I had done. Lol… it was a disaster. Did really badly for it. Even the summary question wasn’t done well. GG… the last GP consultation and I got such poor grades. Lol… could tell that my tutor was kind of worried as well. Haiz… left after he gave me some last minute reminders. Gotta make sure my A levels does not turn out this way lol!
At least my tutor had placed all the material we need for revision on the Internet. So guess it’s all up to me now. Jiayous!

NS Enlistment Date

Just received my NS enlistment letter lols... so late. haiz...not too happy about it anyways. Got enlisted to Kranji Camp on Jan 10 2012. Am going in for a four week modified BMT and then posted to some Human Resource department. Of course, posted this up on Facebook as soon as I recieved it hahas. Oh ya... am allowed to have four other family members accompany me for this farewell lols. Haha... not really a farewell actually. I am allowed to return home daily as this is not a stay- in camp. So why am I not happy?
Well, firstly the enlistment date is too early. I was expecting my enlistment date to be later next year seeing as my enlistment notice came quite late. However, guess I was wrong. Therefore, I have only got a month after the A levels to enjoy myself before I book in to camp. Lols...
Was intending to have more time to enjoy myself and spend more time bowling and cycling hahas. Was even intending to take up a part time job during that period. However, time seems kind of short now, what with a holiday being planned as well during December and the Christmas holidays. Haiz... hopefully PES E is more slack and we get more free time for ourselves. Then I may get to do the things I want to do... lol!
Secondly, my enlistment is just before Chinese New Year 2012. So I would be "botak" during that 15 days of visiting. Wth... this is really bad lol. Not sure how I look "botak" though. If I do look better, haha it could be a blessing in disguise? Haha...

GP consultations

Haiz… I’m still not doing too well for GP lols. I’m getting only a D for Paper 2.
So I’m planning to write another two more essays to go through with my GP tutor. So far, I’ve already gone through the essay outlines for the two essays during GP consultations so hopefully I’ll be able to produce better results. Haizz… well at least there’s still time.
Therefore, I’ve also booked an extra GP consultation for next week. Hahas… yeah! So I’ve got two GP consultations next week! Lols… hope all these chioinging and working hard will pay off! Ciaoz!

Caring Teacher Award

Finally submitted the form for the nomination of my Econs teacher for the Caring Teacher Award 2011. Haiz… been dragging it on for so long already that I was quite surprised that nominations were still accepted lols.
Procrastination again!
The dead line was supposed to be on the 7th of October lols. Almost three weeks ago. However, the office said that the dead line had been extended but still I didn’t think it would be extended until this long lols. Actually, I think I was just lucky. The teacher in charge happened to be in the office at that time when I went to submit the form, or at least, to find out if nominations were still accepted!
So therefore, the Teacher in charge then just accepted the form, much to my relief I might add!Thank goodness lols.
Just glad that it’s finally done though. Filled the form up just this morning lols. Anyways, I do not think I’ll be nominating any other teachers already after this. Quite paiseh actually, so late submission… hehs!

Why I can’t stay home to study

Had a really ineffective day yesterday studying at home. Lols, was Deepavali yesterday and so the school was not open for us to study there. So had no choice but to do my studies at home instead. However, was really not effective. Either I was too tired or kept being distracted, even though I tried not to be though. Point is, didn’t do much studying yesterday. Today was much better, did mostly Chem though. Think I need to do more of Maths though. Hmm… will most probably be doing all Maths tomorrow. One more week to the A levels, kind of excited… hahas!

Yet another fruitful COE

Went for Chem COE again today. Went with the intention of meeting the same tutor that I had consultation with the other time. Hoped she was there. Indeed, she was there just as before, and she wasn’t occupied. So I approached her and told her which questions I had problems with. She asked if those were of the same topic as before (ie. Chemical Equilibria) and then asked if I wanted her to run through the topic of Chemical Equilibria again just to do a re-cap.
Wow.. so nice of her! Well, of course I said “Ok!” immediately. Hahas.. she did a re-cap of the topic Chem Equilibria again using different diagrams and after which, she asked if I was from S18. Of course I wasn’t so I told her I was from S13 instead. Then, she even went on to give me some similar questions from the other schools’ Prelim Papers that we’ve been given so as to practicewhat we have just gone through. Hahas… was really helpful, even though I wasn’t her student lols. After which, she proceeded to help me solve the problems that I had. I had questions on Solubility Product this time though and after the consultation with her, I sure felt clearer on how to approach similar questions.
Just as we finished up and I was getting up to go, she told me” You’re quite good, you know!”
I then replied truthfully,”Actually no lah, I can understand but cannot apply to all the questions.”
Hahas, made me feel really good haha. Then I thought, could S18 be one of the better Chem classes?
Hahaha… still got lots to work on for my Chem though, but guess what I need now is more practice.
Gonna do some practices on Solubility Product first to recap what we’ve done today.

Shaved

Finally took some time off to remove my facial hair yesterday lol. After that, I looked less like a monkey yeah. More human.
Then again, looked into the mirror and couldn't recognise myself at first. Lol...
At least I have a cleaner image now.

Chem consultation

Went for Chem COE again today. As Chem COE started at 9am in the morning, I got up slightly earlier than before and got down to school early. As usual, since it was Wednesday, my Class tutor was there too. There was just one other teacher though. Both tutors were busy with other students and so I waited. After a while, another Chem tutor came in and I approached her instead. Hahas, lucky I did too. She cleared up the whole Ionic Equilibria topic for me. Haha, saves me the trouble of taking time to look through it lol. Haven't taken time to do so lol.
After that, I stayed back a little while more to clarify some other questions that I had before heading down to the library again for revision. Only stayed till about 2pm before we left.
Sure was helpful man.. Hahas, lazy me... lol!

