Arghh… … WORK!!!
Okay, two points for this post. Writing and submitting of my School Grad Cert and a sudden surge of Chem HW… hahas!
So, besides writing my PQ, as posted in an earlier post, I had to write another component of my School Grad Cert as well. It is basically three paragraphs on some of the activities that we took part in in our two years in school and some achievements that we have made. So wrote mostly about my CCA Alchemist Club and some CIP.
Kk next… Chem homework. Juz thinking about it makes me feel sianzzed. Out of the blue, my Chem tutor wants to see our work that was like given to us for revision during our Common Test… lols. Now it’s like after MYE’s liaoz den still wan dig up the past lolol. Most of my classmates, including me, have not even started on it yet. Well, expected. Besides, it was so long ago. Thus, many dun even noe where their set of revision practice is anyways. Haiz sianz have to chioing homework nao lols. Wants it by Friday. Such a thick set of revision practice, even if we were to do Chem for the next few days oso may not be able to finish lols.
Lolol… think she intended for us to have already done it then during the common test. Hais…

Plan for revision
Spared some time to ponder about my really dismal grades yesterday after I left school. With the MYE’s over and prelims coming, We really are very near to the A level’s already! It was then that it struck me… What happened to the very detailed study plans that I used to have listing all the topics that I to study each day? So I made it a point to dedicate today to do up a detailed study plan for myself… at least until T3wk 8 leaving weeks 9 and 10 free for a rounding up for all my revision. Then it’s a one week break before the prelims. So you see… srsly not much time left!
However, it’s not all work and no play hahas. Plan also included exercise such as jogging and swimming. Included in my plan to at least make it a point to go jogging every weekend or if time permits, hopefully every evening. Going to go swimming every Friday evening after school too and on Sundays too.
This is what I call working the mind, body and soul! Hope that with my new plan, there will be a clearer direction for where I’m heading in my academics… yeah! Cheers to a fruitful and efficient Term 3.
My last hope!!

Principal wants to meet us
Been told that the principal wanted to meet my class during assembly today. Apparently it was due to our pretty dismal MYE grades as a class. Somehow, the Class tutor kept assuring us that it was not a big matter and to not feel disheartened that the principal wanted to meet us. Quite unlike her usual self though. Usually quite harsh on us.
So the principal talked to us and a few other students together about the usual stuff… University entry grades, encouragements, motivations…Well, as I said, quite the usual stuff. Nothing much after that, got back with the Class tutor and again she assured us that we were not the worst performing class and that she could see that some amongst us were putting in more effort in their studies. Hope she was referring to me as well though. My results are just not showing the effort I’m putting into my studies.

PQ writing
Being in JC2 this year, we will be getting our School Grad cert soon after our A levels. Therefore we were to write our own Personal Qualities(PQ) which is a component in the cert. Actually, we had been advised to do it during our June hols so as to get it all done before our new school term kicks in and thus to not let it distract us from academic work. Furthermore, we would have time to do it as well during the school hols. However, I am very sure no one actually took time off to write their PQs during the June hols haha. We alr have a lack of time for revision for MYEs, where to find time for writing PQs?! Hahas..
So that means that we’ll have to do it during the school term. But then, lols… it’s due in July anyways. Long time to do it. I waited until after my MYEs to think about it but forgot all about it. Just ytd was reminded that the PQ is due this Friday, 22/07. OMG!! I panicked! With the insurmountable amount of homework, how to make time to do PQ. Hahaha! Really felt like when I was in JC1 doing PW. Had to rush for deadlines. Dunno what to write. Then after that the problem of printing it hahas. While most of my frens took sentences from the samples that we were given, I decided to be original and write it on my own. Really felt like doing PW man. Working late into the night, after I had completed my homework, to do my PQ. Hahas, decided to do one paragraph each night as we only required four paragraphs. As this was a PQ which was to reflect the good qualities of ourselves, we were told to only include positive stuff. So lots of complimenting myself and stating my strong points. However, cannot be overly exaggerated as this will then not be credible right… hahas. thought it was an easy task but was proved wrong. Complimenting oneself is not as easy. Sentences kept being phrased like I was boasting lols. Hais…anyways wrote a satisfactory PQ by the end of Thursday night and woke up on Friday morning to do a final edit before printing and handing it up.Being in JC2 this year, we will be getting our School Grad cert soon after our A levels. CCA hours
Received my CCA cert for verification of our CCA hours today. Looked at the number of CIP hours… a 75! A far cry from my sec school CCA cert man! However, in comparison we only have two years to contribute to the number of hours in this cert whereas in sec school we had four. Still, quite contented with the number of hours and activities listed on the CCA cert as well. Seems like I had been pretty busy throughout my JC life eh! Barely remembered some of the activities listed there but oh well… since it’s there must have participated in them in one way or another I guess.
However, the number of hours on Einstein’s Cradle couldn’t keep my spirits up. Only 20 hours?!! I submitted 40+ hours for each member after careful calculations! Hahas… anyways been told already that the hours will most definitely be cut so well… hahas.
All in all, quite satisfied with the cert. almost as comparable to my sec school CCA cert… but… still a far cry! Hahas…