Hot weather

Been having really “predictable” weather for the past few days. Well, not sure if that’s a good thing. So it’s been really scorching hot from early in the morning until after noon, and then it starts pouring in the evenings. It’s been this way consistently for the past two days since Monday. Well, the weather in the morning is really good for cycling of course. Hahas, but then I’ve to prepare for the A levels so kind of missing this out lol. However, for us JC students who are busy studying for the A levels, the hot weather is certainly not helping. Thus, most of us JC2s have taken to cooping ourselves up in the school library for a cooler studying environment. Thankfully, the school has also opened up two other air conditioned venues for us to study in. Therefore, the library isn’t too crowded up. Anyways, I sure do hope that there is such hot and sunny weather after the A levels hahas. I will then be able to have more outdoor activities. Okay, so what’s not so good about this weird weather is that we get caught in the rain every time we leave school. As it only starts pouring in the evenings, which is also the time that we are done studying and are leaving school, we get drenched every time we set off home. Lol… So I was smarter today. Having noticed the weather pattern, I thus left just slightly after noon today. I got home way before it started pouring. Yes! It was as I expected. A downpour, no less! It is still pouring as I write…

Change for the better

Just sat at the school Café just now and realised that the tables had been replaced. Didn’t realised that all this time lol. Makes me wonder how long it was since I last sat in the Café, or when was it that I last went there? I’ve been studying in the school library lol, so hadn’t been to the Café for quite some time. Hmm… and the school is also changing the uniform I think and the school tie as well as I’ve talked about in an earlier post. Lucky that doesn’t concern us JC2s anymore, imagine having to get used to all these changes and at the same time having to face the A levels. Phew…

GP Lunch Treat

Had the GP lunch gathering by our GP tutor today as promised. In fact, I actually forgot about it. Woke up this morning quite late actually seeing as it was the first day of study break. Hahas, actually wanted to sleep in till noon then get to school only in the afternoon for studying. Then, it suddenly occurred to me about at about 10am that “Hey isn’t it the 17th today?” Lol… I rushed to school then and still had time to do some studying before lunch. Well, as the dishes were ordered by us, they were quite predicted. However, it was surprising to see that there was enough food to go around despite there being at least three classes of teenage students around. The food was divided into two rows, one for the teachers and the other for the students. Of course, the food for us was depleted much earlier than that for the teachers. Hahas, throughout our meal, our GP tutor literally invited all the teachers who were there at the concourse to join us in the buffet. Thus it really was surprising to see that there was ample food to go around with extras. Really makes me wonder how many people he ordered the food for. Hahas… Of course, we went for seconds but by that time there weren’t much food left. Anyways, we had pretty much eaten our fill so we stopped at two helpings. Then it was photo taking time. Took a couple of photos and it was back to studying.

Ouch!! Ouch!!

Ouch!! Woke up this morning and couldn’t get up off my bed. Again due to my aching stomach muscle of course. So I had to roll off my bed again just like before hahas. So, just like before, I went for some sit ups on Sunday which thus resulted in the aches. Then I realised that my back was sore too. Lol… due to the sit ups again I guess. Didn’t really do too many this time round though. Usually did about 50 sit ups and jog 2.4km but this time only did about 30 sit ups then it started aching. Jogged about 2km only as well. Lol…

21 days left to A levels… OMG!!

GP consultation booking… chiong arhz

So our GP tutor had informed us prior to today that he will be opening up consultation slots during our study break. However, it is on a “rush-to-get- it” basis. So what my friend did was to get a long strip of paper, something like a sticker and write the guys’ names four times on each long strip. He then told us to peel off the sticker and just paste it so that we would take up four consultation slots each week. Didn’t really like the idea at first as it was really unfair and I was sure I didn’t need so many slots back to back. Wasting time as well. Lol…
But then he suggested that we take up the slots first then should our classmates need it we can pass it to them. That seemed quite okay so I agreed. Although still quite unethical of us to do that but I didn’t want to ruin things so just went with it. So long as the GP tutor was okay.
We were also quite unfair to the other classes by actually being at the concourse (where we were to be booking our consultation slots) earlier than the supposed time. We were lucky because we got released from lessons earlier so we were able to make it down before 12pm. By 12pm, the table at the concourse was already surrounded by us, 10S13! We then hurriedly booked our slots and then were rushed off as more and more people came.
Hahas… it was only after I left that the thought occurred to me. What if no one takes the slots from me or exchanges the slots with me? Then won’t I be meeting the tutor back to back for four days in a row. Lol… then it will be inefficient!

Farewell Assembly - As the end approaches, we will be left with many memories…

So, what did we do for our last CT time with our Class Tutor? We had our activity in our “Home Class” – G2-69. We were instructed to place 22 tables and chairs in a circle for ourselves to sit in. Then our Class tutor took out a stack of papers with each of our names written on each one and told us to take the one with our name on it, Then she told us that we were to pass that piece of paper to the person sitting on our right and we were each given a minute to write well wishes to whoever’s name was on that paper and keep passing the paper around so that everyone has a chance to write well wishes for everyone else. Haha, most of the time we either had too much to write to our fellow classmates or just couldn’t think of what to write that we overshot the time limit.
Haha, how can our thoughts for two years be expressed in a single minute? Lol… there was just too much to say haha. So as it was, we finally finished with all 22 pieces of paper and each was returned to its owner haha. Phew! I had to come up with 21 different variations of “Study Hard!”, “Do not give up!” and “You can do it!” lol. And it was all impromptu. Hahas, it was also then that I realised how many of my classmates I had not spoken to in a long while. Just didn’t know what to write for them lol, It was really scary man. I hardly knew more than half of those in the class lol. Anyways, good memories we’ve had yeahs!
After I got home and read through the well wishes that my classmates had written to me, I felt quite comforted. Didn’t know that they actually noticed me haha. As they had once again written, I was a very quiet person and all that. Haiz… I have really tried to be more outspoken haha. Guess that’s just me. Some others were more encouraging though. Some did mention that I had been a good friend and was really helpful. Thanks all the same for all your words of encouragement hahas!
On a final note, my CT has certainly had a change of perspective towards our class. She assured us that she has certainly seen a change in our attitude towards our studies since we first met. Well, I’m just glad that it all ended well for all of us hahas. Then she said that the thing about JC life is not the content that we have learnt academically.
It really is about the tough times that we have pulled through in the two years here and how we have helped one another along the way. Hmm… I kind of agree with this. For one, I am sure I have many good memories of my JC life, much more than my 4 years in Secondary School, I daresay. Somehow, JC seems much more memorable than secondary school life.
Maybe because I am a little more involved… Or it could be the because of the wonderful friends I’ve made here in JC hahas. Don’t think we’ll have much time to be meeting up during the A levels papers as I will be having slightly longer papers due to extended timing for my papers so this could be one of the last times that the whole class is together.
Haiz…

Farewell Assembly –Our last day!

Had farewell assembly today as a farewell to us JC2s. It was our last assembly too and the last time we would be singing our College Anthem and saying the College Creed. So this was probably the first time since orientation that I sung the College Anthem out loud hahas.
Well, to start the day off, we had our last Physics lesson for first period. It was to be our last lesson in a classroom setting too. After that, we then went for a break before going for our last CT time and then Farewell Assembly. I shall zoom in to CT time later in the post.
So our last assembly began with the singing of the College Anthem, the full version of course since this is a formal event. Then, mostly there were teachers and alumni members up on stage giving talks on how best to prepare for the last lap before the A levels and also to say some words of encouragement, Then the Farewell gifts were given out which was an Ez- link card that was nicely decorated and had our name on it. Finally we did some cheers and then left at about 2pm. Of course, I didn’t stay for NSP today haha,

24 days to the A levels… OMG!!
Went for a swim again today. Quite good weather actually. Was scorching hot… haha! Again hung around on a bench under the sun for about an hour before going to swim.Managed 24 laps this time.Woots! Still progressing hahas!
Now that lessons have ended, studying for the next three weeks depends on me. So I have decided to go to school daily to study as it has certainly proven to be more effective. Maths COE will be open daily from 10am to 4pm for the next three weeks as well. So I will be able to clarify my maths problems in school. Chem COE will also be on weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Hahas, looks like I’m going to be camping in school liaoz. Most likely hahas!
Hmm… spent lots of money this week. Lol! Lots of last minute Prelims papers that needs to be collected. Huge stacks for our revision. Chiong arh!!

Thursday, October 13, 2011

Received the last Econs Package yesterday. It was called… Finale Pack!Lols, basically just a compilation of Prelim papers and answers from other schools.
I finally had my file undergone slimming treatment yesterday as well. Haha, aka sorted out cum removed some of the stuff I wouldn’t need for the next few days.
So my file which was almost four inches thick is now much much lighter and slimmer. Yah, and my Class Tutor has requested for the whole class to be at school tomorrow. Hmm… think it’s for the activity she has planned for us for the CT time tomorrow, The last CT time that we will have. Makes me feel more excited about tomorrow haha.Looking forward to getting the Farewell Gift as well.Haha…
Ya, it’s the last day of school for the JC2s already. After tomorrow, it will be the study break.
School ended at 12pm today and stayed back a little while to complete SAJC Chem Paper 3. Decided to skip the Chem Paper 3 Mock Exam as the other guys were not going anyways. Therefore, got home quite early and am intending to finish up with the SAJC Chem Paper 3 and run through my Econs Prelims Papers for consultation tomorrow.

25 days to the A levels OMG!!

Mr A getting my name right

Well, we’re almost coming to the end of lessons. Just one more day tomorrow and school’s OUT! Hahas, and it was only this week that Mr A finally started getting my name right haha. No more “JieYing” hahas! Now it’s just plain “JieYong” Haha… not that I mind though. Well, at least I will leave school with the name JieYong. Phew!

25 days to A levels:)

New look – Unkempt!!

Been looking kinda unkempt due to having been staying back in school and not sparing much time for anything else. Therefore, nails were growing much too long and hair, yes that includes facial hair lolol, has also been getting too long. Therefore been contemplating getting myself groomed actually. However, was trying to find a time to do it such that the next time I had to do any grooming would be just before the A levels exam. Haha, didn’t have to want to have to do it too many times. Haha lazy me! But seriously, all these hair and nails and what not seems to be growing much faster these days. Lol, coz I’m growing? Or coz I am taking less notice of these things and so they seem to be growing faster. LOL!!
Anyways. Finally cut my nails yesterday and did my hair during the last weekend. Not much choice for the hair lol. Thought it could ‘tahan’ one more week until school ends but then the school had to have a grooming check this week. Haiz sianz…
Only thing left now is my facial hair. Haha, left the last one or two days before study break begins. Not really keen on getting it done before study break begins next week anyways.
Actually, think I look kind of good with the facial hair… haha!
Lol will get it done next week lah!Haha…

OMG!! 25 days to the start of A levels! Gotta study hard!

Wednesday, October 12, 2011

Had our last Maths lesson today and our Maths teacher gave us a farewell gift. It was a pencil case… haha!
Lolol..tiosuan today. Due to me not having shaved for quite some time - yeah cause school’s ending soon and I might as well shave at a later date – so the facial hair was really starting to show lol. Haha, not that I can see it anyways, so it doesn’t bother me. However, tiosuan by Jeremy lol. Told me I needed to shave liao and said “You want 10-cent shaver or 1- dollar shaver?” Zzzz… Will get it done soon lol!
Didn’t stay back for NSP today though.I was much too tired today and just couldn’t stay awake.Haha went home to take a nap before continuing with studies at home.
We were informed that we needed to wear our house T shirtstomorrow. Lol, most of us haven’t worn it for quite some time already. Haha… some don’t even know where they dumped theirs. Haha, for those who’ve grown, don’t even know if it still fits! Penalty for not wearing tomorrow – Got to buy another House T shirt. LOL! Last day of school for JC2s liaolehs! Waste money haha… better remember to bring!
Had an Econsremedial lesson from 4pm to 5pm today as well. Wow… Econs teacher is sure putting in a lot of effort and time to have make up lessons for us to go through as many essay questions and case studies before we go off for the study break. She is also very willing to have consultations with us despite her very busy schedule lol. Most of the time she literally has back to back lessons and has to rush off when the time is up… lol!
Therefore, considering to nominate her for the ‘Caring Teachers’ Award’ lol. Hope it’s not too late.
Been bumping into Wei Zhiquite a lot when going to school these few days. So had lots of opportunities to chat with him haha! On one occasion, learnt from him that we would be notified on the day before our release of A levels results should we be receiving an award. Haha… looking forward to that! At least get a Most Improved Award yeah!Gotta study hard and stay focused siahahahas!

Getting more used to NSP

Had ERP today again. We did OECD Case 2007. Well, I didn’t actually complete it before ERP lol. Did the wrong case study. So just looked through it before the ERP and still managed to participate in class discussions. Yeah… that’s what’s important!
I then went for NSP again today after ERP at about 3.30. Yeah ERP lasted for almost 2 hours lol.
As usual, we hung around in the library till 7.15pm before heading home.I managed to complete a SAJC Chem Paper 2 while I was there. Somehow, felt quite awake and just kept taking stuff out to do after I completed the SAJC paper. Time flew by and soon sun had set and it was already 7pm. Dun know why, somehow felt that time went by real quick today. Not sure if it was the music that I was listening to on my MP3 that made me more awake or the fact that I was getting more used to staying back in school for NSP but either way, it sure helped haha. Considering that I had a splitting headache in the first period in the morning ie. Physics lesson, this was quite a surprise, that I actually managed to last that long haha.
First few days I stayed back, kept felt like leaving every time I sat down to do work. This time Chee Koon finished off first and he requested for us to leave. Looks like I’m finally settling down to begin on work haha.
Apparently we are playing Dodge Ball for PE tomorrow. LOL…this will really be the last PE lesson.Still, I dunno if I should attend PE lesson. Haha…I’m not very keen to play Dodge Ball lol. Think I’ll just bring along PE attire just in case.