Mid Year Exam results
Well, Mid year exams have ended and results are back. Not good results though. Phailed Chem and Econs H2 and only barely passed the other sujects. Phailed GP as well. Hais… down for GP morning remediation lectures… at 7am!!! Hais… Sianz!! All because I misinterpreted the summary and missed out many points. What made it worse was that the points were very much obvious after I realised my mistake. So many points from paragraph 3 and I thought we weren’t to use points from there. lol…Phailed by only 3 marks! Could have passed man! Lols! Then again, need to study much harder for the other subjects too.
As for H2 Chem and Econs, again the failure was by a large margin. A ‘U’ grade of less than 5% of the whole cohort managed a pass in Econs, H1 and H2 students included. Guess we all need to work a lot more on our Econs, eh? Kk… signing off here. ciaos!!

Racial Harmony Day in PJC
Yup, celebrated Racial Harmony Day in school today. Lols… got called back to school just for that. Sianz!! We weren’t even doing much in school that day anyways. The only perk I felt though, was that we were allowed to wear home clothes to school today, provided that it was smart casual. Heard that that was the school’s attempt to try to bring back the practice of allowing students to wear home clothes to school on normal school days. Heard that that was the case in the past but it was abolished due to ppl starting to appear in all sorts of clothing.
Anyways, like I said, didn’t do much in school. Mainly just had some sort of ballroom dancing lesson probably to prepare us for the graduation prom night… lols! Man!! It was hilarious! Basically the girls were slightly more interested than the guys. Which is expected of course. Hahas, but only slightly. Well, this was what happened.
Stage 1- The start of the dance. Mostly everyone was dancing and trying to keep up with the steps that were being taught. Well,I joined in too, just like everyone else. There were some who were not participating at all though. So they just sat around on the floor of the hall.
Stage 2 - After that, the guys were told to pair up with the girls. This was when a quarter of those who were participating actively went to sit down. Some of the more “enthu” guys held on though.Rofl… but they partnered with guys, not girls. Hahas!! I then went to join my class’ guys in sitting down at the back of the hall as they too were not interested in dancing. So there we stayed with a clear view of observing the others dance.
Stage 3 – This was when it was instructed to move from the “open stance”( or wadeva it was called) to the “closed stance” where the guys had to hold the girls’ waist and pull them closer. Naturally, another portion of the “dancers” disappeared, about another quarter. So there was only just about a quarter of the cohort left dancing from what I could see. Really hilarious! Lolol! After that… we were dismissed!! So much for dressing up! We just sat around in the school hall.

Swimming
Went swimming yesterday at SAFRA Jurong. Hmm.. am trying really hard to keep up with swimming weekly. Didn’t count the number of laps that I swam this time round but am sure that it was much more than the usual 10 laps that I usually swim. Swam for a longer period of time as well.
Hahas, also saw a friend with his family there too. Somehow dun think he recognised me.. lols! Gonna try to get in touch with him soon.
Kk, back to swimming. Hmm… found SAFRA Jurong to be a nice place to swim at. Easily accessible too and free access. Going to go there more often hahas.