Two more days of school and one more Physics lesson to go

Last week of school

Wow time flies. Monday again! But this Monday is different.
Monday of the last week of school for us JC2s and after this week, study break begins. For only three weeks though. A levels coming real soon!
Maths COE will still be on during the study break though… daily haha!
Our CT informed us of our timetable on Friday. The day of Farewell Assembly.Woots! Only having Physics on that day as lessons end at 10am.Haha then it’s programmes lined up for us for Farewell Assembly.
Hmm…then again, after twelve years of studying, this will be the last week sitting in a classroom attending lessons already. No more lessons after that, only lectures.
Haha,I also realised that completing your work when asked to does help. Had a whole hour free today just because I completed my work at home before going to school.
GP homework supposed to be done last Friday in class. However, we brought it home to do instead as teacher was not around.
As expected, most of the class didn’t complete it lol.Since I had, I was given an hour free while the rest of the class did it… hahaha! So took the time to read the latest issue of Broader Perspectives. It was just given out and apparently quite a lot of good essay writing pointers inside. Some points for various essay questions as well. Looked through “How important is it for people in your society to retain a sense of tradition?”
Oh ya, and it’s 10/10/11 today. Time to commemorate the loss of my wallet, phone and key on a cycling trip this day last year.Hmm….Missed a wedding reception cum 2A-07 gathering as well due to that incident.Haha… time really flies. It’s already been a year. Felt
like I just lost those stuff few months ago. Lol…
Left early from NSP today coz had to complete Econs Homework
Haha therefore we signed in to NSP for only 5 minslolol.

OMG!! 28 days left to the A levels. Chiong arhz!!

New school tie!

Well this has nothing to do with us JC2s of course. Haha, after a re-voting of the new school tie, the skinny BLACK TIE HAS EMERGED THE WINNER!!
So it’s to be out only in 2012 of course. Like I said, not my business. However, I really like that tie haha. Voted for it in the last voting of course but it got out voted. Hahathis was due to the prank that the JC2s played on the J1s of course haha. So the JC2s weren’t allowed to vote this time around and the result was certainly much better.
Think I’ll probably get one when I go collect my results next year haha. The tie looks real cool man. And it’s a skinny tie haha.

Noisy day

Throughout the day, school was like a shopping mall lolol. Or more of a theme park actually. The JC1s had just finished Promos exams and so had Inter House Games today. Therefore, there was loud music being blared all throughout the day, thus disrupting lessons a little. To add on, the loud cheerings and shouting from our dear juniors contributed to the extreme noise level. Hais but who can deny them a little fun to let off all the stress built up from taking exams?
Unfortunately for them, a downpour came at bout 4pm thus disrupting their activities. Soccer continued though, in the downpour, but when the rain became heavier, even they were made to stop playing.
Another effective session at Math COE again today. More teachers were around for consultation this time round. Looked up yet another teacher for consultation today. Hahas, asked a question on Vectors and realised my concepts on Vectors were pretty weak. Ended up the teacher did a quick review of Vectors for me. Seems that I was quite confused with all the formulas.
However, the teacher didn’t ask me for my name after I had finished clarifying my doubts, much unlike on other occasions which the teacher asked for my name, class and subject tutor after I had finished clarifying questions. Haha… probably she was just too relieved to get away from this noob lol. Anyways, mostly clarified questions on an ACJC Prelim 2011 Paper 1 which was really tough to do. After the consultation, I realised that most of the questions were quite simple actually, all stuff that I do know.I just had problems applying that’s all!
Left for home at bout 5pm after COE and didn’t stay to study in school. Lucky I did too, got home and realised that parents were bringing us out for dinner. Wow went to AppleBee’s for a western meal which was quite good actually. However, probably coz I was just too tired, the meal just didn’t taste as good. Was starving so gobbled down most of the food.Went to Candy Empire for the first time today as well. Wow all the chocolate, cookies, potato chips and many, many other wonderful stuff sure made me feel more hungry! Bought some chocolate cookies before we left anyways. Don’t think I can work in Candy shops eh!Much less a candy shop such as Candy Empire lols. Iwon’t be earning much income. Hmm will probably be something like, “Eh boss, could you just put this month’s salary in the cash register? I’ll take these two bags of cookies home.” LOL!!
Well, poured again today. Made a record man! Five days in a row. Downpour every day lol.Been drenched at least thrice this week. Still find it a hassle to use an umbrella lol. Noticed most other pioneers also prefer to just make a dash through the rain to the bus stop.
We received our PQs back for some checking today as well. After scanning through, I noticed that what my Class tutor wrote for my PQ was pretty much what I had written myself. Guess she didn’t edit it too much. Compared to some of my other classmates, the length of my PQ is considerably okay I guess. Hahas, guess putting in more effort to write the first draft does help huh. Heard that students from some other classes had better PQs but well…
These things are really difficult to control. Anyways, people from other classes probably had a better rapport with the Class Tutors? For me, I am sure I haven’t built up much of a rapport with my Class Tutor. At least, my PQ isn’t that bad.

NSP again

Stayed back in school for Night Study Programme (NSP) again today. This time I decided to have a plan of which papers I wanted to complete during NSP so as to be more efficient. Past NSPs had me flipping through the mass of worksheets in my file and picking random incompletedones to try to finish them. Thus kind of been wasting time. Indeed, I was much more efficient this time round. Completed two papers all the time I was there.Finished off a Chem paper 1 and Maths Paper1.We stayed till 8pm this time round though Really cool! Somehow I like staying out late in the night. Haha know that 8pm isn’t really considered late but still at least it’s dark. Despite enjoying this, it sure drains a lot of energy. Beenfeeling really tired and drained man.Phew!
Time seems to really be flyingby huh? I have about a month left to the A levels only. Haiz… Tomorrow’s Friday again. We’re another week nearer to the A levels.

Chem Consultation

I stayed back in school today again to study. Found it really helpful as before. Went for Chem COE before going to the library though. Agreed to go with Chee Koon of course and then remembered that today was Wednesday. Omg!! My subject tutor cum Class tutor will be there at COE!! Expected many teachers to be around anyways so may not need to consult her. Expected most of my classmates to be present too so she would probably be too busy to attend to me. Not very keen to consult her… my Chem is still not very good lols.Dun want her to see all my mistakes.
Unfortunately, there weren’t many ppl there. She was free so she came over and asked if we needed help. ThenChee Koon “kindly” volunteered that I needed help (so kind of him huh?).Thus,no choice lol! I had to search for something to clarify with her. Had lots to clarify actually; lots of mistakes. But can’t clarify with my class tutormah. Still got to be careful not to show her too many of my mistakes. Seriously, the kind of mistakes I am making will certainly have her thinking that I am not studying for Chem. That’s not true though. I am getting slightly better already. Just need to continue doing more papers and get more practice. Anyways found some questions from recent papers to clarify with her and it didn’t go too badly. At least, she didn’t tell me off for not knowing some basic stuff lol.
Stayed there until COE ended at 5pm and then went to library to study again till 7pm plus.

10S13 Year 2 Class Photos

Made a purchase for class photos again today as well. As usual,I purchased one of each of the photos. These included two formal, an informal and a special candid.Paid 12 dollars in all for the photos. Hmm… think all are small sized photos though as I was not asked what size I wanted and all were of the same price.
My usual practice was to have at least one large photo for my last year in the school.

Unwelcomed signs… Being too relaxed!!

Been feeling kinda relaxed these last couple of days. As it is, not a good thing though. What with the A levels drawing ever nearer.
Monsoon season’s not helping as well. This morn was the second time in a row that I’ve over slept. And I have been waking up with the feeling that ‘it is Sunday today!.’ and then going back to sleep. Thus that explains why I overslept. Haiz… feeling too relaxed, not good!
Stayed back in school to study with classmates today. Had a couple of hours of really efficient studying without all the distractions that I have at home. Hahas, all thanks to having overslept anyways. Then I slept 8 hours after waking up at bout 3 30 as it was raining slept till 6.30 and had to rush again.
Yup rained again this morn and lasted for more than 6 hours. The rain lasted till about 10am although it had become a drizzle by then.
Drenched again when I got to school of course!
Anyways back to staying back in school studied 5 hours straight in the library with the cool atmosphere almost zero noise with the occasional dragging of chairs and flipping of pages only. Gonna do it again tmr and hopefully everyday after school hahas. Depends largely on whether I get enough sleep the previous night though. Gonna be waking up at or after 6am from now onwards seeing as I can get up at 6.30 and still get to school on time. Gonna try to get more sleep and see if it helps. Finally, I also started buying milk to drink today. Been meaning to do so to get more calcium intake. Going to continue to do so… haha!
Went COE again yesterday.Clarified some questions that I had with yet another teacher as there were really few teachers available for consultation despite the small number of students there. Subject tutor was there as well but was occupied by some other classmates Stayed there for three hours till COE ended. Haha, did lots of maths!

OCTOBER?!! OMG!! Time slow down!

Wow entered into Oct already!Time flies!I’ve therefore only got about slightly more than 30 days to the actual A levels exam!!!
Monsoon season now yet my umbrella just gave up on me a few days back. So far been caught in one such downpour early in the morn and managed to avoid one. That happened just after I got to school anyways so it was a really close shave. Not planning to get an umbrella anyways despite all that. Well, it’s been pouring almost every morning since those two days. Guess the monsoon season is really upon us?
Recently also received news that us JC2s, who will be graduating really soon, will thus by default have joined the Pioneer Alumni Club (PAC).Lol… Joining of PAC requires us to pay 5 dollars. It was quite obvious that a majority of the cohort were not very keen on the idea lol… Why must we join? Most of us may not even have the time to return to the school lol.
Well, I am once again going on a short trip to Malaysia tomorrow to visit some relatives. Will blog again on Monday.

More about Prelims… and some good news!

Received Econs and Physics Papers today. Physics results were again really disappointing but Econs was not too bad, despite it still being a fail. At least got an S grade for Econs now which is an improvement even though still not enough. Managed a good pass in both essays that I had written and case study done was not too bad either. Haha, turns out that Econs was the only subject that had a jump in grade upwards. Most other fell or stayed stagnant. Cheers to all the effort put in by my Econs tutor..haha and to me too!
Some good news! GP tutor announced today a farewell lunch for all his classes which will be held on the 17th Oct, Monday on the week after Farewell Assembly. We were to vote for our preferred menu for lunch that afternoon.Haha! Really cool! It will be from 12pm to about 3pm that day and it is an exclusive gathering only for his invited students and certain colleagues whom he had invited. Lol… and he will be the bouncer for the day and be “taking attendance” for all guests to ensure that no one gate crashes. Haha so many measures in place due to some ppl having gate crashed before. Our Class Tutor was also invited and the principal too haha. Quite a shock to us!
He also announced that he was opening up consultation slots after we are released from school, meaning after 14th Oct which is the Farewell Assembly. However, it is on a rush to get it basis… hahas! Demand for the slots apparently have a very price inelastic demand and runs out real quick.
Went for a short Maths COE today as well just before the Econs Mass Lecture which was for going through our Prelims essays. Didn’t get too much done there but solved two questions.Haha, so time was not wasted going there huh. Hmm… COE started at 2pm and Econs was at 2.30pm so really not much time. As most of the teachers were not there yet, had to wait and finally just approached the only teacher that was available. Hmm… quite a fun teacher haha. He helped me solve two Stats questions at least. Two less problems to worry about over the weekends.
Another week gone and one more week closer to A levels. I have faith that there is still enough time to pull up my grades to score much better grades though. Above a C at least.

Worry starting to creep in…

Got back GP papers today. Finally some grades to lift my spirits. Passed with a D for GP, not countingthe mark lost for forgetting the question number of course! Haiz Paper 2 comprehension is the problem again. Sianz…Haha, on the way back from school saw a small kitten along the road playing with a butterfly, literally using its paw to touch the butterfly’s wings which surprisingly did not fly away… lol. Was walking back with John then and as expected he took out his phone to capture that image haha. But the kitten got frightened away lol. What a pity!
Yup, met John again after school by coincidence. Chatted about our Prelim grades and he said that he was starting to get worried not only for his grades but for mine too. Not sure why, although I still felt that there was still enough time to turn things around, that got me kind of worried as well. Well, with less than forty days left and not enough progress, it is high time to get worried and start putting in more effort in studying. However, being worried now is not the right mindset to have. Got to channel that energy to putting in more effort studying.
Most of my friends are already making the effort to stay back in school after lessons to study. Somehow that just doesn’t work for me… got to find some other way I guess.

I’m not moving forwards… time is slipping away!

With only 40 days left to A levels time is really running out. But there is still time enough though, to pull up my grades still further. Got back my Chem and Maths papers today. Not good at all. Failed both with a dismal “U”!! Well a really really slight improvement for Chemat least. It really is quite insignificant but I really need all the encouragement I can get man! Then again, Maths grades have dropped! Really disappointing! Thankfully, Maths is a subject that I can get by with chionging papers after papers to get the tricks and concepts to answer the questions. So that’s what I’m going to do yeah! I’m also planning to do a thorough analysis of my Prelims papers in due course and then redo the Prelims papers for all subjects until I can attempt all questions with confidence!Hope that helps. And of course, there are the never ending supply of other school’s Prelims Papers to keep on my toes. Jiayous!!

Econs Mock Paper 1

Had to go to school today despite it being a marking day, Had an Econs mock Paper today. Lol, right after our Prelims! We haven’t even gotten our Prelims answer scripts back yet. I mean, what’s the point then. At first I thought it was because we did real badly for our Prelims and so the teachers wanted us to have a second round. However, later found out that we were doing the 2010 A level paper 1 Case Study. The teachers just wanted to have us try out the paper lol. With the limited time available for use, guess its kinda understandable.
Did the paper in the hall with the rest and started at 2pm.Whoa!The paper was much more difficult than the Prelims paper that was set man! Didn’t complete the whole paper and left the last 10m question incomplete.
Hmm…also been looking through my A levels timetable recently and realised that there was only one day that I had two papers, not counting GP of course. That would be Chem Paper 2 and Econs Paper 2. Cool eh? All other days I’ve only one paper each day with breaks between most papers. Should be able to make it for the A levels yeah!
Oh yeah, and school starts again tmr. Going to be going through exam papers alr

41 days left to the A levels… Time is running out!!!

Being brought back to the realities of JC life…

With the end of the marking days and the Prelims behind me, school starts again. Wow time will be flying by real quick and before long it will be the A levels!
In summary,,, three more weeks of school including this week, then another two or three weeks of self-studying during which I do not need to attend any more formal lessons after the farewell assembly on 14th Oct. Then, it will be one month of A levels chionging all the way and….
IT WILL ALL BE OVER!!!
But of course, for me to enjoy after A levels, got to study real hard now so ciaos!

A break now to travel further later…

Lolol! I’m still in a slacking mode sia. Hahas…not planning to do any studying yet lols, at least, not until tomorrow.
So I’ve just been slacking, watching TV and using the computer.Haha really bad of me huh.I really should be studying now that prelims is over and I’m so much nearer to A levels lol.
Anyways, just found out that the Mahjong on Facebook that I’ve been playing can still be played even though I’ve no tokens left.Hahas, so been spamming that as well.
Well that I guess should be good news but the only problem is that this discovery was made so near to my A levels.Yup! I definitely have to discipline myself to study and not be distracted yeah? LOL! Helppppp…

Losing Hair

Been noticing that I’ve been losing hair recently. I think it’s due to studying for the exams lol. After every paper during the Prelims, I would leave the room with the table I was working on littered with strands of my hair hahas! Guess it is also due to my habit of playing with my hair when I’m deep in thought which resulted in all the hair falling off my head hahas. Even after the Prelims, I’mstill experiencing the same situation. Always after I finish with my studies and pack up the area, I would find lots of strands of my hair all over the table lol. Hope I still have hair after the A levels hahas. Oh ya… not that I will need it though. All gonna be shaved off anyways.

Jacket

Had a poke around the Adidas store at Suntec City Mall last weekend when I was there for dinner and finally found the Adidas jacket that I had been looking for. Well, it wasn’t that it was difficult to find the jacket but I didn’t like to have sales assistants “swarming” around me when I browse through items. Therefore, I only went into stores either with the aim of getting something specific; meaning I go in, get what I want, pay for it and then leave, or if it seems as though the sales assistants there were not going to “bother” me while I shopped.
As it happened, the store at Suntec City Mall was much larger and thus I was sure that I would not be disturbed. Anyways, it was late and there weren’t many sales assistants there anyways. So I went in and browsed through the Adidas jackets there and found what I wanted really quickly. I was really compelled to buy the jacket then. However, a look at the price changed my mind. It was over a hundred dollars! Yes, the jacket certainly looked really good and the material was really fine too. I was also sure that I would look real cool wearing that jacket. However, given the tropical weather here, it was hardly a necessity. Still, I really liked the jacket and had been meaning to get it so I decided to revisit that thought during the Year End Sale. Hopefully, it will be priced lower then. I then took down the model of the jacket – ‘ADI FIREBIRD TT E14647’. Gonna get the blue black one… hahas!
Now all that’s left is to find a strong enough reason to buy it, to convince myself that it is worth the money hahaha! Hope I find it soon! I’ve only two more months left to the Year End Sale!

Finally… Cycling again!!

Friday today so I was supposed to go for my weekly swim. However, didn’t go swimmingthough. This was despite the weather being really good today with a good strong, hot and bright sun. This is certainly a day not seen for quite some time. Some sun admist all the rain and heavy downpours.
Haha so I had other plans seeing as the weather was so good. Of course, it would have been great weather to be in the pool to cool off but I decided to take my bike out for a ride. Haven’t ridden for like eons! Haven’t had much time to do so lol. And with the monsoon season heading our way, might not even have the chance to do so even if I were to have time later. So went cycling instead as it was the last day of the Prelims.Hehe wanted to take a break for a couple of days. A luxury that JC students shouldn’t be spending time on this time of the year… lol.
Anyways, seeing as the following Monday and Tuesday are marking days, there is a long weekend aheadhaha. So why not take a break so that when the time comes to chiong, I can do so more effectively! Cheers to studying!

The Last of Prelims

Right! So it’s Friday again haha. Gonna blog about all that happened this week.Well, so it’s about Prelimsagain haha, So I had no paper on Tuesday and just stayed at home and studied for Maths Paper 2.
So then had Maths Paper 2 on Wednesday and it went considerably well. Still, need more practice on Maths for better results. Stats portion was also quite okay due to having had enough practice I guess haha.
Had Physics Paper 1 on Thursday and Chem Paper 1 on Friday. Guess that sort of sums up my entire Prelims hahaha.

AWESOME! Papers!!(XD)

Hey! Hey! Had to blog today man! Had two really awesome papers today.Econs Paper 1. Chem Paper 2.
Yeah, had two papers today and was expecting them to be disastrous actually but they both seemed okay. At least the Chem paper was not really difficult as I had thought it would be, and the Econs case study was relatively easy too. In comparison though, certainly felt that the Econs paper would bring me better grades. The two case studies given were easy to understand and points and examples to support my arguments could easily be picked out to be used in my answers. Used lots of points and examples from the extracts in my answers.Haha… really happy with that. Quite sure my answers should be okay. Chem paper, like I said, was not as tough as I had expected it to be. Nevertheless, it was still not totally an easy paper. Most of the questions were manageable but there were still some which I was not too confident in handling. But I’m definitely more confident in handling the question this time around as compared to the MYEs. Sure expect better grades this time. Haha! Well, hope this boosts my confidence in handling all the other papers this week. Haha, the battle’s not over yet. It’s only the beginning of the week. Still got lots to mug!

PRELIMS!!! Week 2

Prelims this week. Whew! Finally it’s Friday. A short break before Prelims continues again. So had Chem Paper 3 to start off with on Monday. As usual, it was a disaster! Wasn’t expecting much from it actually, although quite guilty of this as it is the Prelims already yet and I’m still not motivated to score well. But guess coz this is the first paper after the Sept Hols so still not really into the study mode yet. Then again, A levels is the real thing and this Prelims exam will not exactly affect my A levels grade much. Gonna be doing many more practices after the the A levels anyways. Therefore, didn’t study too much for the paper and just went for the paper with whatever prior knowledge I had before the holidays.
Tuesday!Didn’t have paper so just stayed at home to revise for H2 Maths Paper 2for the next day. Thought it was Stats paper and studied excessively for Stats. However, turned out that Wednesday’s Maths paper was just Pure Maths. Anyways did study Pure Maths too so the paper didn’t go too badly. Only some parts of questions still unable to solve. Still have paper 1 to chiong.
No paper again on Thursday so stayed at home to study for Econs paper 2 and Physics paper 2 for Friday.
Had Econs Paper 2 and Physics Paper 2 on Friday. Had to write 3 essays for Econs but only managed two of the three though. Was very confident of the first essay which was on market failure due to negative externalities. So took a little more time on it to perfect it. In the end took an hour and 45 mins. OMG! Over- shot by too much. But overall quite satisfied with both essays written.Hoping to get more than 30 for Paper 2 overall. Physics paper was kind of under- prepared again. Not too good. Will have to work much harder for Paper 1 MCQ for a better overall grade.
Went swimming again after the papers on Friday.Went early again but still not much sun. Dark clouds started forming in the sky and I thought it would rain. Didn’t rain though. At least not before I finished with my shower. Dried myself and came out to be met with a heavy downpour. OMG! OMG! OMG! My things were soaking in the rain!! Rushed out and “rescued” my bag and clothes which were all already soaked through anyways. Phew… luckily I had my bag zipped up. Waited for the rain to stop before heading home as my umbrella had just tendered its resignationagain yesterday lol... aka got spoilt! How timely!
Going to spend the weekends studying for the papers next week.Last chance to pull up my Prelim grades.

Chionging studies in school

Sept Hols again! One whole week without any lessons… haha! Then again, not much like hols actually. Iwent back to school every day to study…lol. So much for the holidays.Haiz...what to do...? Prelims coming up after the hols
Good thing for me anyways since Chee Koon wanted to study in school anyways not efficient when studying. Really realised just how inefficient I am studying at home when I started going to school to do my revision. Too many distractions at home I guess. Same problem that most of us students face nowadays I guess. What with having computers at home, the television, radio and various other electronic equipment. It is to the extent that even the fridge has joined the list of distractions. Well I do try to prevent myself from being near these distractions. However, it is not very effective lol. If I do manage to get myself away from my laptop, I will then find myself sitting in front of the television anyways. Anyways, went back to school to study on our own on Monday and Tuesday. Then, we had Econs ERP on Tuesday morning so went to school and studied for a while from 9am to 10 am before heading for Discussion Room 3 for ERP. Then went back to studying again all the way till afternoon about 2pm. Much was the same for Monday except that we didn’t have ERP on Monday. Hahas both days had Mac for lunch. (Lols why is it always a Mac near my school? Sec school Kss also spam mac after school during cca breaks now JC studying for exams… hahas its mac again!) Yah so it’s junk food but ‘WHO CARES!!’ Haha…so long as it keeps me awake and is not too much stress on the finances. Hahas! Not likely for me to get fat anytime soon anyways… lol.
Anyways, studied Econs on both days and some Maths.
Went home after lunch and did Prelim Practice Paper 2. Preparing for Maths COE on Thurs and Fri.
Went for COE on both Thurs and Fri. Well, certainly helped a lot. Did lots of maths and the resources there certainly helped me keep from falling asleep as it was certainly much easier to work with answers available rather than feeling really sianzz when I can’t solve a maths problem lols. The teachers there were also a great help. Haha… when COE comes up again for the final lap to A levels, I am sure to be there!
So it’s Friday again today. So…Yup! It’s swimming again for me. As COE ended at 3pm I was able to leave early and head for the pool. Well COE literally ends at 3pm mind. I had thought that the teachers only stated that as a time to wind down and that they will still be available for further consultations but no. They started chasing us all out of MPR3 at 3pm sharp and all of them had disappeared by 3.05pm. Lolol!
Anyways, back to swimming. Thought that I could get more of the sun and do some tanning as I was earlier this time. However it was cloudy when I got to the pool with not much sun. Haiz… what a waste! Decided to wait though and as usual changed into my pink trunks and laid on one of the benches hoping to get some sun but it was to no avail. After doing Sudoku for more than an hour, I finally decided to get in the water partly due to tiredness beginning to creep in and also due to the fact that there was certainly not going to be much sun left anyways. Managed slightly more laps this time round despite a severe and persistent cramp in my legs. Swam about 16 laps before my leg cramped up. Then decided to stop and laid on the bench again to do Sudoku. After a while went back to swim and completed 22 laps! That’s going to be my standard from now on! Haha!

Prelims GP Paper

Friday again today. Start of Prelims Exam. GP paper 1 went pretty smoothly. Qn I did was something about whether technology enhances teaching and learning. Think I handled it pretty well. Came up with a 7 sentence conclusion, my longest conclusion yet. Only problem was… I FORGOT MY QUESTION NUMBER!!!!!! Only realised when I was queuing up for food in the canteen. By then, too late le.My tutor’s gonna strangle me!!! Was too busy ensuring no errors in my script lols. Clean forgot about it. Haiz… Paper 2 wasn’t too difficult as well. Managed quite a long AQ. Managed quite a lot of points for SQ too. Hope to at least get a C, if not, maybe a B? Lol…at least hoping for a B for P1 lah. Managed a B for the poverty essay lols.
Wednesday had a talk by an ex- VP. Quite motivational in the sense that it woke me up to certain details such as that I was spending too much time on my laptop just surfing the Web aimlessly. Being on MSN too. Wasting my own time lols. Decided to cut down. Gotta control myself. Discipline!
Recently found on the Web that I can grow taller with frequent stretching. Some guy had posted on a forum saying that he grew 4 cm in two months!!! LOL!!! Gonna try stretching more and see if it works. Gonna exercise more as well. What with the Sept Hols coming up, sure a good opportunity.
Long hols coming up again.. two in a row this time. First up is the Presidential Elections in lieu on Monday and Hari Raya on Tuesday. Then Thurs is Teacher’s Day celebrations and Friday Teacher’s Day. Effectively only have lessons on Wednesday. Woot… yeahs!! And after that, Sept school Hols!! But that’s really for lots and lots of revision. Prelims right up next after Hols. Hais… persist through lol...

Extra help!! Heeelp!!

Having already received my MYE results, I have been attending remediation programs since week 6. Hahas, having gotten really dismal grades in the Mid-Year Exams, this is certainly not much of a surprise. What’s surprising and quite interesting is the names for all the remediation programs that the teachers have come up with. Really lots of three- letter acronyms to keep up with… rofl! Basically, I am now down for remediation programs for all my subjects except H1 Physics. Okay so there’s Econs Remediation Program a.k.a. ERP for H2 Economics. Then there’s the Centre Of Excellence a.k.a. COE for H2 Mathematics and Maths Excellence Program (MEP) for Maths as well. For H2 Chemistry, there’s a mass Chemistry consultation conducted every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. What’s more, there’s also some Chem remediation called “Chem Clinic” for the weaker students and “Chem Hospital” for those that really need extreme help.. Haha. Well see, quite a lot of help being offered by the teachers in my school to give us support for the A levels yeah… haha!
Anyways, as the Economics remediation is compulsory, and I am generally much weaker in Chemistry, I have been attending both remediationsfrequently. Thus, this leaves little time for me to attend COE for Maths which is voluntary. Basically, there will be a venue booked for us weekly on Mondays and Fridays for COE and there will be teachers there to help us clarify our doubts. Answers to recent tests and prelim papers that we have been given will also be made available there. Having been attending Econs and Chem remediation, I also had to constantly complete Econs and Chem assignments thus falling back on revision for Maths as a result. Therefore, all the more the reason why I’ve not been attending COE. Haven’t done any Maths revision papers yet so no answers to check yet. Hais… really got to brush up revision on MathsL On a last note, sadly I have now down for early morning H1 GP lectures as well. Just narrowly missed passing by a mere 4 marks… Man! Sianz…
Looking on the bright side, at least I wun have the chance to be late for school. Due to the lectures, I am now required to be in school by 7am!! on Wed mornings. Haiz…
On my part, I’ve also started looking up my Mum’s friend’s daughter to clarify Chem questions when I need help.

New school tie

Hahas… Rofl!! Quite a joke today. As the school decided to change the school tie this year, ( lols why only this year everything want upgrade? Zzz..)we had a mass voting session for the whole cohort prevoiusly, teachers and alumni included. Four different designs were presented, all skinny ties though. Looked quite cool. Anyways, point is results for the voting came out today. Hahaha… the majority voted for the really colourful one haha. Looks like a clown when wearing it. Wonder who came up with that design. It looks irksome! Haha… us JC2s dun have to worry though. By the time the new design comes out, we’d have graduated.
Immediately after the results, JC1s started complaining about us JC2s “anyhow vote” leave them with such a tie hahas!! Someone even “tweeted” their anger on Twitter. LOL! Our gift to them lols! Enjoy! Sure to visit again next year to see how the JC1s look wearing it. Hahas… so bad!
Jokes aside, met my GP tutor for consultation today. He gave me points for a poverty essay.. Is the elimination of global poverty a realistic aim? Going to look up more examples and write out the essay to show him next week. Quite confident of this essay.

Prom or not?

At the eye appointment ytd, I received an sms from my class asking if I wanted to go for Prom. Lols… of course I then asked if the class was going. What’s the point of going if my class isn’t going? When told that most of my classmates were attending, I said YES! Of course! Was quite surprised though, had the idea that they weren’t keen on attending the Prom as it was too ex. Lols!!
However, today after making the payment of $85, I was told that we will most probably get a refund as the class has decided not to attend already. Rofl! So fast change ur mind again!
On another note, more towards academics, today was Chemistry Day again… Thursday. Therefore, stayed back in school to complete 2010 A level Chem P3 under timed conditions but Phailed once again. Hais… this again? Despite studying for it lol.
One more day and Week 8 would have come to an end. Next week is Week 9. And on Friday… Prelims begin!! H1 GP paper first up! Lols GP still a blunder. Going to look for tutor tomorrow to discuss some essays. Hope it helps!

PONNED school!!

Haha… didn’t go to school today. PON!!
Well not really pon lah. Had an eye appointment at the doctor’s actually. Wasn’t intending to be gone the whole day but … oh well… not disappointed that the appointment took so long anyways.
Well, went and did the usual checks. Only thing was, I made it known that I saw double image at certain angles and that was what caused the extension in the eye check up. Usually I would ignore the fact that I saw double images, but today dunno why I told the doctor. Thus, did some checks and they found out that I had diplopia. Was really quite a simple test actually. They had me put on a special type of specs with red and green lens and asked for me to look at an image ahead. I saw three red images and two green ones and just told them lols. Then it was confirmed that I had diplopia! Was really puzzled but when I removed the specs, I realised why. There was only one red image and one green image on the screen. LOL!! So I was seeing double images. Not that I wasn’t aware of it of course.
Did some more tests with a sort of prism thingy with varying angles of inclination of the prism. Guess that was probably to vary the amount of light reaching my eyes. So they just checked whether I was seeing double images using the different prisms and also asked if I could focus the image back to one. While most of the time I still could, at some point I couldn’t focus it to one image anymore. No matter how I tried. Guess that was what they were looking for.
After that decided to do the report for my NS too so further extended the time. Further tests revealed something much more interesting. Apparently my brain isn’t processing images from the left eye or smth and so literally I’m seeing with only my right eye. Thus, all the mystery of the puzzling findings about my eyes all resolved in one day. And all because I withheld some information lols. Due to that, was told that may have to downgrade PES. Guess it came as no surprise. Been expecting that! Was told to continue wearing my specs and left.
